Continuity mistake: In the stable, just as Aragorn takes Brego's lead rope from the Rohan, in the shot of Brego moving backward, the two knots at his halter are seen. In the next shot as Aragorn continues soothing Brego he moves in closer, the two knots seen differ from the previous shot and there is no excess rope on Brego's left knot. However as Aragorn unties the knot on Brego's right, the excess rope of his left knot is seen, which differs from the second shot. (01:31:00)

Continuity mistake: The first two shots of people leaving Edoras are shown, and in the wide shot Éothain and Freda are seen on their horse, as well as the people in front and in back of them. Next are shots of Theoden and Gamling speaking, and the Aragorn and Éowyn confrontation. Then in the next shots the people are still seen leaving Edoras, including Éothain and Freda with the same people in front and in back of them as was seen in the much earlier shot! Continuity mistake: While rescuing young Will, as Norrington shouts, "Man overboard! Man the ropes. Fetch a hook," Governor Swann is leaning over the starboard rail near the rigging throughout these shots. However, as Norrington says, "Haul him aboard," in this one shot Governor Swann's body is then seen on deck rushing to the rail with other sailors, where he already was in the previous shots. Also, a moment later the ribbon on the sailor hat lying on the tarp changes position in a following shot. (00:02:25)
Continuity mistake: Young Elizabeth's individual hair curls differ in consecutive shots early in the film. They vary from looser, tighter, shorter and longer, as well as the hair that is pulled up. When adult Elizabeth's hair is done up in curls, they change significantly in consecutive shots as well. For instance at the fort, in the front close-up, the shorter curl behind her right ear is actually GONE, yet it's back in all the other shots. (00:01:15 - 00:10:50)

Continuity mistake: Kathy and the rest discuss Gracie's gun/cigarette man incident. In the wide shots and in the close-ups of Stan, Kathy and Gracie individually, items on the glass table, items on Kathy's desk, the easel near the pink flowers, and the short and tall lamps, change positions between these shots. Continuity mistake: Just after agent Grant is shot, there is a shot of Ivan and the blonde Russian at the back bar shooting at McDonald and his men. In the second shot McDonald and Clonsky crouch down at the table near the front door and are shooting at the Russians . In the third shot McDonald is still seen crouching and shooting at the Russians, but he's now crouching at the back bar and the Russians are now at the kitchen doorway. Obviously this was edited from a longer sequence. (00:06:00)

Continuity mistake: McDonald and his men burst into the restaurant and Gracie holds her gun out in front of her with both hands aimed at Krashow, Ivan and the rest. In the first shot her braids are in front of her shoulders, second shot behind her shoulders, next few shots in front, then yet again behind her shoulders, and then another shot with one braid in front. Continuity mistake: The agents burst into Laika Restaurant wet from the rain outside. There is a difference in how wet they are, specifically McDonald, in the wide shots, semi close-ups and close-ups. McDonald's left sleeve also changes position between the semi close-ups and wide shots. (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: In the wide shot as Victor is boarding the airplane, he answers Matthews' question and the suitcase Vic holds in his left hand has a flap with two straps and buckles on the side facing out. Continuity mistake: When Vic is packing to leave the hotel, Gracie rummages through the make-up scattered on the table, yet in the following close-up the make-up is arranged differently and the upright lipstick suddenly appears. Also, when Vic walks out of the bathroom, in the close-up he's already way past the doorway, yet in the wide shot he's just coming out of the doorway. (01:17:55)
Continuity mistake: Elizabeth takes the medallion out of the drawer, and in the first wide shot as she looks at it (*before* she wipes away the dust with her thumb), seen to her left in the corner, are a tapestry chair and small table with a candelabra, between the the french door draperies and the louver trim door. The table and candelabra are partially in front of the door's louver trim. However after Elizabeth takes the dress out of the box, behind Governor Swann (who stands in front of the french door draperies now), to his right we see the same tapestry chair, table and candelabra, but the table and candelabra are further away from the door's louver trim and much closer to the corner now. Continuity mistake: Will runs down the stairs at the prison and says, "You! Sparrow!" and Jack responds, "Aye." In the following shots Jack's hair with red ties and the white shirt string, both on his left side, change position, arrangement, or even existence in the wide shots, and close-ups while the two talk. Earlier, after Jack saves drowning Elizabeth, the position of the red scarf around his head differs between shots - note the beads over his eyes. As a matter of fact, the positions of his red scarf ends, strings of beads, bone, etc., in Jack's hair, ALL change in consecutive shots many times throughout the film, from the moment he is first seen on the Jolly Mon, to the moment he makes his dramatic exit. Continuity mistake: Barbossa says, "Buried on an island of the dead what cannot be found, except for those who know where it is." In this shot only the objects in the center of the table slide down towards Elizabeth, including the two candelabras and her plate of food, having nothing to do with the object's weight. The objects that face Elizabeth on the table to her left and to her right don't move, only those on the moving center track. Also seen on DVD 2. (00:56:45)
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth joins Barbossa for dinner there are candelabras on the table behind Elizabeth and Barbossa and many loose candles all around. The candle heights vary in many shots. One example: when Barbossa says, "All the scattered pieces of the Aztec gold," the candles on the candelabra behind Elizabeth are much shorter than in the shot right after when Elizabeth asks, "And the blood to be repaid?" where they're much taller. Continuity mistake: When Ivan, Krashow and the other Russian sit, the unoccupied table between them and Gracie is seen. That table is seen again when the waitress walks over to pick up the tip and clear it. The position of the utensils, used napkins, etc., are different in both shots. This is before she touches any dishes. Also, on the table that Krashow leans on as he's choking we see the bread off the board, and the knife under the napkin, but in the next close-up of the table, the bread is on the board with the knife under the loaf.
