Operation: Silent Night - S4-E10
Audio problem: On the beach, TC is comforting Higgins who is depressed for the unceremonious ending of his sailing adventure. He tells him "It could have worked." There's a cut to Higgins and silence between the two, but you can spot at the edge of the frame that Roger E. Mosley's mouth is moving with no sound. (00:38:20)
Audio problem: Magnum poses as an envoy from Icepick. When he takes his feet off the desk, he says an "Okay" that the microphone struggles to pick up. (00:41:05)
Audio problem: During the first match, Rick shouts "Attaboy, TC!" from the corner but Larry Manetti pops in frame during the dodge, lips closed. (00:16:05)
Audio problem: When Charlie Amos says "No time to promote you" questioning TC's proposal to replace Leon, the sentence is dubbed in, having different audio quality from the rest. (00:13:55)
Audio problem: When some black dude randomly does a kamikaze wrestling splash from the upper deck of the boat, his "Raaaawwrr!" warcry is dubbed in. (00:41:05)
Audio problem: The woman Higgins seems to have developed an insta-crush on is dragged by two guys in an alley. She is protesting with rather high-pitched shouts but her lips do not move. (00:07:50)
Audio problem: When Waldo swings at the bad guy with the cane he just found, he does a war cry with his mouth hermetically shut. (00:42:05)
Audio problem: Waldo from the ground sort of grabs the arm of the villain who pummels him. There are at least 2 hit sounds that don't match with neither the ground and pound of the Bill Hader-esque villain, nor upkicks from the midget. (00:41:50)
Audio problem: When Rick turns towards Magnum asking "Basketball?" his lips still move in the next shot without a sound. (00:25:00)
Audio problem: Waldo admitted the breaking and entering. Getting in the car with Rick he says "Would you just listen to me for one second?" but his lips do not move. (00:07:40)
Audio problem: When Ox punches Magnum in the final act, the one oonf!-ing in pain is seemingly Denny Miller and not Tom Selleck. The canned sound when he goes KO a few seconds later is equally disjointed. (00:42:10)
The Elmo Ziller Story - S2-E20
Audio problem: TC moves to answer the door a split second before the sound of the knocking is dubbed in. (00:10:20)
Audio problem: The chopper is so noisy that people in it can barely talk to each other over the noise (as made clear abundant times in the series, including the previous episode when they "muted" Higgins switching off his intercom), but Thomas and TC are having a conversation while the helicopter is hovering meters above and Magnum is still with his feet in the parking lot. TC's lines are also neatly dubbed in. (00:39:00)
Audio problem: Kate answers the phone at the club saying "Hello?" without moving her mouth. (00:31:35)
Audio problem: Magnum is begging Rick for a favor, and finally agrees to his conditions. He says "Will you do me the favour?" and an off-screen crunching noise is heard. But Rick is eating a sandwich, he still has it in hand. Only a second later he puts that down and grabs a crisp, which would make that kind of sound. (00:28:30)
Audio problem: In jail, the phrase Magnum mutters under his breath, "Like a spook", is dubbed in with a second of delay on Tom Selleck's lip movements. (00:26:00)
Audio problem: Mrs Joan Gibson, shoes in hand, is waiting for Magnum after his surfski session. He tells her "I'll be honest with ya" and there's a cut. The audio quality in this second part of the conversation takes a dive for the first seconds before finally adjusting. (00:12:25)
Audio problem: Higgins interrupts Magnum when he's about to go paddle in the ocean. John Hillerman's voice is dubbed over, and it's easy to tell because the background noises almost disappear during his line, to resurface when he's done. (00:02:15)
Wave Goodbye - S2-E7
Audio problem: Magnum is talking with Nick, the traumatized Vietnam vet. When he says "Maybe I've seen the kill. Maybe...I've just", his lips don't move for the last words. (00:29:05)
Audio problem: Magnum approaches Rick and TC at the table playing cards. TC's voice says "Fourteen bucks up on ya", but Roger E. Mosley's lips don't match and are the audio is Out of Sync, since he continues moving his mouth while Rick is saying something. (00:14:00)
