Continuity mistake: Just after agent Grant is shot, there is a shot of Ivan and the blonde Russian at the back bar shooting at McDonald and his men. In the second shot McDonald and Clonsky crouch down at the table near the front door and are shooting at the Russians . In the third shot McDonald is still seen crouching and shooting at the Russians, but he's now crouching at the back bar and the Russians are now at the kitchen doorway. Obviously this was edited from a longer sequence. (00:06:00)

Continuity mistake: McDonald and his men burst into the restaurant and Gracie holds her gun out in front of her with both hands aimed at Krashow, Ivan and the rest. In the first shot her braids are in front of her shoulders, second shot behind her shoulders, next few shots in front, then yet again behind her shoulders, and then another shot with one braid in front. Revealing mistake: Gracie hugs the Russian waitress in order to have a better view of the disc hand-off appear on the monitor. As she raises her left hand that holds the book/camera lens, we see that the digital feed that appears on the monitor stays steady and level, even though she is raising the book/camera lens higher and closer to her face. Obviously the feed that we see on the monitor is not taken from the book/camera lens. (00:04:10)

Continuity mistake: The agents burst into Laika Restaurant wet from the rain outside. There is a difference in how wet they are, specifically McDonald, in the wide shots, semi close-ups and close-ups. McDonald's left sleeve also changes position between the semi close-ups and wide shots. (00:04:40)

Continuity mistake: In the wide shot as Victor is boarding the airplane, he answers Matthews' question and the suitcase Vic holds in his left hand has a flap with two straps and buckles on the side facing out. In the subsequent close-up the suitcase is reversed, the flap with two straps and buckles are now facing his leg. (01:25:40)

Trivia: On the commentary, the director and screenwriter both say that not only are Vic's and Gracie's rooms numbered 103, but the agents' surveillance room is also numbered 103. Yet when Gracie unlocks the door to the surveillance room, after beer and pizza at the club, we see that the room number is 106, not 103, as claimed on the commentary. (01:12:00)

Revealing mistake: When Vic and Gracie are inside St. Regis Hotel's Restaurant Lespinasse, there are windows in which the view outside can be seen. The street traffic seen through the window is obviously not Manhattan and the cars are heading the wrong way down E. 55th St. The exterior of the real restaurant is seen when Vic tries to teach Gracie how to glide. The interior shots are filmed at another restaurant in Austin. (00:25:35)

Audio problem: As the contestants walk off stage in their swimsuits during the pageant, we hear the choreographer, Scott Grossman, say to some of them, "Good job. Good job." However, it's obvious that his mouth is not actually saying those words. (01:26:00)

Audio problem: While describing Miss Rhode Island during the Top 5, Kathy continues to say, "with a minor in elementary particles" however when Kathy can be seen on the live feed of the jumbo-tron onstage, she is just smiling and not saying those words. (01:32:20)

Revealing mistake: Cheryl is the second one called in the Top 5 and she stands with Miss California at the front of the stage. Stan calls Miss Nebraska and as he says, "A theatre major", Cheryl is seen in front of Gracie with the other Top 10 that haven't been called. (01:32:30)

Miss Congeniality (2000)
Revealing mistake: The Pageant Announcer says, "The Top 10 have been chosen and we'll be right back with tonight's Swimsuit Competition." Behind her the women can be seen live on stage and to her right they can also be seen on the live monitor. Gracie comes offstage behind her, yet on the monitor Gracie waves and heads off stage towards Kathy and Stan on the other side of the stage. The other contestants movements are also vastly different behind her and on the monitor. (01:24:50)

Miss Congeniality (2000)
Continuity mistake: Gracie rushes into the dressing room saying, "I overslept my beauty sleep," and Cheryl's bangs/fringe are wide and poofy having just come out of the roller. Yet in the mirror's reflection shots, Cheryl's bangs/fringe are narrow and flat and Miss Hawaii and Miss California differ in their positions too. (01:19:25)

Miss Congeniality (2000)
Continuity mistake: When Vic is packing to leave the hotel, Gracie rummages through the make-up scattered on the table, yet in the following close-up the make-up is arranged differently and the upright lipstick suddenly appears. Also, when Vic walks out of the bathroom, in the close-up he's already way past the doorway, yet in the wide shot he's just coming out of the doorway. (01:17:55)
Continuity mistake: Elizabeth takes the medallion out of the drawer, and in the first wide shot as she looks at it (*before* she wipes away the dust with her thumb), seen to her left in the corner, are a tapestry chair and small table with a candelabra, between the the french door draperies and the louver trim door. The table and candelabra are partially in front of the door's louver trim. However after Elizabeth takes the dress out of the box, behind Governor Swann (who stands in front of the french door draperies now), to his right we see the same tapestry chair, table and candelabra, but the table and candelabra are further away from the door's louver trim and much closer to the corner now. (00:05:15)
Continuity mistake: Will runs down the stairs at the prison and says, "You! Sparrow!" and Jack responds, "Aye." In the following shots Jack's hair with red ties and the white shirt string, both on his left side, change position, arrangement, or even existence in the wide shots, and close-ups while the two talk. Earlier, after Jack saves drowning Elizabeth, the position of the red scarf around his head differs between shots - note the beads over his eyes. As a matter of fact, the positions of his red scarf ends, strings of beads, bone, etc., in Jack's hair, ALL change in consecutive shots many times throughout the film, from the moment he is first seen on the Jolly Mon, to the moment he makes his dramatic exit. (00:42:25)
Continuity mistake: Barbossa says, "Buried on an island of the dead what cannot be found, except for those who know where it is." In this shot only the objects in the center of the table slide down towards Elizabeth, including the two candelabras and her plate of food, having nothing to do with the object's weight. The objects that face Elizabeth on the table to her left and to her right don't move, only those on the moving center track. Also seen on DVD 2. (00:56:45)
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth joins Barbossa for dinner there are candelabras on the table behind Elizabeth and Barbossa and many loose candles all around. The candle heights vary in many shots. One example: when Barbossa says, "All the scattered pieces of the Aztec gold," the candles on the candelabra behind Elizabeth are much shorter than in the shot right after when Elizabeth asks, "And the blood to be repaid?" where they're much taller.
