Days of Wine and D'Oh'ses - S11-E18
Corrected entry: Homer and his friends said that they couldn't picture Barney without the door handcuffed to him. The birthday party was two weeks ago, and he didn't have it on then.
Midnight Rx - S16-E6
Corrected entry: The towel Flanders wraps around Apu's head changes shape between when it is first applied, and when the customs agent sees Apu. First it is an almost perfectly round shape with no loose ends, then it becomes a more flat shape with a loose end hanging over Apu's shoulder. When Apu is seen inside the police van, the towel is once again in the original shape.
Correction: Since it's a towel, and not an actual turban, it's not a surprise it loses shape and comes apart. And there is time before Apu is thrown into the police van for him, or one of the others, to have rewound it.
Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in 'The Curse of the Flying Hellfish' - S7-E22
Corrected entry: The receptionist fires 4 shots from a double-barreled shotgun.
Correction: That isn't a doubble barreled shotgun. The fact that the receptionist moves a lever between shots indicates that she has more bullets in the gun.
Much Apu About Nothing - S7-E23
Corrected entry: When the family and Apu are at the table, Lisa is reading 'Backdoors to Citizenship'. After Homer says 'I'll be your tutor', the shot shows the family reacting at the table, but Lisa's book has now disappeared.
Correction: Lisa could easily be holding the book in her hand, as she is only visible from the chest up in the shot.
Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in 'The Curse of the Flying Hellfish' - S7-E22
Corrected entry: When Burns and Grandpa first open the safe to cross off Asa Phelps, they turn all the keys to open, yet no spotlight shines out to sea. However the when Grandpa completes the same procedure on his own, the spotlight appears.
Correction: Burns and Grandpa only turn the two keys they brought with them to Asa's funeral, hence there is no spotlight.
Corrected entry: Snake jumps into the crowd of Sadgasm fans and Chief Wiggum is chasing him. However, Snake wasn't a criminal in the nineties. In another episode, you find out that Snake became a criminal when Moe stole his gold to pay for dating Edna. This is the same year that she started teaching Bart and according to another episode, he's never been held back, so it's only been a year.
Correction: The Simpsons history has to be adapted over time, in order to fit its "present day" setting in with the fact that it's been going for nearly 20 years. As such it doesn't constitute a mistake, even a deliberate one.
Lisa's Pony - S3-E8
Corrected entry: When Homer is on the phone with someone in his work station, (I think it's Lisa) he's talking on a phone that's connected to his work panel. When he turns to his right, there's another phone connected to the wall. Why would one person need two phones?
Correction: One closed-circuit intercom for calls made inside the plant, and one regular phone. For instance.
Corrected entry: When Homer takes a chocolate lollie from the freezer at the Kwik-E-Mart, it is exposed (we see Homer eating it later without having to peel a wrapper). Wouldn't it be in a wrapper?
Correction: Not really, there's an episode where Apu is seen putting old hot dogs to sell.So why would Apu use the safety rules now?
Wild Barts Can't Be Broken - S10-E11
Corrected entry: When the kids are broadcasting townspeople's secrets, and everyone else is in the meeting, Lisa says "And guess who's been practising medicine without a licence?" - scene cut, then cut back to the sign - "That's right: Homer Simpson" immediately afterwards, "D'OH!" is heard. The kids are OBVIOUSLY at least 1.5 miles from The Town hall, so there should have been a sound delay in between Lisa's last statement and hearing Homer's voice.
Correction: Neither can you hear someone yelling when you're one and a half miles away from them, but that happens all the time in cartoons- the cartoon makers are using artistic license.
The Simpsons Christmas Special: Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire - S1-E1
Corrected entry: In the same shots as when the gift changes colour, Homer in the first one can be seen with bare hands then after he's on the ground it is obvious he's wearing orange gloves.
Correction: Homer is wearing orange gloves throughout the scene, including during his fall. The bare hands belong to Flanders.
Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in 'The Curse of the Flying Hellfish' - S7-E22
Corrected entry: When Mr. Burns crashes through Bart's window on the crane, no-one comes to investigate despite the fact that a crash like that would most likely alert someone.
And Maggie Makes Three - S6-E13
Corrected entry: Another flashback mistake: When Homer remembers finding out that Marge was pregnant with Bart, he screams, tears out his hair and runs upstairs, past a picture of Lisa, aged 8, in the pink hat she wears to church. The mistake being that in this flashback neither Bart nor Lisa have been born. This mistake re-occurs seconds later: when Homer remembers finding out Marge was pregnant with Lisa, he runs upstairs past the same picture of Lisa aged 8.
Correction: Sure, like Homer's memory is going to be a paragon of perfection and accuracy. Character mistake, nothing more.
The Simpsons Christmas Special: Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire - S1-E1
Corrected entry: When you first see Patty and Selma, there is nothing connecting the beads on Selma's necklace.
Correction: Actually, if you look closely, you can see a thin string connecting beads, it's just not distinct enough on the yellow background.
Tree House of Horror III: The Simpson's Halloween Special III - S4-E5
Corrected entry: At the beginning of the episode, Nelson punches Martin. Surely Marge would have noticed it, but she didn't.
Correction: Not really a mistake. She just didn't notice it.
Corrected entry: In the opening sequence of the show Marge's car pulls in and parks on the left side of the driveway (actually garage but still the left side) while Homer's car is on the right side. However, throughout the series Homer has always parked his car on the left side and Marge has parked hers on the right.
Correction: They do not always park with Homer on the left. When Homer hotwires her car in the Canyonaro episode, for example. His is on the right.
Pygmoelian - S11-E16
Corrected entry: On the way to the beer festival, Homer took the door handles. How could Bart and Lisa get out of the car?
Corrected entry: Homer shoots the TV on, and talks to the other members, then when you next see a shot of the TV screen, it has turned off. And it can't have broke because other bullet holes can be seen too which didn't break it.
Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song - S5-E19
Corrected entry: When Bart shows his dog in class all the other kids are surprised to see it, but what about when Bart took it to school on the bus? Sureley somebody like Otto or one of the other kids would have seen Bart pick him up?
Correction: Bart hid Santa's Little Helper in a box, which he reveals at school.
All's Fair in Oven War - S16-E2
Corrected entry: It takes two years for Marge's kitchen to be finished, but Bart and Milhouse are still planning their Playdude treehouse as if no time has passed at all. Surely in two years they would have either lost interest or finished making the Playdude treehouse? It only takes them a few weeks to get it up and running once the kitchen is finished.
Correction: Kids often get sidetracked doing something else, and come back to doing what they were doing when they have time.
Homer Simpson in 'Kidney Trouble' - S10-E8
Corrected entry: This concerns when Bart is in the ghost town, watching the robotic can-can dancers. When the four dancers first come out and start their kicks, one loses a leg which goes flying out of the window, breaking it. However when the camera cuts back to the dancers they all have both their legs.
Correction: No, there is always a leg missing and none of the other parts reappear.
Correction: That's not a mistake, it's just another one of many stupid things that the guys say.
