Visible crew/equipment: While Erin is in the forest with Lancelot to set him free, once the doe runs off Erin gets up then bends over, and the bulging outline of the mic transmitter is visible at her back. (00:47:40)
The Thanksgiving Story - S2-E10
Visible crew/equipment: After John-Boy's suggestion to double up the wood planks works out, John tells his son to get some more, and as John-Boy gets another plank from the stack of lumber, a crew member is visible at the right side of the screen. (00:09:00)
The Thanksgiving Story - S2-E10
Other mistake: During John-Boy's entrance exam at Boatwright University, when he's given the pamphlet and history test questions, note three of the questions include the contraction "it's" which is incorrect within those given questions. Each question should have used "its" without an apostrophe. Additionally, the sign on the University's wall reads "keep your eyes on you own paper" instead of "your own paper." (01:00:35)
The Thanksgiving Story - S2-E10
Visible crew/equipment: After Olivia and John return home and tell everyone about John-Boy's possible surgery, when Esther goes to the kitchen Mary Ellen and Erin follow, and we can see the white T-mark on the rug where Mary Ellen had been standing. (01:05:55)
Factual error: After Ethel Richardson unwittingly reveals to Miss Pollard that there's a special meeting of the school board, when it cuts to John's truck returning home from the meeting, at the start of this shot a modern black car is visible at the top, right corner of the screen. (00:34:35)
Visible crew/equipment: During supper everyone is talking about Miss Pollard leaving, and when Mary Ellen says that she heard Miss Pollard crying, a crew member wearing a blue shirt is visible at the right side of the screen. (00:40:25)
The Bequest - S2-E12
Continuity mistake: While Reverend Fordwick is speaking to the congregation at Sunday's service, in all three of Esther's closeups we see the girl who is wearing a blue dress and brown hat sitting behind Esther, but in other shots that girl is seated two rows in front of Esther and it's Jason and Ben who are seated behind their grandmother. (00:24:30)
Audio problem: When Todd Cooper says "Good job" to Job-Bob while examining Jim-Bobs wooden plane int he boys' bedroom, it makes a very distinct echo that lingers for almost 30-sec, and then repeats very faintly in the next shot. (00:03:20)
Continuity mistake: When John-Boy finishes the roof repair he carries the ladder and places it beside the tree, then he notices the unlocked padlock on the garage door. In the closeup, the open lock is inserted through the latch facing the right, but in the wideshot the lock is inserted through the latch the opposite way. (00:25:25)
Visible crew/equipment: When John-Boy tells Mr. Rudge that he'd like to know all about his deceased son, during this touching scene there are closeups as Mr. Rudge's hand strokes the vehicle that belonged to his son, and we can see the reflection of the boom pole and mic, at least two crew members, filming equipment, and another vehicle on the polished chrome surface. (00:43:20)
Revealing mistake: Throughout most of the episode, The Car is a standard black with chrome trimming. But at the end it's suddenly beige when Johnboy and the kids are polishing it for their first ride.
Suggested correction: At the end it's not "suddenly beige." Mid-episode Mary Ellen mentions a family project to, "Design you a new-looking car" and Erin adds, "We can paint it." Soon John-Boy says, "I'd like to paint it a nice dignified shade of tan." In the penultimate scene John-Boy drives Hyder and Martha Rudge back home. Time passes offscreen. It cuts to the final scene with Mary Ellen and Erin placing their new cut/sewn seat covers in the newly painted tan car, and nobody is "polishing it for their first ride."
The Conflict - S3-E1
Visible crew/equipment: Before Martha Corinne gets in the truck, when Mary Ellen tells Jim-Bob and Ben to quit eating all the berries she takes the bucket away, and as Jason turns around we can see the shadow of the moving boom mic on the seat at the back of the truck. The reflections of crew are visible on the cabin's window. (00:31:30)
The Conflict - S3-E1
Visible crew/equipment: While Esther is pointing out of the features of the new house's bathroom to Martha Corinne, two tape marks are visible on the bathroom floor in front of John and Olivia's feet. Then after Martha Corinne turns the lights on and off a few times, as they all walk toward the kitchen there are white tape marks visible on the kitchen's linoleum floor. (00:53:50)
The Conflict - S3-E1
Other mistake: While Martha Corinne is standing in front of the bathroom sink in the new house, we see her height compared to the mirrored medicine cabinet above the sink, and Martha Corinne is quite a bit shorter than the mirror's knob, even with her bonnet. When she reaches up to open the cabinet door, in the next closeup from behind her she is now taller than that knob. For this specific closeup The Actress was presumably standing on a stool, in order to have the perfect shot of her turning her head, then being surprised by her own reflection in the mirror. (00:54:00)
The Conflict - S3-E1
Other mistake: After seeing the new house, Martha Corinne and Esther are at the back of the truck talking while John is driving home. During their conversation the truck is not actually moving (it's shaken to give an impression of movement), as we can see no change in scenery through the small rear window and at the left side of the screen in shots facing Esther. Additionally, Olivia is visible through the rear window sitting in the front seat, and she's wearing dangle earrings, which she does not wear in the scenes before or after (presumably it's the stand-in sitting in the seat). (01:01:10)
The Conflict - S3-E1
Continuity mistake: Boone Walton's truck license plate number is T98254. When Blake and the U.S. Marshals drive up for the final standoff, Blake's truck license plate number is also T98254. When John-Boy runs up to Blake's truck to confront him, his front license plate number has changed again to T79825 (same as earlier, when Blake unloaded explosives), which is also the same plate number that was on another man's truck near the start of the episode. Finally, when the shooting starts and Blake's truck swerves to a stop, the back plate number is T37982. (01:27:55)
The Conflict - S3-E1
Visible crew/equipment: After Blake and the U.S. Marshals show up for the final standoff, when John-Boy runs over to stop Blake's truck, the reflection of a crew member is visible on the left side of the windshield. (01:29:50)
Visible crew/equipment: Near the start, when John walks out of the barn he decides to check on John-Boy's car so he sets the bucket down. Just as John walks beside his son's car, the reflection of the camera and camera operator wearing a baseball cap is visible on the windshield, as the dolly tracks backward. Even while John checks it, we can see the camera operator's baseball cap turning a few times in the reflection. (00:03:50)
Visible crew/equipment: After John finishes checking on John-Boy's car, when it cuts to the kids in the bathroom, note the vanity mirror's reflection. In between Mary Ellen's and Jason's reflections, we can see an older man wearing black glasses, yellow shirt, and blazer, who is standing outside the bathroom's doorway. We continue to see the reflection of this crew member in the mirror when Jim-Bob and Ben go at each other. (00:04:25)
Visible crew/equipment: When John-Boy is on his way to Boatwright and Polly flags him down, just as John-Boy pulls over and then backs up, the reflection of the location's 9-light par bank lighting is visible on his car's windshield. (00:10:55)
