Continuity mistake: Before Alice enters the building, you can see part of her newspaper sticking out of her bag - the area that is visible just contains text. After she enters the building, there is another shot of her from behind, and now the paper is showing part of a picture and the barcode. (00:06:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene outside the hospital, when Gale and Sidney try to make the protagonist reconsider her plan to leave, Courteney Cox's hair changes position in front of either shoulder several times between shots.
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the movie, when all three are crawling through the Lincoln Tunnel, they are almost waist deep in water. Yet, the Secret Service lady's jeans change from dry to wet and back again. The same when she is chased back through the tunnel, her and the Secret Service guy's trousers are dry.
Continuity mistake: In the scene outside the hospital, after Nick Poole has been shot, Remy Bressant picks up the bottle of liquor, which was capped by Patrick Kenzie and drinks straight from the bottle. The bottle has mysteriously uncapped itself.
Continuity mistake: When Smith and Connor arrive at the Nakamoto tower and are exiting the elevator on the 46 th floor, you can see in several shots that Smith's suit is wet on the shoulders. However as he was going up the elevator the suit wasn't wet at all and even during the whole scene in the 46th floor, the suit changes from wet to dry as angles change.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Beatles are in bed sleeping, and Ringo is getting pulled out of bed by the ring, he falls out of bed, and brings the blankets with him. In the next shot however, the bed clothes are back on his bed.
Continuity mistake: In the last scene on the roof when Holly Hunter shoots the serial killer, he falls backwards. The gun is in his left hand and the path is next to his left hand. The camera then goes to the rear of Sigourney as she walks toward Holly. Only now the serial killer is on the other side of the path and the left hand holding the gun is no longer next to the path.
Continuity mistake: After Mr. Palmer walks over and tries to pick up Claude Mulvihill's gun (which Jack kicks away) we see Jack's hat on his left. In the next shot as Jake picks it up it's now on his right. (01:19:40)
Continuity mistake: When Harrison Ford is watching his wife laying in the bathtub ready to drown, the camera shoots her head several times between cutaways to Ford and the running water. Watch her head relative to the top of the tub in the various shots. In some her head is much higher than in others yet her body never moves.
Continuity mistake: When they are in the library after they found out Stan committed suicide, it shows Beverly stand up but when it cuts back to her she is sitting down and stands up.
Continuity mistake: After Esther suffocates Daniel in the hospital, Kate slaps Esther in the face. The hospital staff then hold down Kate and she drops her iPhone, screen down. The iPhone starts ringing, even though the screen is facing the floor. In the next scene, it is still ringing, but with the screen facing upwards.
Continuity mistake: After Brenda hears a noise, she puts her book down next to the candle, and walks to the door. When she gets to the door, the book is now by the opposite side of the candle. (00:52:50)
Continuity mistake: In the photo of Eye's daughter, there is a fold. When it is shown in close-ups, the fold moves around.
Continuity mistake: When Julia Costello goes to leave Ned Campbell's hotel room he grabs her by her upper arms. She did not even flinch, which considering she had recently been shot in the upper left arm is a little strange.
Continuity mistake: When De Niro confronts Ashley Judd in her motel room, he knocks all but a few hangers off of the metal coatrack. While the camera goes back and forth while they argue, the remaining hangers disappear and reappear several times.
Continuity mistake: When Harrison Ford is on the rooftop and the suitcase accidentally opens, the Statue of Liberty goes flying off the rooftop and on to the ground, several stories down. In the next shot, the little statue is perched at the edge of the rooftop. Also, the clothes that fly away magically reappear next to the suitcase a shot later.
Continuity mistake: When Emily is spying on Cody on the sightseeing bus, she sits down and the camera goes to a close up of her face and we see small worm like camera device comes out of the right side of her sunglasses, but when it cuts to the next shot, further back from her face, we can see the device has disappeared even though no time has passed between shots. Continuity mistake: When Angelina Jolie destroys the mirror, you can see (just freeze the shot for an instant) that the mirror has been broken completely. Yet, in the next shot, she watches her reflection and there's still a lot of mirror unbroken. (01:31:30)
Continuity mistake: Anderson (Gene Hackman) visits Clinton Pell's wife and she's talking about Genesis 9, verse 27. In the first shot he's standing right behind her. In the next shot he stands on her left side. Then again right behind her.
Continuity mistake: When the antimatter explodes in the helicopter, the the shock-wave blasts off part of the roof inside St. Peter's Basilica, above the alter, obliterating everything below. However, in the scene where the Camerlengo self immolates himself at the altar close to the end of the movie, there is no evidence of the shock wave earlier, the candles are burning, oil lamps are lit and alter is intact.
