Corrected entry: The criminals are carrying ten million dollars on the bullet train. They have placed the case in a luggage rack from where it is taken. The case is about the size of a normal aluminium attaché case. The largest denomination US bill in circulation is the $100 bill. It weighs approximately one gram. Ten million dollars would be 100,000 grams, or just over 220 pounds of $100 bills. Way too much to even fit in the case, and much less weigh as little as the actors make it to be, moving it around the way they do. Gold would be even heavier.

Sliders (1995)
Corrected entry: Professor Arturo is recruited to be the Mayor of San Francisco. When you see the dinner scene, they are drinking beer and munching on chicken wings. He comes back to his compatriots and states he had a dinner with champagne, caviar, veal cordon bleu, and crepe suzettes. What? It does nothing to contribute to the plot. (00:11:35 - 00:13:10)
Correction: It has to do with bolstering his own ego (usually overblown). So, Arturo fibbed and he played it up by describing his own idea of an expensive dinner (imo, pitchers of beer and hot wings sound better), which he was treated to by the other men, in order to woo him into the running.
I can see that. Thanks.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Corrected entry: While some suspicious agents are searching an office at the University, one of them shoots a woman in the back, and she falls face down. When Indiana Jones discovers the body, she is on her back.
Correction: If you watch closely, you will see that, for whatever reason, the killers have moved the body, dragging it a bit out of immediate sight of the doorway to the office.
Got it. I did not see that.

Devotion (2022)
Corrected entry: Ensign Goode comes home and starts to play with his wife while carrying their daughter. He is in his Navy Uniform. While hiding in the dark, his wife uses a flashlight and sees him. Only now he is in civilian clothes. (00:15:40)
Correction: It's not Ensign Marty Goode who has a wife and daughter, it's Ensign Jesse Brown, and Ensign Brown is not wearing his Navy uniform during this scene. When Jesse gets out of the car (00:13:25) he's wearing a leather bomber jacket with his Squadron patch, a plaid shirt, and blue trousers. When Jesse enters his home, he silently removes his bomber jacket then surprises his wife. He continues to wear the plaid shirt and blue trousers until the end of the scene, when Jesse opens the door for the police (00:15:40).
I saw the segment again, and you are absolutely right. I have NO idea what I was thinking when I posted that. Watching a movie too late at night, I guess. No excuse, sir.

Everything Is on the Line - S2-E10
Corrected entry: Scott wins the $200,000 individual competition. Among his rewards is $200,000. Phil gives Scott the championship belt and a toolbox supposed to contain the $200,000. But $200,000 at one gram per $100 dollar bill - the largest bill in circulation - is 44 pounds. Seeing how easily Phil picks it up, that toolbox is nowhere near 44 pounds.
Correction: Your maths is off. 2,000 $100 bills would weigh 2000g. 2kg, or 4.41lb.
You are so correct. My mistake. Thanks for bringing it up.

Pathfinder - S2-E4
Corrected entry: Gordo is in bed watching television. He changes the channel several times during the scene with a remote control. But the TV channel number always shows Channel 3 no matter what he does. (00:30:50)
Correction: The remote was for the VCR, sitting next to it. So he could watch the videotapes scattered about. God I feel old. That's how AV devices like that worked back then. You kept the TV itself on one specific channel and used the device/remote to change the channel and when you want to watch a movie...you just hit play or press record to record something. Ask your parents/Grandparents.
You are absolutely correct. I did not see that there was a VCR involved. Thank you for the correction.

Eternals (2021)
Corrected entry: Thena and some Eternals go to the Amazon. The opening scene shows the Amazon River lowlands. In the Amazon they speak Portuguese. But the Eternals speak Spanish to the natives. A part of the Amazon is in Peru where Spanish is spoken, but this is not the area where llamas (shown) typically live. Llamas are highland animals and are in southern Peru, not northern. (01:06:10)
Correction: That's not true that in Amazon forest they speak Portuguese, because actually the Amazon is a forest, not a state with an official language, which one contemplates a few of Latin American countries, including Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and most of them speak in Spanish. I found an article who studied languages in Amazon forest, there are around 240 languages around all the extension of the Amazon forest. Https://www.comciencia.br/dossies-1-72/reportagens/amazonia/amaz6.htm.
The explanation for the language spoken is that they are the descendants of the Spanish conquistadores that Druig controlled mentally in Tenochtitlan. I have no idea about the llamas part though.
Well, it's just a movie. A few slips here and there are inconsequential. Thanks.
OK. Noted. Thanks.

Eternals (2021)
Corrected entry: Cell phone service in the middle of the Amazon jungle? This scene is shown as "present day." Cell phone service in the jungle is not very probable. (01:11:20)
Correction: I do fundamentally agree, but feels more like a minor 'stupidity' of the movie; the movie itself does address the point with Kingo asking Sersi who's their phone carrier since his is dead, and the convo does break in the end. There is a close-up of the phone during their talk, I believe the logo of the brand is not visible but I could be wrong - it would surely have been a great opportunity for product placement, with that kind of quality.

Black Widow (2021)
Corrected entry: Black Widow asks her civilian contractor to procure a jet for her. All he could find was a beat up old helicopter. Which is exactly what she and her sister needed to get Alexei out of prison. They could not have done it with a jet. If they had got a jet they still would have needed a helicopter. So much for that.
Correction: You're assuming their original plan was to hover over the prison to be sitting ducks to attacks. It's also possible they expected Alexei to break out and meet them outside the prison or rendezvous at the jet. Not to mention the Quinjet has hovering capabilities if that's what Mason could get for her.
OK. You have a point.

Chicago Med (2015)
A Red Pill, a Blue Pill - S6-E14
Corrected entry: Natalie gives her Mom pills from a medical trial without authorization. When she brings her Mom into the ED and asked about what pills she has taken, she lies about the trial meds. When the pills need to be examined, Natalie goes to the car, takes out the trial pills from a pill organizer and shoves them loosely in her pocket. When she is later confronted about the pills she reluctantly takes them out of her pocket, but now they are conveniently inside a plastic pill bottle.
Correction: There was a scene after Natalie goes back into the hospital after getting the purse from the car where she is in the doctors lounge area (where their lockers are) and we see her take the pills from her pocket and put them into the bottle.
Oh, OK. Thanks.

Parasite (2019)
Corrected entry: The father and both siblings stealthily escape from underneath the table in the living room. They are all barefoot and have only the clothes on their backs. When they escape into the night they are all wearing sturdy shoes. (01:31:50)
Correction: Koreans leave their shoes at the entrance. They were probably there and took them out of camera, so it's definitely not something that could be considered a mistake but rather a custom of their culture.

Parasite (2019)
Corrected entry: The landscape bonsai is a very heavy rock. When the apartment floods the rock floats to the surface. (01:37:25)
Correction: You missed the point of the scene. The rock floating implies it's a fake reproduction. It was never real. It's kind of a microcosm of the whole story. It's supposed to bring good luck and wealth, but it's hollow and fake. Just as the Kim family's attempts to move upward and find wealth via the Park family ends up backfiring and meaning nothing in the end because it all goes to hell. (SPOILERS: The fact it's a fake also helps explain why it doesn't kill Ki-Woo when he's beaten over the head with it).
Oh. OK. But then why when it is originally found it is at the bottom of the water and not floating? At least that is what I remember. I could be wrong.
Simple answer: It's much more cinematic for it to be underwater and then rise to the top, revealing it in a dramatic way. It gives the reveal of it being a fake more impact. If he just randomly saw it floating, the moment wouldn't work as well. (But I'm sure you could also make an argument that it's being pushed around by all the debris floating around, the current in the water, etc. and it got pulled under for a few seconds).
I agree with you, but up to a point. I was referring to the fact that when he first got the rock he got it from the water and he got it from the bottom. Or am I remembering it wrong?
The mistake is 'deliberate' by account, because, quoting a page that is based on what the actor playing the son says; "In the script, the rock didn't originally float," Choi recalls. "But when we were shooting, director Bong was like, 'You know, I think it would be better if the stone floats up through the water.' I remember thinking, 'Whoa. What?' ", On the other hand, I wouldn't really extend this alleged bit of symbolism in one shot, to infer properties of the rock on other than that single scene; the rock has always been presented and described as heavy, and not the foam prop that it is, and if it were hollow the characters would have noticed and made it apparent earlier. Not even the director and commentators of this particular bit support this. As you say later in the discussion, it's just "more cinematic" to do so but it I don't believe there is reason to paint it as a reveal. Therefore I'd say this should not be corrected but rather changed as 'Deliberate mistake".
I'll agree with this. Thanks, Sammo.

Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Corrected entry: When Grace steals the pickup, she smashes the lock to jump start the vehicle. Later, when Grace is temporarily incapacitated, Daniela gets behind the wheel and turns the lock to start the vehicle as if it were still there.
Correction: The car you mentioned was destroyed killing Dani's brother. At that point they are using Sarah's car that they stole from her. You can even see the keys still on the ignition switch.
I must have missed that. OK.

Jessica Jones (2015)
Corrected entry: Trish gets into a fight at a NY State Court, and during the fight she breaks a gun into pieces. Yet a few moments before she could not break a chain to free herself. You would think that gun steel is harder to break than a chain. (00:43:50)
Correction: She doesn't "break it into pieces", she simply ejects the round from the chamber and the magazine so her opponent can't use it again easily, then throws it aside.
Got it. My bad.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)
Corrected entry: The helicopters seen in the HOA campground have US registrations. The place is supposed to be India. (01:49:45)
Correction: Helicopters can be transported to different countries, as made evident by the fact the scenes were filmed in Norway with US registered helicopters.
I agree with you. But considering the helicopter was supposed to be owned by a foreign oligarch, they should have made it look like it was of the appropriate foreign registry. Other programs do this.

The King of the Delta Blues - S2-E6
Corrected entry: A November 23, 1936 San Antonio, Texas scene shows a one way street in front of a hotel. The first one way street in the US was in Eugene, Oregon in 1941. (00:01:00)
Correction: Not really a mistake. In the context of the show, small historical details are being inadvertently altered as the Lifeboat agents track down Rittenhouse sleeper agents to prevent Rittenhouse from drastically changing American and World historical events.

Correction: This would be a factual error if we knew that the case only contained notes and gold. But we don't. We only see notes and gold but that doesn't mean that's all there is. Underneath them could be more valuable but lighter things (gems, bonds, drugs, etc). It doesn't really matter what. We know the contents are worth $10m because that's what we're told. How that value is realised isn't explained.
Good point. I see that now. Thank you.
