The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Kuraki walks through the cloud of fog and Daws is shown to be noticing this from the other side of the street. As soon as he finishes walking out of the fog cloud, he is shown to be standing right next to a lamp post and continues on walking. In the following shot after, that shows Daws looking at him, at least 2 - 3 steps are heard from Kuraki walking, but when the shot cuts back to Kuraki, he is still standing next to the lamp post. The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: After Kuraki walks through the cloud of fog, Daws is shown hiding behind a building. In the big close-up shot of Daws looking of the street, Daws is shown to be tugging onto the collar on his coat and pulling it forward. In the sudden shot afterwards, that shows the camera behind Daws, the collar on his coat is suddenly sitting there freely, not being tugged on at all. (00:01:30)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Daws walks up to Kuraki, Kuraki asks Daws that if he got the Crabe Extra tin. At this moment, Kuraki's face looks seemingly normal and perfectly fine. The shot then cuts over to Daws taking out the Crabe Extra tin from his pocket, but when the shot cuts back over to Kuraki, his face is suddenly a lot paler. (00:01:40)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Daws takes the Crabe Extra tin out of his pocket, we can see that the tin is almost completely open and the very edge of the lid is located on the right hand side of the tin. After Daws has torn off part of the wrapper and written Karaboudjan on it, three bad guys appear out of nowhere and Daws throws the can in the box, the very edge of the lid on the can is now located on the left hand side of the tin. Other mistake: The Crabe Extra tin Daws had stuffed in his pocket is about four to five inches long, possibly more and the tin has been opened, increasing the length another two inches, and Daws still had to stuff his whole hand and whole wrist into his pocket and keep moving it around to retrieve the tin. If anything, he'd be lucky enough to have fit the tin in his pocket anyway. (00:01:45)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: During the conversation between Daws and Kuraki, Kuraki tells Daws to tell him about the Karaboudjan and Daws then tears off part of the Crabe Extra wrapper and begins to write "Karaboudjan" on the wrapper. In this shot, the edge of the split in the tear on the Crabe Extra tin is located between the words "Crabe" and "Extra." When Daws throws the tin in the bin, the edge of the split in the tear is now located between the "A" and the "B" in "Crabe." (00:01:55)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: In order for Daws to tell Kuraki about the Karaboudjan, he tears off part of the wrapper from the Crabe Extra tin. The style of the tear changes constantly throughout this scene. The tear in the tin starts out as a tear with various ridges in the tearing. A further two shots later, the part of the tear near the end is now a lot shorter. Then a further three shots after this, the ridges in the tear have now became visibly smoother. Then when Daws chucks the can in the box, it is now just a simple tear through the wrapper. (00:01:55)

Other mistake: When the three Karaboudjan members go to approach Daws, we see Daws go to clench the wrapper he had written "Karaboudjan" on and then throws the Crabe Extra tin in the box nearby. In the shot where one of them says "You disappoint us, Daws", as they first appear, we can see Daws is standing in front of the box, yet as Daws actually goes to throw the tin in the box, he throws it forwards, which from that position meant, could not have possibly landed in the box. It would have landed far in front of the box, rather than actually in it. (00:02:05)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: After Daws has finished writing "Karaboudjan" on the wrapper, three of the Karaboudjan crew members appear in an attempt to kill him. Daws then clenches the wrapper and places it in his pocket. In this shot, only half of the image of then crab on the Crabe Extra tin is shown due to Daws ripping off part the wrapper a few seconds prior. As soon as Daws throws the tin in the box, part of the crab's claws have suddenly appeared at the other end of the tear. (00:02:05)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Plot hole: The torn off part of the Crabe Extra wrapper that Tintin discovers from the drowning victim appears completely fine, despite the fact that in the previous scene, Daws, the drowning victim, had scrunched up the wrapper and put in his pocket and was then thrown into the river, whilst the wrapper was still in his pocket. Revealing mistake: After the three Karaboudjan members begin to approach Daws, Kuraki then takes out his gun and says "Follow me." Kuraki then begins to leave the shot. He has a black mustache, but just as he almost leaves the shot, his mustache temporarily becomes flesh colored for a brief frame. (00:02:10)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Tintin and Snowy are walking to Thomson and Thompson's office and Tintin is shown saying to Snowy "Come on, Snowy. The Thompsons are waiting for us." In this shot, there is a wooden fence located next to them that is a very pale beige color. In the next shot, from a close-up of Snowy, they are now standing next to a fence that is a very bright brown color. (00:02:40)

The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: When Snowy runs back to Tintin after getting the Crabe Extra tin stuck in his nose, Tintin says "That's what you get for sticking your nose where it doesn't belong" and reaches to take the tin off his nose. As Tintin reaches for the tin, the wrapper of the tin itself is a very bright yellow and the words "Crabe Extra" are very large. In the next shot, as Tintin actually takes the tin off his nose, the wrapper of the tin is now a pale yellow and the words "Crabe Extra" are now a lot smaller. (00:03:00)

Audio problem: After Tintin has removed the Crabe Extra tin from Snowy's nose, they continue to walk to Thomson and Thompson's office and Tintin is shown chucking the Crabe Extra tin in the bin. The sound of the tin actually hitting the bin is not heard, but the sound of the tin settling in the bin is heard anyway. (00:03:15)

King Ottokar's Sceptre: Part 2 - S2-E5

Question: When Tintin and the King discover King Ottokar's scepter had been stolen, both Hector and the guards are shown to have been knocked out. Later, Tintin points out that Hector had stolen the scepter by placing it in a camera, put it next to the window and shot it out of the window using the camera. If that's how Hector managed to get the scepter out of the building, then what was it that caused Hector and the guards to get knocked out? (00:33:10 - 00:35:50)

Chosen answer: If Hector was seriously intent on removing King Ottokar's scepter from the glass cage holding it and launching it through the window with the camera, then Hector would have been forced to knock out the two guards so they would not have interfered with Hector's plan as soon as he removed the scepter from the glass. As for Hector, himself, was explained when Tintin was explaining how Hector stole the scepter. Tintin placed a twig inside the camera and it launched out of the camera. Hector would have placed the scepter inside of the camera, and would have been knocked unconscious due to the spring effect created when the scepter had been launched.
