I Do? - S3-E16

Revealing mistake: Rick at the "flawlessly vulgar" banquet drinks cheap champagne from a cup that falls on the floor revealing to be plastic. The floor is all wet already before the glass falls. (00:04:40)

I Do? - S3-E16

Continuity mistake: Harry MacKenzie gets two big splotches of cake on his suit. Dances with his niece, and then comes back to the buffet table taunting his nephew. No (or at least, very little) splotches at first, but in the closer view his suit is all soiled again. (00:06:20)

I Do? - S3-E16

Continuity mistake: Greta, Grandmother MacKenzie's cook, lets go of Marsha's arm when they are about to enter the residence, but she's back clinging to it in the next shot when Otto, Grandmother MacKenzie's butler gets in. (00:07:55)

I Do? - S3-E16

Continuity mistake: When Magnum encounters his secretary and he just won't let go of her hand, in the frontal views of Tom Selleck he has his fingertips curled, while in the reverse shots the fingers are straight and don't rise above the side of her hand. (00:19:00)

I Do? - S3-E16

Character mistake: Bickering with his pretend wife after risking his neck with the falling crates, Magnums says "we can stop playing house, I can go back to being a private detective, which is exactly what I should have been in the first place." Magnum has a verbal tic during the series and he fiercely corrects everyone when they call him a private eye, or detective, as he goes only by "investigator" (the I in P.I, after all). He's using the wrong word here. (00:22:35)

I Do? - S3-E16

Visible crew/equipment: While Magnum tries to eat the hotdog, Marsha hounds him about the "rancid, decaying animal flesh with harmful chemicals and additives." When Magnum agrees to let her fix something good, Marsha starts heading up the stairs and the white T-mark is visible on the floor, where she had been standing. (00:32:50)

I Do? - S3-E16

Visible crew/equipment: After Rick and TC agree to the horrible terms, Higgins is "persuaded" to help them get out of jail. In the next shot at the docks, when Marsha parks in front of the trailer, multiple white tape marks are visible on the ground in front of the trailer door, then before they all leave, those white tape marks are now black tape marks and a T-mark. I Do? - S3-E16

Plot hole: Marsha and Magnum have a wedding in great pomp and supposedly need to entrap an embezzler making believable their relationship...but who goes to work the day after their own wedding? A board is also mentioned, but apparently Magnum was appointed VP without any prior consultation.

I Do? - S3-E16

Other mistake: Marsha Mackenzie is supposed to be competent with certain aspects of men care; she comes from a wealthy family and she has been taking care of the men in her family all her life. And Magnum does show up at the Kamehameha club with a nicely done knot on his tie. When we actually see the actress tie that same not metaphorical knot though, it's very clumsy, crooked and differs in between shots (it's also done on an unbuttoned shirt).

Forty Years from Sand Island - S3-E17

Revealing mistake: After the savage beating, the two other prisoners go check out what happened inside the restroom. The take of Kirin Nakamura lying face down begins with the actor stretching his finger before he has to play corpse for a while not moving a muscle. (00:04:25)

Forty Years from Sand Island - S3-E17

Revealing mistake: Magnum usurped Higgins' desk while he's at the hospital. He is checking out of the article about Enoka running for Senate. If you look at the first article on the left, it begins with "The facts regarding the situation remain the same, state the authorities", the famous filler text that appears in dozens of props made by Earl Hayes Press. (00:16:35)

Forty Years from Sand Island - S3-E17

Continuity mistake: Magnum approaches the Nakamura house getting out of the car with light beige shoes. The young and pretty granddaughter of the deceased walks him around the corner, to her father. In the scene with Russell Nakamura, Nancy's Father, Magnum suddenly has dark brown moccasins, which you can see when he walks towards him and then away. And then when Nancy walks him back to his car, the beige shoes are back. (00:20:10)

Mac: Time has little to do with infinity and jelly donuts.

Trivia: At the awards ceremony, three men seated at a table together resemble three detectives from 1970s TV shows. Detective Mike Stone (played by Karl Malden) from ABC's Streets of San Francisco; Detective Frank Columbo (played by Peter Falk) from NBC's Columbo; and Detective Theo Kojak (played by Telly Savalas) from CBS's Kojak.
