Continuity mistake: At the orgy a man walks through a door with a naked woman on each arm, then the camera cuts so that Tom Cruise is in the shot with the man and two women approaching him. In this shot one of the women is a different woman from before.
Continuity mistake: When Frankie is about to receive the first stigmata (when sitting in the bath), a pigeon suddenly flies up. When she takes a piece of a feather that flew into the water, you can already see stigmata marks on her right-hand wrists.
Continuity mistake: The bottle of Peach Schnapps that Trip (Josh Hartnett) brings to the dance is alternately full and half empty during the scene. When Trip pulls it out, it is new and unopened. He hands it to Lux to drink, at which time it is nearly empty. He then drinks from it, and it is about half-full. He next hands it to the other couple, at which time the bottle is nearly full again. Continuity mistake: When Nicholas Cage is being escorted to fetch the roll of film from his car, there are a few scenes where the accountant is holding a gun to Nicholas's head. When the camera is directed at the accountant, two hands can be seen grasping the gun, but when the camera is facing Mr Cage, initially there are two hands but after the next switchback there only appears to be the one! Continuity mistake: When Silent Bob renders the demon disabled by using the anti-odour spray, you see him take the spray out of his coat and spray with his thumb. However, it cuts to a front view, and he is clearly seen using his index finger. It then cuts to Bob's rear, and he is, again, spraying with his thumb.
Continuity mistake: The tape is labelled "Vincent Grey" in the first shot, but the label disappears in the next shot. (01:11:32)
Continuity mistake: In the flashback to the death of the headless horseman, when the horseman's steed gets shot and falls to the ground, the blood and the wound are on the right side of the horse...later in the scene when the horse is seen again, the wound is on the left side of the horse. Continuity mistake: When John Travolta is searching the dead woman's house he has latex gloves on. When he pulls out his gun and heads into the basement, his gloves are gone when he turns on the light. Then they reappear a few seconds later.
Continuity mistake: In the photo of Eye's daughter, there is a fold. When it is shown in close-ups, the fold moves around.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie when Michael chases the delivery truck in a red Ford Contour, he crashes into a bus and the car spins several times. If you watch closely you can see that after the crash the left headlight is very badly damaged and the right one is missing, but the next scene shows the car almost undamaged.
Continuity mistake: When Nell arrives at Hill House, after Mr. Dudley opens the gate and she drives through, between shots the amount of brown leaves on the ground around the gates increases.
Continuity mistake: After the priest writes down 666 on a piece of paper, he holds it upside down to reveal that it is 999. When we cut back to him a few seconds later, the numbers look completely different. (01:05:40)
Continuity mistake: When Molly ties Tanya's whip around a bar to let herself down from the air duct, you can see as she slides down that the whip is knotted at intervals. But a few moments later, when the severed hand draws the whip back up, you can see that there are no knots in it.
Continuity mistake: In the scene in DC, when Kay is walking in the park and encounters Dutch on the bench, we see a man in a black shirt with red lettering walk by twice behind the shots over Dutch's shoulder. You can also see the man at a further distance in the background and then closer on the next shot.
Continuity mistake: As Corso leaves Quinta Fargas, he barely dodges a speeding car aiming to ram him. Clasping his canvas bag tightly, never dropping it, he presses his back against a large tree. As the camera cuts to a close-up, the bag is suddenly a yard away from him, on the ground.
Continuity mistake: When they go to the famous writer's hometown, the mayor is taller than the writer then later he is shorter than him.
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Nick Chen (Chow Yun-Fat) talks to Jack (Jon Kit Lee) at the NYC Correction, the shot facing Nick shows him grabing Jack's face by the chin. The next shot, facing Jack, shows Nick's hand around Jack's neck. The final shot facing Nick again shows his hand back on the chin. (00:58:50)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Amelia is driving the truck full of policemen to the scene of the second (Mrs. Rubin) murder, the shot changes a couple of times before it settles looking through the front windscreen at Amelia. Through the rear windscreen of the truck, you can clearly see the highway and all the cars on it behind them. Amelia turns the steering wheel sharply to the left, and you hear the screeching rubber-tyres-on-tarmac noise as if she really had swerved left, but the scene of the highway behind them seen through the rear screen does not alter at all - as if she was just going in a straight line all the way.
Continuity mistake: When Maggie talks to Eddie Bo Smith Jr. (the Chicago cop) outside the meeting of "receivers", you can see the cop's breath when he speaks, but not Maggie's.
Continuity mistake: After Hall has been shot in the leg in the simulation of LA 1937 the hole in his trousers and his injury disappear, as seen in the fight sequence at the pool. Hall even uses his leg to hit the bartender in the stomach, what would have made this very painful if he had been shot there.
