Continuity mistake: The person responsible for background shots while anyone is in a car driving, is grossly negligent in their continuity. Very rarely do Bones & Booth drive down a street without the background changing rapidly from urban to rural streets, and back. In a Season 1 episode, they're driving through a flat desert, with nothing in the background except scrub - and then suddenly, a mountain appears in the middle of the shot.
Revealing mistake: The producers have not taken enough generic shots of the places the gang hangs out at; the Royal Diner, & the Founding Fathers. If paying attention (or, watching multiple episodes in a row), one will notice the same people wandering down the street an awful lot! As well, outside the Royal Diner, there's a weird-shaped street corner, that appears to force all traffic in front of the Diner. This would be due to the size of backlot being limited, and certainly doesn't look right.
Character mistake: Sweets is a psychologist who deals with the team's problems. However he is constantly shown breaking patient confidentiality by mentioning what has been said in sessions.
Factual error: In the opening shot of the episode they show a plane landing at an airport, and it says Dulles International Airport on the screen. There is even a nice shot of the US Capitol building in the background, the problem is that Dulles Airport is about 25 miles from Washington, if the shot is real it was filmed at Reagan National Airport. Continuity mistake: When Zac is taking photos of the bones, the shot is flipped. Note the logo and writings on his jacket. (00:07:10)
Continuity mistake: When the director is looking at the 2 photos Booth hands him, there is a shot of the two photos one on top of the other neatly. Camera changes and they are no longer neatly on top of each other. The bottom one is sticking out and should have been visible in the previous shot. (00:18:40)
Continuity mistake: At the funeral, Bones places a rose on top of several other roses on the coffin of the murder victim. When the victim's parents approach the coffin to place their rose on it, most of the roses have vanished. (00:39:05)
Continuity mistake: Bones holds a red bag that is scrunched up for Angela at the start. Camera cuts and the bag is unfolded and being held open by Bones. (00:03:00)
Continuity mistake: When Booth and Brennan are speaking with the widow explaining that her husband was murdered. Brennan has her arms folded across her chest, when the shot changes and you see her in the mirror her arms are hanging down at her sides, then when it changes back her arms are folded again. (00:15:00)
Visible crew/equipment: When in the interrogation room after it is determined that The Man in the SUV is a victim, you can see a camera shadow on the wall by Bones. This shadow moves when no-one else does. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: When Bones and Booth are arguing in the bar about the wife having an affair, Bones has chopsticks in her hand that disappears. (00:18:00)
Continuity mistake: When Bones is arguing with Booth and Angela at the bar, we see 3 extras walk in to the bar behind Bones. Camera cuts and they have disappeared. (00:18:20)
