Magnum, P.I.

Ki'is Don't Lie - S3-E2

Audio problem: Back to the mansion after meeting Simon & Simon in the hotel room, Magnum narrowly misses the villain. Still clueless about it, runs to Higgins and hops over a wall. The ghastly yell he emits during his athletic effort is entirely off-pitch and at a different volume than his speech. They might as well have used a Wilhelm scream here. (00:41:30)

Black on White - S3-E5

Audio problem: Higgins watches Magnum spit what he chewed on and gives him a "Magnum..." full of contempt. Magnum responds ever cheerful "Sorry, want a bite?" but the audio of the sentence is much lower than in the rest of the scene. (00:13:10)

Flashback - S3-E6

Audio problem: Magnum slips into the car in 1936 with his client out of the club. If you pay attention to the audio, there is sometimes a droning noise as if someone were using a leaf blower nearby (it's actually because in editing they cut out all sounds below a certain level - but some of it spiked enough to stay into the audible range). Heal Thyself - S3-E11

Audio problem: Not getting much sympathy from his buddies, Magnum just hands his coffee mug to Higgins and bolts off to go meet Karen. If you look at Roger E. Mosley face when he says "Hey Thomas, Higgins said we don't have t...", the audio is dubbed and does not match his lips' movements. (00:07:00)

Of Sound Mind - S3-E12

Audio problem: The lawyer and Magnum join the others in the room for the reading (rather, play) of the will. One of the prospect heirs says "It's about time then", but their lips are not moving and the muffled and unnatural ambience makes it even further clear that it is dubbed in. (00:08:55)

Of Sound Mind - S3-E12

Higgins: How fiendishly deceptive of you, Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent. To my great surprise, I see the sounds are emanating from what I thought was a harmless musical instrument.
Magnum: Cute Higgins, real cute.
Higgins: Why Magnum? Why do this terrible thing?
Magnum: Higgins, I'll have you know I used to be very good. I was the second best sax player in my High School band!
Higgins: Well, how many sax players were there?!
Magnum: ...Anyway. I just saw this in a pawn shop window and thought I'd like to try and get my chops back.
Higgins: May I suggest that your "chops" are irretrievable.
Magnum: Higgins, did you come here just to abuse me!?

Trivia: At the awards ceremony, three men seated at a table together resemble three detectives from 1970s TV shows.
