Other mistake: When Syrus visits Jaden in the hospital wing, Chazz hands him Jaden's deck, telling him he can't see his cards. Decks are usually said to have 40 cards, but when Syrus spreads the deck of cards apart, there only appear to be about seven cards in his hand, and nowhere near the full deck of cards that was just handed to him. Continuity mistake: When Jaden hands Lucien his duel disk, Lucien takes back the duel disk and holds it. Two shots later, Lucien is still holding the duel disk, but when the shot cuts, it is suddenly lowered. (00:03:23)

Continuity mistake: When Syrus hands Chazz the envelope, the way the envelope is held in Chazz's hand changes between shots. (00:07:56)

Other mistake: Jaden throws his fishing hook at the ocean, and it lands on Aster's steak. When Jaden goes to pull it back to him thinking it's a fish, Aster snaps the hook from the fishing rod, leaving the hook attached to the steak. Aster then continues eating the steak, but the hook cannot be seen inside it, even though it was never removed from the steak. (00:02:57)

Continuity mistake: When Jaden, Syrus, Hassleberry and Bastion are standing on the dock after Crowler and Bonaparte leave, Syrus raises a guidebook, which he is holding with one hand. When the shot cuts, he is holding the guidebook with both hands. (00:02:58)

Continuity mistake: When Aster activates D Fortune, he has his left hand positioned at his side. Then there is a close-up of his duel disk, and his left hand is over the front of his body. (00:18:22)

Continuity mistake: After the opening titles have played, there is a shot from above where explosions are around the forest and then the shot pans over to Duel Academy. Continuity mistake: When Jaden opens the top button on Syrus' blazer, five GX medals fall onto the ground. Three of the GX medals land face up, but two shots later, when Jaden goes to pick them up, all the medals are face down. (00:00:47)

Visible crew/equipment: During the headstone smashing scene, there is a moment right after breaking one with his back, where Ricky does a backflip and destroys a headstone being thrown in the air, and the hand of a crew member can be seen momentarily to the right of shot when it is thrown at him.
