Continuity mistake: Glenn Close's outfit changes four times during the same courtroom scene, while she is giving her opening statement in front of the jury.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Ashley says that they've got CDs in the tanning salon you can see Ashlyn keeping a cream tube on the table with her right hand. In the next shot you see her continuing the same action with the left hand.
Continuity mistake: When the Dude is in Jackie Treehorn's estate, he pencils over a pad of paper to see what Jackie wrote down while he was on the phone. He then hurriedly crumples up the piece of paper and shoves it in his wallet. Then, when we see the Chief of Police of Malibu looking through the contents of The Dude's wallet, the paper is there, neatly folded in fourths.
Continuity mistake: When Silent Bob renders the demon disabled by using the anti-odour spray, you see him take the spray out of his coat and spray with his thumb. However, it cuts to a front view, and he is clearly seen using his index finger. It then cuts to Bob's rear, and he is, again, spraying with his thumb.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the film Mickey Rourke smashes up a pile of ice, which mysteriously reappears in its unsmashed form seconds later.
Continuity mistake: When Fletch and Stanwyk first meet and Stanwyk asks Fletch to come to his home and hear his proposal, Stanwyk is wearing a suit/tie on top but is wearing jeans on the bottom. In the next wide shot as they leave the beach, and again in the next scene as they arrive at Stanwyk's house, he is wearing suit pants. (00:04:50)
Suggested correction: Stanwyck is never wearing jeans in any of the scenes, he's always wearing matching suit pants.
Continuity mistake: When Freddy is controlling Spencer in the video game you see from Freddy's view that his legs are crossed on the table. When it cuts to in front of Freddy he has one foot only on the table. (00:42:25)
Continuity mistake: The tape is labelled "Vincent Grey" in the first shot, but the label disappears in the next shot. (01:11:32)
Continuity mistake: In the flashback to the death of the headless horseman, when the horseman's steed gets shot and falls to the ground, the blood and the wound are on the right side of the horse...later in the scene when the horse is seen again, the wound is on the left side of the horse. Continuity mistake: The first time Helen is at Cabrini Green and she goes through the medicine cabinet into the other apartment she has to actually crawl through the small opening in the wall where the medicine cabinet is, but when she goes back at the end to find the baby the hole in the wall has grown considerably, she just crouches and walks right through.
Suggested correction: The hole became bigger because the Candyman is there now. Do you expect him to crawl?
I don't expect him to have to go through the opening at all since he is the Candyman. He can get into places without walking through a physical opening.
Continuity mistake: We see Tom standing in the river catching fish, yet when they start running from the bear, the water is gone.
Continuity mistake: Watch the Mustang blow up at the beginning of the movie. It looks to be about an 88 GT convert. When it is shown after the explosion it changes to an 86. Two completely different looking cars. Check out the headlamps. (00:17:50)
Continuity mistake: Morgan Freeman falls in a water hole while chasing the bad guy. In the next scene his shirt is completely dry again.
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene where Alex's partner is in the car with the bad guy, when she pulls her gun and he hits the brakes sending her into the dash she is not wearing a seat belt. Immediately after, when the car goes over the side of the dam, the shot looking down on her shows her with a seatbelt on, the reason she didn't fly from the vehicle. (00:04:10)
Suggested correction: She's wearing a seat belt at 00:03:50 when he's trying to get some top from her. He's pulling on her head and that's when he finds the Bug in her ear. And you can see she's wearing a seat from 3 mins to the time she's hanging from the bridge in the car. 00:03:50-00:04:11.
Suggested correction: I just rewatched - she is wearing her seatbelt when he slams on the brakes, and she hits her head.
Continuity mistake: When Emma is protecting John at the top of the stairs and he says, "I didn't kill anyone," her hand is at her side. In the next shot, her arm is raised in front of him. One shot later, it's back at her side. (00:23:40)

Continuity mistake: When Eddie is hiding with the golf club, there is a blue chair which got knocked over during the murder. But a few minutes later when Eddie is peeking round the corner to check for intruders, the blue chair is magically standing upright again.
Continuity mistake: When Hi, Gale and Evelle are sitting in the trailer talking about robbing the bank, watch the newspaper on Hi's lap. It goes from being folded to being fully opened in his hands between shots.
Continuity mistake: When in James Mason's house in South Dakota, Cary Grant writes a message to Eva Marie Saint on a matchbook from which several matches are missing. When Ms. Saint subsequently reads the message the matchbook is full.
Continuity mistake: There's an oscillating fan near the ceiling that alternates between running and not running from one cut to another in one scene.
