Continuity mistake: One of the 4400 is at the library looking at a newspaper headline on the computer. It says "Quicy Solarin..." A few shots later the same newspaper headline has been corrected to read "Quincy Solarin..."
Factual error: Dwayne Johnson is pursuing a thief. He gets into a Porsche Taycan and pushed the start button, and he can drive off. But you have to have the key fob in your pocket or bag. Porsche explains: "As long as your key is close when you grab the door handle, the system automatically checks the encrypted access code on the key. Once your code is validated, the door will unlock, and you'll be granted access to your vehicle." Dwayne had no fob, as the car was just parked.
Suggested correction:I assumed the car belonged to the guy who was stood just in front of it, so the fob would have been in his pocket, close enough to start it.
Maybe the owner was so stupid to leave the keys in the car. "Who can steal it, here in front of me?"
Maybe start it, but since he drove away, the fob would no longer be in his possession and although the car would continue running one time, it could not be restarted.
Factual error: The teams are at a US Coast Guard base. Two coasties are introduced. One as a chief (correct) and one as a "Captain." He is not a Captain, he is a Lieutenant. The USCG uses naval ranks, so the person with the two bars is a Lieutenant. A Captain is three pay grades above this, and uses eagles as insignia.
Other mistake: Mark is driving down the road in an old pickup truck. An inside shot shows the truck is bouncing and the scenery is passing by the left side of the truck. But the ignition switch is in the off position. A few shots later he pulls up to the research facility and the ignition is now on, which he turns off.
Continuity mistake: Brody fires six shots from his revolver after coming down from the tower. He ejects the shells on the beach. Then he squats to pick them up and there are many more than six.
Revealing mistake: Frank and Lily are swinging from a vine. As they reach the end of the swing, Frank manages to put one boot heel on the landing, but cannot get his footing to stay there. He lifts his foot repeatedly trying to get a better purchase. Except that as he is barely hanging on, lifting his boot even once would propel him backwards, much less lifting his foot several times without a back swing. He finally loses his purchase on the landing, but not because of the repeated attempts to lift his foot off.(01:09:40)
Factual error: Several times Chief Brody was seen to both transmit and hear the boat radio without him taking his finger off the mic button. If the button is pressed you can transmit, but not receive.
Factual error: All survival rafts - especially just taken out of its container - would have a tarpaulin or cover to ward against sun, rain, and especially to collect rain water. This raft has upright beams for just that purpose. So where is the cover?
Stupidity: Two things: 1. I find it inconceivable that there is only one Carbon Dioxide Removal Assembly (CDMA) and no spares for a two-year mission. 2. The crew has 20 days to fix an oxygen problem. The commander decides on a 10-day window. 5 days into that window they try to load oxygen from the Kingfisher spacecraft. One is lost into space. Zoe decides to go and fill the other one in the midst of a solar storm that will only last hours. Why take that chance? A few hours wait is still quite possible.
Factual error: Escorting Saanvi and her colleague to see Dr. Cooper, NSA Agent Tim Powell flashes a gold badge and shouts "NSA" to the officers. NSA agents carry ID Badges, but not gold shields. Further, they would never identify themselves as NSA personnel to outsiders.
Factual error: The sisters run out of fuel for the helicopter, which is then shown slamming down on the ground and essentially destroying itself. All helicopters are capable of autorotating safely to the ground in the event the engine(s) quit. Of course, that would not have been as dramatic.(01:05:15)
Perhaps the sisters (not being experienced helicopter pilots) couldn't use the autorotation properly.
OK, while that may be a possibility, if they have a helicopter pilot's license they would have had to demonstrate autorotation as part of both the curriculum and the practical exam. But listen, it's just a movie. The way they did it makes it more dramatic.
Other mistake: Black Widow and her sister steal a BMW. Getting away they damage the left rear quarter. A few cuts later they show the car again and it has no damage to the left rear quarter.(00:40:15)
Other mistake: A panel wagon stops in front of one of the Syria team participants in Atlanta. A man gets out and starts firing a rifle at the team member's car. The sound is of 14 rounds fired, but there are only nine muzzle flashes shown. Also, the bullets do strike the windshield, and some of them show pock marks, but none seem to go through the windshield.(00:11:35)
Other mistake: After completing a CIA sponsored operation in Syria, a helicopter comes in to exfiltrate the team. It lands and also takes off with full navigation lights and red beacons on. This would never be done in a combat area. Those light should have been off the entire time.(00:06:55)
Factual error: Dr. Boxer is told the experimented upon baboon died. He asks that an autopsy be performed. Autopsies are performed on humans. A post-mortem examination on animals is called a necropsy.(01:01:45)
Factual error: Joel is using a ham radio set to contact his old colony. A shot of the radio set shows it is set to "CW", which is Morse Code, but he is using voice. And the strength meter is on zero. It should be showing the signal strength.(01:24:00)
