Cars (2006)

Corrected entry: When lightning McQueen finds DOC's 3 piston cups they all have the years on them, but at the end of the movie when CHICK wins there is no year engraved on the cup.

Correction: This information is not trivia.

Inside Man (2006)

Corrected entry: Detective Keith Frazier is told by his superior officer to bury the case because no money was stolen, and no one is pressuring him for answers. However just kidnapping 20-30 people at gunpoint is a very serious crime, and it's hard to see how the victims and the media would just allow the case to be buried.

Correction: Also keep in mind the feds would've been swarming all over this case. No way 30 plus people being held at gunpoint would ever get buried, or the mere mention of, in any way shape or form pressure be put on to bury it.

Correction: This is more argumentative than a mistake. The fact that no one was hurt or killed and nothing was stolen is generally going to be the biggest factor about whether to press charges. Add into that there was little to no physical evidence left behind and with all the witnesses unsure and varied about who was behind the siege. Frazier's superior was just being realistic to the situation. Even if he was fascinated to find out why this took place he may just not have the time and resources to dedicate to a case like this. It was unlikely in any event he would be even be able to bring an indictment against those responsible.

Tommy Boy (1995)

Corrected entry: Rob Lowe is a main character in the movie playing "Paul", but is not credited at the end of the movie.

Correction: While the role is fairly large to note not being credited, the practice is not uncommon. Many more actors and sometimes well known actors forgo their name in the credits for varying reasons (e.g. SAG would require they be paid, contractual obligations etc.).

Borat (2006)

Corrected entry: During the scene when Borat is taking his driving test, and he says "Look, there is a woman in a car! Can we follow her, and maybe make a sexy-time with her?" If you look closely at the person he is talking about, it is a bulky male driving a Ford truck. (00:20:25)

Correction: Two explanations, one that is the joke and Borat really thinks its a woman or two its a character mistake and has got it terribly wrong.

Corrected entry: Even though Johnny carries a gun in the movie, he never actually succeeds in firing it.

Correction: Observations are not trivia.

Donnie Darko (2001)

Corrected entry: When Rose Darko is talking to her friend about Jim Cunningham, her friend says "I can't believe he's single" But when Jim Cunningham is speaking at Donnie's school on the "Fear and Love" program, 'Patrick Swayze' is wearing his "wedding" ring.

Jazetopher

Correction: Some people still wear wedding rings even after they divorce. People do it for a variety of reasons.

Red Eye (2005)

Corrected entry: When Lisa wakes up after being hit in the head by Jackson, he says that he got her some aspirin, but you can't get aspirin on flights.

Correction: Whats to say Jackson didn't have the aspirin on him? Saying he got her some doesn't necessarily mean he got it from the flight crew.

Private Parts (1997)

Corrected entry: When Howard is on the verge of getting fired in Washington, his boss walks down the hall and says he is up two full points and Pizza Shed called and wants to buy time. Howard then says he loves Pizza SHACK and he eats there all the time.

Correction: This is almost certainly a character mistake any way you look at it. However I thought his boss said Pizza Shack as well. So either you perhaps made a mistake or it was misheard by Howard as well.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: We don't know what happened after the initial part of the journey. As we see when they get out they are also dressed in normal clothes meaning we don't know whether the handles were put back on, whether Homer fixed the doors etc.

Shrek (2001)

Corrected entry: When Shrek and Fiona are walking back to the castle, they both blow up the skins of animals like balloons. If they blew them up with air from their lungs, why do the balloons float up to the sky?

Correction: You cannot honestly expect to introduce factual errors into an fictional ANIMATED story that deals with green ogres and talking donkeys.

Correction: Spongebob made him a full sized sweater, no one in the world has that many eyelashes so the eyebrows were likely the next best thing. As it was meant to be a personal gift this might have been his only option. As for not seeing the eyebrows before, it's a visual joke that is done numerous times in the show. In one episode Patrick for a short scene had a much larger stomach and a lot more underarm hair and then all of sudden it goes back to normal.

Inside Man (2006)

Corrected entry: All of the hostages are considered suspects because they blend in with the bad guys, as they were all forced to don matching jumpers. The police are told that there is one woman with the criminals and that she has large breasts. So, while questioning one of the female hostage/suspects, the police ask her to unzip her jumper so they can check out how buxom she is. When she unzips her jumper, she is wearing all of her clothes underneath. This should have revealed her as one of the criminals - because the true hostages had been forced at gunpoint to remove their clothes before putting on the jumpers, which surely the true hostages would have communicated to the police.

Correction: There are two problems with this. Firstly we never see every single part of the plan. We know part of the plan was to confuse and disorientate the hostages. Taking off their clothes was one step but we don't see whether they told them to put them back on later and then put their jumpsuits back. Secondly the fact that she was wearing clothes is hardly solid evidence. It might arise suspicion but not much more.

Futurama (1999)

The Why of Fry - S5-E8

Corrected entry: When Fry blows his past self into the freezing chamber, Future Fry begins to disappear. He should not, as this is NOT a paradox. Fry would need to go into the future so he could go back in time to confront Nibbler. Fry should instead disappear after he tells Nibbler to change his mode of transport, as this change would prevent him from going back in time, which is a paradox.

Correction: Strictly speaking there is no way to prove what should or shouldn't be a paradox. Fry was changing the fabric of time and so unless we saw everything that happened we can't see what exactly pulled him back. However it is perfectly reasonable that he would disappear after letting himself be frozen because he would have stopped himself from being put into the future otherwise.

Frasier (1993)

Semi-Decent Proposal - S8-E21

Corrected entry: When Frasier first meets Claire, they have a flirtatious exchange speaking German. This contradicts the episode in Season 2 when Frasier discovers that Maris might be having an affair with her new Bavarian fencing instructor; in that episode, he says to the caller, 'I sorry, I don't speak German', and Marthe translates for him in the conversation with the instructor.

Correction: There has been six seasons worth of episodes between those two episodes. You don't think it's possible he learned a bit of German during that time?

Galaxy Quest (1999)

Corrected entry: Nobody knows Guy's last name prior to the end of the movie, yet Jason calls him Fleegman when they are planning to steal the beryllium sphere from the mine. Jason did NOT know Guy's last name prior to this operation, as Guy asked everyone what his last name was while in the transport pod and nobody answered, leaving Gwen to comfort him with, "Guy, you have a last name."

Correction: Just because he wasn't able to remember his last name at that point does not mean it was a deliberate mistake. I know through myself that sometimes I can't always recall someone's first or last name and then all of a sudden I can remember it. Unless Jason had been calling Fleegman repeatedly and it was proven he knew his last name very well, then its just assumption it is a mistake.

Lummie

Correction: There's sufficient time between the scene in the landing pod and the scene on the alien planet for Guy to tell Jason his last name, or even for Jason to ask him about it offscreen - in the pod, Jason had looked uncomfortable enough to want to finally learn this important piece of information about his "crew member."

Frasier (1993)

I'm Listening - S11-E6

Corrected entry: Frasier is with Niles at Cafe Nervosa, and he is telling him that he overheard Ronee make a date with Richard. Niles then argues that he wants no part of this issue and Frasier says, "You can't outscramble an egg" - when he should have say "unscramble". He was referring to Niles going back and undoing something already done. One could argue that we misspeak in real life, but this is a performance, not real life and it is a mistake of the performer (or the writers).

Correction: Real life or not, its a character mistake at best.

Chocolat (2000)

Corrected entry: Anouk's imaginary friend Pantoufle, when shown at the end, isn't a kangaroo. It's a wallaby.

Correction: This is very much a character mistake. It is very common for people to get them mixed up. Much like alligators and crocodiles.

Frasier (1993)

Dark Side of the Moon - S7-E22

Corrected entry: Frasier lives in a high rise, apparently on the 19th floor (his is 1901). When Daphne throws the other tenant's laundry off the balcony, we hear the crash of cars below within a second or two (she had earlier explained to her therapist that she caused a car accident). In real life, of course, it would have taken longer for them to reach the ground.

Correction: There is no evidence to say exactly what happened when she threw the clothes off but it doesn't neccesarily reflect it reached the car. One of the drivers might have seen the clothes being thrown off, been distracted and crashed.
