Season 1 generally

Continuity mistake: When the SS Minnow is shown beached on the deserted island, it's seen leaning on its left. At the ending credits, the Minnow is shown completely upright.

Two on a Raft - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: After the shark bites off the rest of the paddle, leaving the handle, Gilligan hesitates a second, sees no paddle, and begins swatting at the shark. A moment later, in the closeup, he's paddling, hears the bite again, and pulls the handle up, showing the paddle is gone.

Movie Nut

Home Sweet Hut - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: While the castaways are standing around while their clothes dry, Mary Ann is not wearing any shoes. As the scene continues she is shown standing wearing black shoes. (00:05:00 - 00:06:00)

Snag.1

The Big Gold Strike - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: As the raft starts to sink, Lovey goes into the water on the back side of the raft. When the camera is in a close up of Mr. Howell, she's sitting beside him again. Then she's neck-deep in the water in the next wide shot.

Movie Nut

Man with a Net - S3-E7

Revealing mistake: Near the end of the episode, all the castaways are passed out cold when Lord Beasley finally catches his butterfly. Right after saying the line "That's the trouble with you Americans - you simply don't know how to hold your tea" as he's exiting off camera, Mrs. Howell starts to open her eyes slightly, but then quickly shuts them again. Perhaps she thought the cameras stopped rolling.

Professor Roy Hinkley: Listen, Gilligan, how far down was she? How many feet?
Gilligan: Professor, in navy circles, we don't say "feet." We say "fathoms."
Professor Roy Hinkley: All right, how many fathoms?
Gilligan: Oh I don't know, about 15 feet.

Show generally

Question: Why did the Howells, Ginger and Mary Ann have so many changes of clothes with them? It was only a three hour tour.

Answer: Bob Denver answered this when he was on a talk show hosted by Pat Sajak. He said they were going to write into an episode where the castaways found all these clothes, but it got too complicated, so he said, they decided, "who cares, it's only a TV show," and forgot about it. So the writers and actors even asked this, they just never bothered to address it.

Answer: I've been binge watching it, and a couple of times trunks with costumes have washed ashore, and in one episode the professor figured out how to make thread for weaving cloth.

Answer: It was a running gag about how out of touch with reality they are, because they are so rich, that they think they need to bring an extensive wardrobe with them everywhere they go.
