The Simpsons

Marge on the Lam - S5-E6

Plot hole: In the car chase, Chief Wiggum says that one of the suspects (Marge) "is wearing a green dress, pearls, and a lot of blue hair." However when we see Marge from the police car all we can see is her hair, so how would he have known about the pearls and dress?

Marge on the Lam - S5-E6

Continuity mistake: When Chief Wiggum and Homer think that the convertible Ruth and Marge are in is a ghost car, they want to hold each other. In this shot, you can see 1 small star out of the backseat of the police car. But in the next shot, from the perspective of the backseat, there is a canyon top where the star would be.

Suggested correction: This is in the questions as well. With the long amount of time the artists have to make an episode it's very hard that something like this would get by them. It's probably the device you watched it on.

Not true, watching a clip on Youtube and the episode on Disney+ the scratch is present. So it's not the device being used by the submitter.

Revealing mistake: When the man with the white helmet and flashlight asks Homer if he's holding on to the can in the vending machine, a large scratch appears near the upper right corner of the screen over the man's helmet.

Bart's Inner Child - S5-E7

Deliberate mistake: When Homer pushes the trampoline off the cliff, there is no rock below the falling trampoline. However, in the shot at the bottom a tall rock is visible which was drawn there on purpose for the trampoline to bounce off of, despite not being visible in the first shot.

Bart's Inner Child - S5-E7

Continuity mistake: At the "Do What You Feel" Festival, Homer shows up in his house robe, bear feet styled slippers, unshaven, and unbrushed hair. When he takes the float to save Bart, he's in his regular clothing of blue pants, white shirt, shoes, and clean shaven.

Movie Nut

Boy Scoutz N the Hood - S5-E8

Other mistake: When Ned and Homer's raft is going fast, Ned decides to go on the left side of the gorge, so he paddles on the left side, which causes a raft to turn to the right, which 1, means the raft moved to the left, which is impossible, and 2, he wanted to go to the left, but paddled like he wanted the raft to turn right.

$pringfield (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling) - S5-E10

Continuity mistake: When Homer makes the food with the mix of Tom Collins mix, cloves and a pie crust you can see the labels on the Tom Collins mix and the cloves change between mixing the ingredients and after tasting them. Also the top on the Cloves bottle keeps changing through the scene. When Homer takes the bottle out of the fridge you can see a red top on it. When he sits down the top has disappeared and starts pouring the cloves. When the shot changes the red top is back and it disappears after that. (00:15:20)

The Cartridge Family - S9-E5

TV Announcer: The Continental Soccer Association is coming to Springfield. It's all here: fast kicking, low scoring. And ties? You bet.
Bart: Hey Dad, how come you've never taken us to see a soccer game?
Homer: I don't know.
TV Announcer: You'll see all your favorite soccer stars. Like Arriaga, Arriaga II, Barriaga, Aruglia, and Pizzozza.
Homer: Oh, I've never heard of those people.
TV Announcer: And they'll all be signing autographs.
Homer: Woohoo!
TV Announcer: This match will determine once and for all which nation is the greatest on Earth. Mexico or Portugal.

Tree House of Horror V - S6-E6

Question: Homer travels back in time and causes changes by what he does in the past, like stepping on a bug. I once saw a movie with the same basic plot: some people travel back in time and are told to be careful not to disturb anything, but when they return to their time everything has changed. In the end they discover it was because they stepped on a butterfly. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Answer: I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre," called "A Sound of Thunder," dealt with a similar matter: a group of hunters travel back in time to hunt dinosaurs, only to find things have changed when they get back because someone stepped on a butterfly.
