Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Gillette puts the iron shackles on Jack, as Elizabeth offers her protest, in the shots facing them, there is a barrel with a green sack on top of it and two wicker rods against the stone wall. However, when Norrington says, "Indeed," then when Jack says, "Finally," and also when Jack says, "I saved your life. You save mine. We're square," the barrel, sack and rods are not there. Continuity mistake: Will comes into the blacksmith shop, comments about Mr. Brown and then approaches the anvil. In this shot the wood post on his right has a hammer and knotted rope hanging together on the same side. However, later when Jack sprays the soot at Will the same wood post is seen on Will's left and the rope hangs on another side of the post, not together with the hammer. That rope changes shape and position in other shots in between too. (00:22:15 - 00:26:15)

Audio problem: At the blacksmith shop, just after Jack says, "You need to find yourself a girl mate," Jack pulls an all wood mallet from the wood ledge above and it actually makes a long metallic rasping sound, which is completely out of sync with the action. In a previous shot Will does a somersault and he grabs a sword hanging from the wood post. When he pulls it off the all wood ledge, it too makes a sharp metallic rasping sound. This is obviously done for dramatic effect. (00:24:25)

Continuity mistake: Just after Jack pulls the red hot blade out of Will's hand, Will does a somersault and in the close-up he grabs hold of another sword and swiftly points it up. In the following wide shot Will is just grabbing the sword again. (00:24:25)

Continuity mistake: Jack says, "That is a wonderful trick..." and hanging on the wall over the chair are a saw and a semi-circular tool and the saw lies over the tool. Later Jack falls when freeing himself from the sword embedded in the rafter, he stands up and climbs onto the cart again. Behind him are the saw and semi-circular tool, but the tool is over the saw now. Then later when Norrington's men shake the door to try to enter, the saw lies over the tool again. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Jack first confronts Will at the blacksmith shop, seen behind Jack, hanging on the stone wall near the fireplace are iron masks and other paraphernalia. Continuity mistake: In the stable, just as Aragorn takes Brego's lead rope from the Rohan, in the shot of Brego moving backward, the two knots at his halter are seen. In the next shot as Aragorn continues soothing Brego he moves in closer, the two knots seen differ from the previous shot and there is no excess rope on Brego's left knot. However as Aragorn unties the knot on Brego's right, the excess rope of his left knot is seen, which differs from the second shot. (01:31:00)

Continuity mistake: After Aragorn asks, "What do you fear my lady?" in the following shots the hair at her shoulders changes position between the front of her shoulder and behind her shoulder, in the different camera angles. (01:35:00)

Continuity mistake: The first two shots of people leaving Edoras are shown, and in the wide shot Éothain and Freda are seen on their horse, as well as the people in front and in back of them. Next are shots of Theoden and Gamling speaking, and the Aragorn and Éowyn confrontation. Then in the next shots the people are still seen leaving Edoras, including Éothain and Freda with the same people in front and in back of them as was seen in the much earlier shot! Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl mistake picture

Continuity mistake: While rescuing young Will, as Norrington shouts, "Man overboard! Man the ropes. Fetch a hook," Governor Swann is leaning over the starboard rail near the rigging throughout these shots. However, as Norrington says, "Haul him aboard," in this one shot Governor Swann's body is then seen on deck rushing to the rail with other sailors, where he already was in the previous shots. Also, a moment later the ribbon on the sailor hat lying on the tarp changes position in a following shot. (00:02:25)

Continuity mistake: Young Elizabeth's individual hair curls differ in consecutive shots early in the film. They vary from looser, tighter, shorter and longer, as well as the hair that is pulled up. When adult Elizabeth's hair is done up in curls, they change significantly in consecutive shots as well. For instance at the fort, in the front close-up, the shorter curl behind her right ear is actually GONE, yet it's back in all the other shots. (00:01:15 - 00:10:50)

Miss Congeniality mistake picture

Revealing mistake: While alone with Gracie, Kathy says, "I've been fighting all my life against your type..." She then says, "Intellectuals...ugly women..." and Kathy's hair is noticeably longer at her shoulders than it was in all the previous shots. Gracie's left braid with red ribbon that sticks straight out differ between these shots too. Obviously this was shot in pickups. (00:55:55)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: Kathy and the rest discuss Gracie's gun/cigarette man incident. In the wide shots and in the close-ups of Stan, Kathy and Gracie individually, items on the glass table, items on Kathy's desk, the easel near the pink flowers, and the short and tall lamps, change positions between these shots. (00:55:00)

Trivia: During the film's original outdoor reception Jake carries Melanie, who feigns death after having supposedly been struck by a lightening bolt, towards the wedding guests. Jake announces, "Melanie Carmichael is dead" but then a few seconds later he says, "Long live Felony Melanie." Jake and Melanie do this as a practical joke. The reaction of Melanie's mother at the supposed death of her daughter apparently upset the test audiences so much, that the production crew reshot the whole reception scene, minus the practical joke.

Continuity mistake: While planning their operation, Matthews' watch can be seen as he says, "We've got only 48 hours," and the time reads 1:50. When Clonsky says, "That means we're gonna need all kids of surveillance," Matthews' watch reads 3:45. When Matthews says, "Yeah, yeah. Now I'm thinking," his watch reads 3:00. (00:16:00)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: While Matthews, Gracie and the rest of the team plan their operation, items on the table change arrangement or position between shots, including soda cans and Clonsky's pocketed pen. (00:15:45)

Trivia: Ken Thomas and John DiResta who play FBI Agents Harris and Clonsky, are both ex-cops turned actors.

Revealing mistake: The shot from inside the bus showing the grounds outside of the hotel, including people, cars, flower planters, etc. differs from the next shot outside the bus as it pulls away. Also, when Gracie and Vic stand near the taxi, when Gracie boards the bus and when she is on the bus, many of the same extras walking around outside do repetitive or even contradictory actions in these shots. (00:36:10)

Revealing mistake: At the pageant, Cheryl performs with the flaming batons and she tosses a baton into the air. Cheryl's reflection is seen on the stage floor but the baton's is not because she really tosses nothing, this particular baton is entirely CG. Also, in some shots when her reflection and the reflections of bulbs, etc, is seen on the stage floor, the reflections of the flames are not. The flames were real in some shots and digitally augmented in others. (01:26:55)
