Trivia: When the pickup truck, and later both Engine 51 and Squad 51, drive down the street before turning into the gas station lot, we can see the Pickwick Recreation Center entrance on the left, which is where Station 51 will be dispatched to for an 'unknown type rescue' at the skating rink, later in the episode. And later, when the guys drive down the street before turning into the Pickwick lot, we can see that gas station on the right in the background. It's the unusual looking building between the gas station and the Pickwick entrance that makes this more noticeable.

Continuity mistake: When Bittner brings John and Roy back to the lake for the fishing, The Boat on the lake explodes and Roy and John dive into the lake and rescue the burn victim, but when they're at the back of the camper with the victim, heading to the clinic, Roy's and John's jeans and shirts are completely dry.

Revealing mistake: While in Santa Rosa County, after Roy and John rescue the two injured rock climbers, and also later after they rescue the burn victim from the lake, the Richards ambulance that transports the patients has license plate number "Z125631" which is pretty funny. That plate number should look familiar, as it's the same plate number on the ambulance in LA County, seen in many episodes such as "Rules of Order", "Unlikely Heirs", and "Not Available."

Revealing mistake: On the roof of the jail, Roy buckles his safety belt around his waist, with an extra belt for the prisoner hanging from it as well. When Roy removes the second belt from his own, we can see two carabiners that are now attached to his lifebelt, which go down into Roy's pants. Those carabiners are presumably attached to extra support under Roy's pants.

Revealing mistake: During the rescue at the jail, while Roy tries to get a safety belt around the prisoner's waist, the man freaks out, then grabs Roy and they both swing out on Roy's safety line. When the camera pans a bit too far to the left, we can see the edge of the fake "sky" screen on the left, behind the building's replica set used for closeups.

Revealing mistake: During the rescue of the two mountain climbers who are stuck on the side of a building, when Johnny and Roy are hanging from the lines which are attached to the lifebelts buckled around their waists, we can also see that attached to their lifebelts are carabiners, which are tucked inside their shirts. Those carabiners are presumably attached to extra support under their clothing. Johnny's is particularly visible, while Roy tries to cover his carabiners with his hand.

Continuity mistake: While Roy, John, Brice, and Bob are standing at the nurses' station, there's a closeup of Brice's arm as he explains that he's checking his drug box, and the watch he's wearing in the closeup has a gold/silver metal link watchband, but Brice is wearing a different style watch, with leather straps and buckle.

This particular shot is from 5x8, "The Lighter-Than-Air Man," when Roy drives past the school kids and crossing guard.

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to "accident with injuries," en route one of the camera angles is from the POV behind Roy and John, where the back of the squad is located. The problem is that there's bright sunlight on their backs as they’re driving, when it shouldn't be there. Artistic license is acceptable, but having so much sunlight where it should not be reveals that Squad 51 is not in its normal state.

Continuity mistake: After Roy explains to Mrs. Evans that she shouldn't call them every time Simba runs off, when Chet finds Simba, Johnny holds him with his right hand behind the front legs and left hand under the tail, but closeup Johnny's hands are in the opposite positions.

Continuity mistake: When 51's guys are on the roof of the jail, Johnny sets up the red hose roller with a safety line on the roof edge between the two ladders, but when Roy climbs up the orange ladder to go over the edge, that hose roller with the safety line are not on the roof edge and can be seen still lying on the ground, then it reappears in place in the aerial shot. Additionally, when Roy goes over the roof to make his descent, there's a second silver hose roller at the base of the overhang, which was never actually placed there.

Continuity mistake: At the start of the USC game, after Johnny uses the Heimlich on the choking guy, when Roy asks him to take a deep breath Roy's left hand is on the man's chest, but in the next shot it is Roy's right hand that's on the man's chest.
