Continuity mistake: In the scene outside the hospital, when Gale and Sidney try to make the protagonist reconsider her plan to leave, Courteney Cox's hair changes position in front of either shoulder several times between shots.
Continuity mistake: Riley puts the red hard-covered book and two others into the box, but puts the same books into the box when Gabby starts to help. (00:13:35)
Continuity mistake: When Joey is talking to Voight about the puzzle box and Voight tells him to "Keep going," pay attention. It's kind of hard to notice, but if you look closely, in the over-the-shoulder shot facing Joey, you can tell that Voight is standing straight, facing Joey before it cuts. When it cuts to the opposite angle, suddenly Voight's body has rotated about 90° (to his right).
Continuity mistake: Simi enters the bedroom and the upper half of the bedspread is smooth. Aunt Claudia is holding a book with both hands, so she is not touching the bed. The front (somewhat aerial) view of the bed shows that the upper part of the bedspread has multiple ripples. (00:17:55 - 00:18:42)
Continuity mistake: Jackie holds her pen as she takes notes. Next, her pen is set on the legal pad and her hands are on her lap (below the table and pen). The camera returns to Jackie, and she continues to hold the pen as she takes notes the whole time. (This allows for other questionable variations that could occur off-screen, if enough time.) Continuity mistake: Young Norma Jean is shown a photo of her father placed at the head of her bed. It has him facing right and there is a large white defect in the photo at the upper left corner. When the photo is "talking" to her in a succeeding scene, he is facing left, and the defect is on the upper right corner.
Continuity mistake: The gingerbread man cookie falls into the coffee cup, and the top is barely below the rim. Looking into the cup, the top of the cookie is much further down but does not fall this fast. The coffee cup is about half-full. Jackson takes a drink. The cookie does not interfere with the flow of the coffee into Jackson's mouth. When Jackson lowers the cup from his mouth, there is no visible cookie. (00:08:20)
Continuity mistake: The old man bit JP's right arm about 8" above his wrist or a few inches below his elbow. When JP moved and sat down, the bite mark was a few inches lower (about 3" from his wrist). JP also had his right arm down at an angle when he was bit, but (when he had his arm bent upward at the elbow) there's no blood toward his wrist. (00:37:36)
Continuity mistake: When the boat approaches the Karnak, look at Salome Otterbourne; she is standing up in the shot from the right of the boat, she is one of the last ones to do that in the shot from the other side. (00:34:45)
Continuity mistake: After Kath pulled up to the cabin, the position of her car changed. Kath drove parallel to the fence before turning to the right about 45° toward the front door, but when she got out of her car, its rear end was perpendicular to the fence. The angle of the shot of Al coming out the front door would also place Kath's car more pendicular to the cabin instead of at an angle, and parallel to the fence instead of at an angle. Continuity mistake: Will was not wearing sunglasses when he walked up to Knuckles' fence to look between the boards. When the camera shifted to the opposite side of the fence, the person looking through the boards (presumably, Will) was wearing sunglasses. Continuity mistake: At the clothing rental store, Maigret puts the box with the victim's bloodied dress on the counter. He leans against the counter with closed fists, but in the next shot, we see Gérard Depardieu leaning with his open hands flat instead. (00:17:00)
Continuity mistake: Diana is meeting a client who is really into fisting, and does not take nicely her refusal to be on the receiving end of his knuckles. As he shoves her to the floor, her hands are plainly on sight, and they hold nothing, but conveniently when she is on the floor in the next shot she is holding the mace spray can. (00:14:15)
Continuity mistake: Henry's scarf is hanging down loosely and appears to be pinned together near the bottom (by his chest). While Henry is running outside, his scarf goes from loose around the front to having an obvious knot over his right shoulder. (00:02:16 - 00:02:43)
Continuity mistake: Francis pistol-whipped Leonard and - although there initially was no red mark - a red mark could be seen when Leonard attended to Richie's wound. Not long afterwards, the red mark was gone (but should have still been there). (00:21:35 - 00:35:06)
Continuity mistake: While Ben is talking to Eloise, his glass of alcohol is about three-fourths full, but when he lifts the drink to his mouth, his glass is almost empty. (00:07:20)
Continuity mistake: Solomon put the rope around his waist underneath his coat, but when he was walking through the woods the rope was tied over his coat. Also, the knot would start out in the front of his left side but change to behind his back even though the rope was loose (not taut) behind him. (00:01:55 - 00:02:26)
Continuity mistake: Various views of Chase's dead body were inconsistent. From the two boys' perspective, Chase's body was at the edge of the water and the sun was shining on the water and along/near his left leg. An aerial view showed a canopy of tree leaves over the area, meaning the sunshine would not be able to penetrate the thick tree cover. From the sheriff's view in the tower (unobstructed by trees), the position of Chase's body relative to the fire tower was too far away and at the wrong angle. (00:03:00 - 00:04:08)
Continuity mistake: When The Artist is talking on the phone to Detective Mary Kelly, sometimes his long, wavy hair behind the phone is flat and other times fluffy (extending wider than the phone). (00:14:45)
Continuity mistake: Laura's hair was (flipped) above her shoulders when she brought Cody to school. When she was in her car, her hair was much longer, going at least a couple or few inches down her back.
