Continuity mistake: Marina does a Bette Davis on Magnum and then turns around to leave. She stands in the middle of the entrance, with still her glass in hand. Quick cut to Magnum, and the glass conveniently disappeared. (00:26:55)
Continuity mistake: Magnum hears a noise at the bottom floor and starts walking downstairs. In the shot right before the close-up of his foot breaking the step, at the top of the stairs you can see some candles he was not carrying and are not consistent with the illumination of the scene - in fact you can see Magnum with candles only in a brief shot in the 'teaser' before the opening credits, in a scene that was left out of the episode. (00:28:40)
Continuity mistake: At the entrance of the masquerade, in the close-ups of John Hillerman (starting when he says "However difficult this may be to say") you can see Carlton in the background, which is incoherent with the reciprocal positions in the shots of the hall. (00:31:40)
Continuity mistake: When the Grim Reaper closes the safe, in close-up his hooded head casts a shadow on the door. Cut to a wider shot, and the shadows changed. Likewise, in this wider shot he puts the painting back in place and the scythe casts a very oblique shadow, but in the shot when he reacts to Sir Thomas' arrival the shadow is vertical and his head casts a visible one too. (00:34:55)
Character mistake: The Grim Reaper is at the party to grab the paper copy of the will - however, after Magnum is incapacitated turtle-style, the guy never bothers to actually retrieve it from the mantle he put it on, nor Magnum checks out what the piece of paper is. (00:35:05)
Continuity mistake: In the epic clash between Canned Magnum and the Reaper, Magnum falls on his back and the sword falls back on his arm. When the Reaper walks past him, the sword is on the floor by his leg, but it goes back to the precarious position on his arm when he is flailing his arms crying for help. (00:35:35)
Continuity mistake: In the hilarious stretched out comedy scene with Magnum trying to chase the suspect in his armor, whenever he is shown charging at the door and eventually breaking in, he is wearing the sword that he never retrieved - and in the moments when it's Tom Selleck in the armor and not a stuntman, he is not wearing it. (00:37:00)
Continuity mistake: When Wilson MacLeish is kneeling on the golf course, the light changes drastically between close-ups (shadows) and wider angles (strong sunlight on the chest). (00:45:10)
Revealing mistake: During the gun prank, you can see in the revolver's cylinder the bullets - except when it squirts, the bullets are gone. (00:47:00)
Continuity mistake: In the finale, the wet stain on Mr. MacLeish's body changes between the close-up and the wider angle. (00:47:15)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Continuity mistake: When Magnum protests that it is in his "constitutional rights" to bug-spray the lads, his hand is on his belly, but it is on his thigh in the wider angle that follows. (00:05:00)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene at the King Kamehameha club, Rick and TC are laughing their pants off at the whole ninja story. Magnum says "Come on, guys!" and two people - a woman with a blue swimsuit and pareo and a man with a purple tanktop with a large light strip - are moving across the street. Those same extras are recycled later in the scene, simultaneously by the sea when Magnum's story is called 'a little far-fetched' and walking in the club area right after. (00:15:30)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Continuity mistake: When Rick goes "Hohohohoho!" at Magnum's "I need your help!" passionate plea, both him and TC are sitting in different positions compared to the previous shot - they had their hands in midair and now they have them placed on the table. (00:16:10)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Revealing mistake: It is quite evident that Mako's sword does not touch the candle but smacks the table a few inches to the left. (00:17:05)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Revealing mistake: The Yakuza boss contacted by Rick has an amputated pinky finger. In theory, because it's easy to spot the real finger bent and tucked in the shadow. (00:21:00)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Continuity mistake: After waking up with a massive hangover, Magnum is meeting the unhappy designated recipient of the Kenzan plate. At the beginning of the convo, the table shows no direct sunlight, but at the first cut the scene is suddenly brightly lit. (00:26:40)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Visible crew/equipment: Fukuda-san is not impressed by Magnum making excuses for Tozan. When Tozan says "There is nothing to say. Fukuda-san is right", set lights are reflected in Tom Selleck's sunglasses. (00:27:00)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Visible crew/equipment: When Magnum goes to the souvenir shop, just as he starts to tell the guy he's interested in Japanese pottery, a black tape mark is visible on the floor. Then when Tozan starts going after the guy with his sword, the black T-mark is becomes visible as well, and Tozan stands at the tape mark and the guy stands at the T-mark. (00:31:40)
The Arrow That Is Not Aimed - S3-E13
Continuity mistake: During the car chase, the weather changes from one shot to the next - the pier is fully and brightly lit, when it wasn't a moment before. (00:33:00)
