Continuity mistake: When Father Mulcahy's finishing up his Sunday service with only Klinger, who's wearing a fetching red hat, there are nine stacked books at the corner of the table, but when it cuts to Mulcahy's closeup there are now only six stacked books (which will soon be used for the 11:00 Protestant service when Trapper and Hawkeye will pray for booze).
Adam's Ribs - S3-E11
Revealing mistake: While Hawkeye's in the mess tent leading the protest shouting "we want something else" he climbs the tent pole, and in two of the wideshots the camera has panned a bit too far to the right, and we can see the edge of the tent facade set at the top right corner of the screen.
Adam's Ribs - S3-E11
Revealing mistake: As Radar, Henry, Klinger and Trapper get up to answer the emergency call, the outside background can be seen in the upper right corner of the shot, showing it was done on a sound stage.
Adam's Ribs - S3-E11
Character mistake: As Hawkeye obsesses about ribs, Henry says that he met Lorraine at the Dearborn Street Station. But while watching home movies sent to him, Henry said he met her at a freshman mixer.
Adam's Ribs - S3-E11
Continuity mistake: When Hawkeye throws his food in the mess tent, it lands on the tent screens behind Radar and Klinger. The food is there in the close up shots and in the wide shots it disappears.
Adam's Ribs - S3-E11
Continuity mistake: While Hawkeye leads the protest in the mess tent shouting "we want something else," there are two closeup shots of the table where Klinger and Radar are seated, and Klinger's white evening purse is missing, but in the previous and following wideshots the purse is hanging on his arm.
Adam's Ribs - S3-E11
Continuity mistake: When Hawkeye's in the mess tent holding the food tray the succotash is on the left and potatoes on the right with a space in the middle, so when Igor serves him creamed corn offscreen the corn should be between the potatoes and succotash, but when Hawkeye's having the fit and walks away from Igor, the potatoes (a higher mound) are now in the center space between corn and succotash.
Continuity mistake: The mud spots on Lt.Smith's face change from scene to scene. (00:09:45)
Visible crew/equipment: After Henry meets with Colonel Blanche, the Luxembourg Commander, it cuts to Hawkeye in the Swamp continuing his recording to his father, and when Trapper describes his recipe for the dry martini we can see the open edge of the tent set and a spotlight at the top left corner of the screen.
Continuity mistake: As Lt. LeClerq stands beside his commander, the Commander starts to look to his left, and drops his hand. When the angle changes, he drops his hand again.
Continuity mistake: The syringe the "Mad Turk" threatens Henry with alternates between fully ready to almost empty between shots.
Continuity mistake: As he addresses Maj. "Chicken Lover", Lt. Smith's head goes from leaning left to leaning right between shots.
Mad Dogs and Servicemen - S3-E13
Other mistake: Hawkeye, Henry and Trapper are playing scrabble. The board is in an illegal state - in the lower right corner 'it', 'jot', 'joy' 'yearn' and 'in' are not connected to the rest of the words. Since the others call Hawkeye on his non-existant word, I'm assuming they're playing properly. (00:15:35)
Mad Dogs and Servicemen - S3-E13
Factual error: While Radar's lying in bed, Margaret reads a letter to him which was written by Wanda McCandless, and in the letter Wanda mentions that her favorite songs are "Pretty Thing..." by Bo Diddley, and "Oh, The Wayward Wind..." by Gogi Grant, but the problem is these songs were written and recorded in 1955 and 1956, years after the Korean War was already over in 1953.
Mad Dogs and Servicemen - S3-E13
Visible crew/equipment: As the medics take a stretcher off The Bus, and then Hawkeye goes into The Bus, the shadow of the recording equipment boom plays across them.
Continuity mistake: In some shots the Spam lamb has mashed potato eyes and a carrot mouth, in others it has green grape eyes and no obvious mouth, and it keeps changing. (00:23:10)
Audio problem: At the end of the show, when Trapper is playing his instrument, the music does not match the movements of his hand.
Visible crew/equipment: While the Greek shipment of food is being brought into the mess tent, when the cook carrying the lamb walks behind the table, the edge of the tent set can be seen at the top right corner of the screen.
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Hawkeye presents the Spam lamb to Henry, he sets it down, and Henry asks him what it is. Behind Henry, you can see Hawkeye's shadow - and see his lips mouth the word "A Spam lamb". The camera then changes to a close-up of Hawkeye, saying "A Spam lamb".
Visible crew/equipment: While Trapper and Hawkeye are already in Henry's office Radar and Henry walk in, and just as Henry says, "Everything in this country disappears except me," the shadow of the boom mic can be seen moving across the wall at the top right side of the screen.
Answer: The C-42 was a military variant of the Douglas DC-2. Very few C-42's were built, so it's questionable that Potter would specifically have seen that particular model, but, given his military background, it's not entirely unreasonable that he might use the military designation even when the aircraft in question is actually a civilian DC-2.
