Continuity mistake: When Homer and Marge are on the plane, they both have seat belts on. However, when Marge gets up to run up and down the plane, both seat belts have disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Moe gets bitten by the snake in the cash register, he has bites all over his hand. But in the next shot when Barney sets him on fire, all the bite marks are gone.
Continuity mistake: When Homer is kicked out of Moe's the window behind Homer suddenly opens so Moe can throw the record out.
Continuity mistake: When the plane takes off without them, you see that the Simpsons are only carrying 2 bags and 2 suitcases. But when it cuts to them un-packing in the house, there are 5 suitcases.
Continuity mistake: When the snake from the cashier bites Moe, the bites on his arm never change and only remain in the one spot even though the snake bit several different spots on his arm.

Continuity mistake: As Homer is giving his speech to the dressed up monkeys, all of the monkeys are dressed in blue suits and you can also see there is one monkey next to the stairs on the stage. In the next shot of Homer leaving the stage there is now six monkeys, with only one wearing a suit and it is grey. (00:19:45)
Continuity mistake: When the Stonecutters are singing "We do", the position of several characters, particularly Number 51 and Chief Wiggum, change randomly as the camera angles change. Number 51 starts at the end of the table on the right side, with Chief Wiggum two seats to the left of him. In later shots, Number 51, then Wiggum are both switched to the same position, midway up the left side. Then, when the song ends, Wiggum has disappeared, and Number 51 remains in this new position.
Continuity mistake: During the "We Do" song, there is a character at the top of the screen who keeps changing colour. I think it might be Dr Hibbert, but his skin colour keeps flickering to yellow.
Continuity mistake: When Homer starts walking away with the stone of shame, you can see he has no birth mark on him. yet in the next shot all off the stonecutters see the birthmark.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Burns pushes the child on the swings, he somehow manages to defy the laws of physics. When he pushes the child forward for the last time, he swings forward, then back, hitting Mr. Burns in the head. He then swings forward again, hitting Mr. Burns from behind. Mr Burns starts saying "You've won this round..." and the child then hits Mr. Burns from behind again. In order for this to happen, he would have to go completely around between the second and third hits and you clearly see he doesn't.
And Maggie Makes Three - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: When Homer remembers finding out that Marge was pregnant with Bart, he screams, tears out his hair and runs upstairs, past a picture of Lisa in the pink hat she wears to church. This mistake re-occurs seconds later when Homer remembers finding out Marge was pregnant with Lisa. Hard to have photos of Lisa on the wall before Bart and Lisa were even born...
And Maggie Makes Three - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: Bart comments on Homer's extreme reaction when he realised Marge was pregnant with Maggie. In the next flashbacks, when Homer reacts in the same way to hearing about Bart and Lisa, they are shown in the house at Evergreen Terrace both times. In Series 4, in the episode Lisa's First Word, they show that the Simpsons did not move to Evergreen Terrace until just before Lisa was born. Other episodes have also shown that Homer was with Marge at Doctor Hibbert's when she found out about her other pregnancies.
And Maggie Makes Three - S6-E13
Plot hole: When Homer is seen at work in the flashbacks (before Maggie was born), he is at his usual control panel in sector 7-G, but he only began working here when Burns made him safety supervisor in season 1, "Homer's Odyssey". Before Maggie was born he should have been working at the conveyor belt with the carbon rods, where we saw him in the first couple of episodes.
And Maggie Makes Three - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: When Homer is trying to get Ned another woman in a different episode, he tells him that there was some footage of Maggie being born that he couldn't get rid of on the tape but in the scene (in this episode)when Maggie is being born there are no video cameras in sight.
Revealing mistake: In the scene where the family is in the car, driving home from The Town hall meeting, Homer says "the whole reason we have elected officials is so we don't have to think all the time!" When he says "don't" a second collar appears beneath the right collar of his shirt, and then disappears after he says "time." (00:11:20)
Revealing mistake: When a comet is about to hit Springfield, everyone is standing on a hill in the shadow of it. But the shadow is still there even after it breaks up.
Continuity mistake: When Bart is first introduced to the Superfriends, Ham moves around the table a bit. First he is seen sitting next to the kid with dark, curly hair, and you can see a plate in between him and Bart's plate, indicating that someone else is sitting there. This someone turns out to be Lisa, who after she is introduced, switches seats with Ham, making Ham sit next to Bart.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, when we see a wide shot of everyone going to join Ned on the hill (and singing the song) look to the far left. You will see Apu - and his skin is yellow.
Answer: I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre," called "A Sound of Thunder," dealt with a similar matter: a group of hunters travel back in time to hunt dinosaurs, only to find things have changed when they get back because someone stepped on a butterfly.
