Battlestar Galactica mistake picture

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Apollo asks Zac, "How many of them can you make out?", Zac looks at his targeting screen and replies, "Four." However, the screen displays five. The ensuing battle proves Zach is correct with four, meaning the film makers inserted an incorrect targeting screen graphic. (00:10:30)

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When the Vipers come to Galactica's rescue, an interior shot shows a pilot hitting the 'Turbo' button. The next exterior shot shows two Vipers pulling upward as we hear the familiar sound of the Turbos- but no white exhaust is emitted by these two Vipers as normally seen when Turbo is used. Seconds later in the same shot, the sound is heard again as two more Vipers turn right, but they do display the white exhaust effect. (02:07:40)

Saga of a Star World (1) - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When the Galactica goes to battle stations, Starbuck's card game is broken up. He rises out of his chair in a close-up to try to keep the other players from taking back their money and leaving. In the next wide shot, he's still seated and rises again. (00:15:25)

Trivia: When Claire is in the Captain's quarters and turns to see the dead Winters' lying in his bunk, two shots that follow show Olivia first turning away from Winters, then emerging from his room into the passageway. Both of these shots were filmed in reverse, then played backwards to make them look more eerie - note the odd movement of her hair, especially in the latter shot. (01:22:40)

Audio problem: When the Stuka 'bombs' the bunker that Pink's father is in, we see it pass overhead, making the unique Stuka 'scream'. Then we hear the whistle of the bomb as it falls to earth, yet we still see the bomb is attached to the underside of the Stuka. The Stuka shown carries just the one bomb, so it isn't another one that is falling. The truth is that this Stuka is a remote-controlled miniature that did not have the ability to release its fake bomb, and the editors failed to avoid using the whistling sound until this shot was over. Factual error: As the girls are being hazed, the girl giving the orders is shown from the front and in the distance behind her are a red and white mid-1980s Chevy S10 Blazer, a white '90s VW Jetta, tho the events of the film occur in 1976. There's also a Pier One billboard in the background. Pier One wasn't incorporated until 1986. (00:20:30)

Factual error: After the scene where the girls are given pacifiers, the next shot shows the front of the black pickup with three guys in it. In a driveway to our left and well behind the truck is a silver 1990s Chevy pickup, but the events take place in 1976. (00:18:05)

Dead Bang (1989)

Continuity mistake: When John is shot in the neck, he falls to the ground near his brother. Watching the fall, it's obvious he falls so that his dead brother's head is about even with John's chest. But the overhead shot shows John's head is even with his brother's abdomen. (01:34:25)

Dead Bang (1989)

Continuity mistake: When Beck sits in the doorway of the patrol car, the sun is high in the sky, slightly forward and left of the car. But in a close-up as he says 'Well, I got him, didn't I?', the sun is low and to the right/rear of the car. (00:24:45)

Dead Bang (1989)

Continuity mistake: When Beck tackles the fleeing suspect after the foot chase, a wide shot shows Beck kneeling over the suspect with his sport jacket's bottom-half folded upward, exposing the lower half of the back of his shirt. In the next shot, close-up, the jacket hangs normally even though the two shots are in consecutive time. (00:23:20)

Dead Bang (1989)

Continuity mistake: When the patrolman is killed at the start of the film, 8 shots are fired. The first is fired with the pistol inches from the center of his chest while he is standing. The remaining seven are fired while he is lying on the ground (gun is pointed down at the ground where the unseen policeman lies). The shooter then runs off. Yet when the scene is investigated, there are five bullet holes in the rear door of the police car, all below waist level. (00:07:40 - 00:08:40)

Continuity mistake: During the chase against the helicopter, some exterior shots of the Charger show all its windows are fully open, but all interior shots (and a few exteriors) show the rear side windows are closed. (01:25:15)

Revealing mistake: When the Charger hits the red truck, the truck turns over with the assistance of a 'pipe cannon' (note the sudden eruption of white smoke from under the truck). This device is like a large gun, pointed down that fires a cylindrical wooden 'bullet' at the ground, and the pressure behind it forces one side of the truck upward, causing the flip. Evidence of its use is seen when the passing cop drives away and in the street is a perfectly circular 'dent' in the asphalt with a burn mark surrounding it. (01:12:50 - 01:16:20)

Suggested correction: A cannon roll uses a large device, usually a metal pipe that is pointed down, but it does not fire a "bullet" wooden or otherwise. It is just the force of the explosive charge focused downwards that causes the cars to roll over.

A cannon roll shoots out a wooden log to flip a vehicle, it's not just shooting out air.

Bishop73

This is just nonsense, a wooden log would be too dangerous to use, would be highly conspicuous on screen, and would take up room inside a vehicle.

Jukka Nurmi

Then you don't know how they use to do car stunts. It does take up room, but even modern methods do. Cars have to be modified heavily and of course it's dangerous, they're flipping a car with a driver inside. Film makers do everything they can to avoid the stunt car from being detected (just the same way they do everything that can to avoid a dummy being detected). Here's a article that talks about car stunts before the pneumatic flipper. Visible crew/equipment: When Mary leans into the Charger to turn off the CB radio, the multiple filming lights and moving crew members are visible reflected in the car door. (01:14:40)

johnrosa

Continuity mistake: When Deke stands up to defend Mary after Larry has pushed her down, a tire & wheel can be seen lying flat to Deke's left, very close to the car. When Larry walks away moments later, the tire/wheel is significantly further forward and left of the car despite nobody touching it. (01:15:00)

Continuity mistake: When the Charger pulls into the bar/pool hall's parking lot, the sun is on the side of the building that the Charger is driving past. The shot changes to watch the car approaching from the road and now this same side of the building is in heavy shadow. (01:00:30)

johnrosa

Continuity mistake: During the first chase with the Charger, interior shots looking forward show the car has black windshield wiper frames, but shots from the front looking at the windshield show silver frames. (00:57:25)

johnrosa

Continuity mistake: As the Impala approaches the drawbridge, the sun is on the right side of the car for most shots, but when the camera is behind the car looking at its tail, the sun is on the car's left side. (00:46:15)

johnrosa

Revealing mistake: When the Impala turns left in front of the Delta Charter bus, you can see a deep, C-shaped rut on the soft shoulder of the road at the far right that was made on a previous take (the scene has the car following a nearly identical path as the prior take). (00:25:30)

johnrosa

Continuity mistake: At the end of an argument, Mary turns to bite Larry's shoulder. As she turns, the view out the side and rear of the car is of a wire fence surrounding an open, golden field. But the moment of her actually biting Larry has a totally black background- possibly shot while the car was stationary with a tarp behind it. (00:29:00)
