Corrected entry: When Matt Damon is picked up by the Zurich police as he sleeps on a park bench, the officers address him in German with Swiss accents. This is very different to the actual Swiss dialect used in Switzerland. German is only used when talking to Foreigners or Swiss from the French or Italian parts of the country. At this point the officers do not know that Matt Damon is American.

The Truman Show (1998)
Corrected entry: When Christof touches the huge screen with the image of Truman sleeping, his hand casts a shadow. However, the only light source in the control room is the screen itself. This reveals that the scene was composited using a blue screen.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Corrected entry: When the messengers ride out of the factory to put the posters out in the town, their motorbikes create the only tracks visible in the snow. It's not snowing that heavily, and it's not that late at night - so where are all the tire tracks? (You can see later in the film when Charlie, Wonka and Grandpa Joe are flying back to the Bucket household that it is quite an active town and that there would be plenty of tire tracks left from the day's traffic.).
Correction: It is far too presumptuous to say it's not that late or it hadn't been snowing before the messengers etc. Just because there was a bit of traffic in the day doesn't mean there would be a large number of tyre marks in the snow at night. We are only shown a few streets and there is nothing to prove that cars or vehicles were driving at night and in that part of town. We don't know what time it is so it's impossible to say cars were driving around and we don't know how much snow has been falling up to that point.

Corrected entry: How did Dot know where to find Flik and the circus bugs after they left the island? She didn't know where they were going, and never had set foot off Ant Island before.

Mean Girls (2004)
Corrected entry: Wouldn't someone recognize Regina's handwriting? Surely at least a teacher would recognize Regina's handwriting after a whole year, or a student would recognize it.
Correction: Regina's handwriting wasn't so distinct that someone would instantly recognise it. The color or the style wasn't something that would immediately alert them to it being Regina. A teacher may recognise it, but with the large number of students unless they were paying special attention to everyone's individual style, then there is no way to say with certainity someone would have been able to tell it was Regina's.

SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)
Help Wanted / Reef Blowers / Tea at the Treedome - S1-E2
Corrected entry: In "Help Wanted" you never see the anchovies pay, yet soon Mr. Krabs has a big wheelbarrow of money.
Correction: The scene is primarily just a collection of quick cuts and in turn we only see a bit of whats going on. We just don't see them paying, but in many of the shots of Spongebob in the kitchen they could have given the money to Krabs. Before Spongebob returned to the restaurant they might have even paid the money and was the reason they were getting so restless.

Futurama (1999)
Anthology of Interest 2 - S4-E3
Corrected entry: While it is understandable that a life of unrestrained gluttony is going to make human-Bender hugely obese, it also seems to roughly double his height. How does that happen?
Correction: Because the amount of fat would be a bit like a large pillow. When we see him on the stage he has gained a vast amount of weight and because of the extra weight it has expanded all around including below him. In any case its perception that he is twice as large in height. The position of the stage and the large amount of weight makes him look much larger.

Futurama (1999)
Corrected entry: In the scene with the judge, while he is "judging", he crashes. You can see that the judge is a Macintosh, running MacOS, yet one of the robots in the audience suggests pressing ctrl + alt + delete to fix him - this would only work if he was a PC, and not a Mac.

Goodfellas (1990)
Corrected entry: Although they are not really mistakes, these glitches were allowed to be put in the film: When Henry takes Karen on their first date to the club, he pays the door man at the side entrance at the club to let him in. If you look closely, the door man has to reach twice to take the cash from Henry. Then, when they are walking through the kitchen, Henry walks into one of the counters and bangs his hip.

Goodfellas (1990)
Corrected entry: During the scene where the crew is having a barbeque and Henry is describing how they were like cops for bad guys, the camera keeps going back and forth to Paulie eating a sandwich. The first two times he has no napkin anywhere in sight, the last shot of him one appears neatly tucked into his shirt, like a bib.
Correction: If you look closely you can see he is holding a napkin in his left hand when we first see him. With the napkin appearing, between the time we can actually see what's on his shirt and the napkin being there, about 30-40 seconds of film time passes. In that time he easily could have gotten another napkin given to him or used the one he had to put on.

Goodfellas (1990)
Corrected entry: When Jimmy is in the bar with Henry asking to go for a walk, he has a very distinctive tie on. Once outside, Jimmy asks Henry if "Morey tell his wife everything". Although they have just walked outside, Jimmy has a different tie on.
Correction: The shot where they are walking is immediately after the bar scene, but Jimmy never makes any mention of going for a walk, neither is there anything to suggest they have just left the bar. Jimmy's jacket has also changed in this scene, which means it's more likely that the scene does not take place after leaving the bar.

Goodfellas (1990)
Corrected entry: When Pauly and Jimmy go to meet Henry at Janice's apartment (his mistress), Henry offers them a drink which they refuse. This is a good thing considering that the Crown Royal bottle that can clearly be seen on a table behind Pauly's head is empty. The glasses around the empty bottle suggest that the table is used as a mini bar.

Correction: There is no set dialect that the officers must or have to use. It's presumptuous to say they wouldn't use a particular accent. Even if they only used German with Swiss accents for foreigners, the officers ask him for his papers when they wake him up, so they likely then knew he was a foreigner and not a local.
Lummie ★
The mistake wasn't complaining about the accent. He was talking about the dialect that they use. These are two different things.
