Revealing mistake: When Batman flees from Gordon after their first meeting, he leaps across an alley and catches himself on the railing on a fire escape. This fire escape fails, dropping him (as well as the clothing left to dry on the railing). Batman grabs the next railing and again, this second fire escape collapses. Exactly the same as the first, with the same clothing falling off. When he climbs onto the 'third' fire escape, we see he's only come down one level, not two. The scene was artificially lengthened by using two perspectives of the same stunt. This isn't the same as showing one explosion from multiple angles because it is timed/edited precisely to appear as a longer fall in continuous time, not as repetition of the same moment.

Revealing mistake: After the XO orders all stop, we see a close-up of the ship's yoke being pulled back. The next wide shot shows the interior as the bow of the sub is rising, and just before this shot ends, note the console that the man with headphones is working at. A pair of crewmembers cross paths in the foreground, then the entire console wobbles, proving it isn't attached to the floor at all. (01:09:00)

Revealing mistake: When the Russian pod is launched, a wide shot shows the Monolith at top/right with Jupiter in the background and both the Leonov and Discovery at bottom/right with the pod nearby. Revealing mistake: During the "Dawn of Man" sequence, the ape-man scenes were shot on an indoor stage with projected background images on a huge screen behind the stage. The screen itself was a highly reflective cloth. In most shots, it is quite convincing, but in several (especially when facing the aggressive, victorious group during the first fight, then again when facing the tool-using group in the last fight), the rear screen appears to be a patchwork of smaller pieces of cloth as very obvious puzzle-like shapes of varying reflectivity appear in the sky. Once you notice them, it's incredibly distracting. It was originally parallel strips, but they were VERY visible as vertical lines so they were torn into a patchwork to make lines less obvious. Revealing mistake: Just after the Buick spins around to knock the trailer loose, we see the Buick speeding away backwards alongside the truck. If you look carefully you can see the REAR tires are steering, not the fronts. This car was modified with the body mounted backwards on the chassis because the transmission only has one reverse gear, so to get the speed and handling needed, the car had to be going 'forward' with a 'backward' body. Revealing mistake: After Dualla shoots herself, Gaeta hobbles back into the room. While the effects people made sure his real lower leg was erased from view behind his upper leg, they forgot to remove the shadow of the lower leg being cast upon the steel floor. The shot then changes away and returns to find the shadow has now been fixed the second time we see it.

Revealing mistake: When Dr. Mahattan and Silk Spectre are on Mars and they are climbing upward in his gyrating clockwork structure, a shot from well above, behind and to the right of them contains some terrible CGI work of Silk Spectre walking in a completely unnatural, very mechanical way.

Revealing mistake: As Ducard slides down the icy slope toward the cliff, a brief shot from Bruce's viewpoint shows Ducard from a top-down perspective, revealing that Liam Neeson has been replaced by a stuntman with far more hair and no sign of Liam's receding hairline. (00:40:05)

Revealing mistake: The Batcave was a stage set with no real exit for the car. So in many episodes where a shot is looking into the cave from the darker tunnel as the Batmobile approaches and passes to our right, the rear end of the car jumps upward and tire skid marks appear on the floor as the driver slams on the brakes to avoid hitting the studio wall that is out of the shot, while the audio suggests the car is still accelerating.

Revealing mistake: Most of the first season's episodes follow a standard outline where, after the opening credits, Batman and Robin arrive in the Batcave via the Batpoles, run and enter the Batmobile and drive off, along the winding, dusty roads toward Gotham, then arrive in front of City Hall, exit the car and run up the stairs. But very quickly it becomes obvious that every bit of this is the same footage used over and over. As they get in the car, it's on a black platform which vanishes as the car starts moving. The same cloud of dust appears as the car's rear heads into the distance on the winding road, and the same crowd of people are in front of City Hall, nearly every episode.

Revealing mistake: After leaving the Batcave for the first time, the Batmobile is shown from overhead, cruising down the road. It's painfully obvious the occupants are not Burt Ward and Adam West. (00:03:50)

Revealing mistake: Whenever the moving Batmobile is emitting flames from the afterburner, like when it leaves the Batcave for the first time, an object is hung below the exhaust port that resembles a camcorder. The gadget is part of the equipment added to make the car shoot flames while moving. During the TV series, flames are only seen in close-up of the car motionless, as this was a prop comprised of a copy of just the last few feet of the car. On TV, the car's rear license plate is visible. In this film, it's partially blocked by the added equipment. (00:03:35)
