Revealing mistake: When one of the detectives is wondering were the file could have gotten to, part of his coat is shown protruding over one of the files for a brief frame. (00:03:25)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When one of the detectives places a bunch of files on their desks, visible part way through the pile are two separate pieces of paper between the files. In the split second that shows the files being placed down, the pieces of paper are shown sticking out about two inches. In the next shot, the papers are now sticking out almost half way. (00:03:25)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: In Thomson and Thompson's office, one of the detectives sets some files down on the desk. Just before the files are set down, to the left of the files is a green mat with a piece of paper near the end of it. In the next shot, after the files have been set down and one says "Now where on Earth could that file have got to?", the piece of paper on the green mat has vanished. (00:03:25)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Other mistake: As the scene cuts from Tintin walking on the sidewalk to Thomson and Thomson's office, the shot then pans over to one of them placing some files on the desk. As he places the files, three pieces of paper are shown floating off the desk, but there is nothing there causing the papers to move at all. (00:03:25)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Other mistake: When Tintin discovers the torn out part of the wrapper, Tintin asks "What are these?" and one of the detectives reply "Objects found on a drowning victim." At this moment, the Thompsons are shown holding six files in their hands, but the way they are shown holding it would never be possible. This is mainly due to the fact that the second file is located on top of another file to the left, but there are four others on top. These four files are creating too much weight and would have fallen over. (00:03:35)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Tintin borrows the torn out part of the wrapper, he and Snowy go to leave the office and the shot cuts back to Thompson and Thomson. For the very first frame of the shot, the top of the pile shows two blue files and on the bottom is two darker blue files. The bottom two files are shown with dark blue edges. Then within that same shot, a frame after, it is now a blue file at the top of the pile and a red file below the blue file and the edges from the dark blue files have vanished. (00:03:50)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Audio problem: When Thomson says "I'd better go investigate" and Thompson says "We'd better go investigate" neither of their mouths move. (00:03:50)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: As Tintin is rummaging through the bins, he says "It's got to be in here somewhere, Snowy." In this shot, the bin is bright blue. The shot cuts over to Snowy growling, but when the shot cuts the detectives entering the scene and one of them says "Tintin", in reaction to him rummaging the bins, the bin is now bright turquoise. (00:04:10)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Audio problem: When Tintin says "It's gotta be in here somewhere", his mouth is open, but doesn't move. (00:04:10)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: When the Thompson's discover that Tintin is rummaging through the bins in order to find the Crabe Extra tin, one of them says "Tintin. Whatever are you doing?" and the other detective is shown stopping next to Tintin, altering the position of his cane. As soon as he stops altering the cane, the bottom of the cane is shown, through Tintin, overlapping with the bin. (00:04:15)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Tintin explains to the Thompsons why he is rummaging through the bins, the Thompsons tell the garbage man to open the sack. Tintin then walks up to only a foot away from the man, but when Snowy is looking at the garbage sack there is no sign of Tintin. (00:04:35)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: After Tintin has finished searching through the garbage man's bag, Tintin then leaves and the man is holding it with only his right hand. In the next shot, as Snowy takes out a bone from the bag, the man is suddenly holding it with both hands. (00:04:45)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Tintin is examining the back of the Crabe Extra wrapper in his apartment, the back of the wrapper keeps going from white with Karaboudjan written on it, to yellow with nothing written on it, to white with nothing written on it between shots. The writing then reappears and the back of the wrapper is white. Tintin then shades the paper with a pencil and notices the wrapper says Karaboudjan. In the next shot, all the pencil shade has disappeared. (00:05:10)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Other mistake: Whilst examining the wrapper with "Karaboudjan" written on it, the "K" is a centimeter away from the letter "A" and all the other letters are about a fifth of a centimeter away from the letters. Tintin then places a magnifying glass above the word "Karaboudjan." After doing this, the "K" that was a centimeter away from the "A" is now a fifth of a centimeter away from the "A", but none of the other letters seem to have changed distances. This all occurs within the same shot. (00:05:15)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: Tintin is back at his apartment reading the wrapper from the Crabe Extra tin with "Karaboudjan" written on it. Just before he says "Yes, there's something definitely written here", he has lifted the wrapper off the table with his thumb placed on the front and his four other fingers placed on the back. In the next shot, the wrapper is now flat on the table and his four fingers are now placed on the front. (00:05:15)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Tintin and Snowy are at the apartment examining the wrapper, the word "Karaboudjan" is clearly written on the wrapper. When Tintin goes to darken the wrapper, the word is now hardly visible and has to be darkened in order for Tintin to see it properly. (00:05:15)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Tintin is back at his apartment reading over the wrapper, the only things on his desk are the wrapper and pencil in the shot where he says "Only I can't read it" and the desk is also in front of the chair Tintin is sitting at. Later on, after Tintin returns to his apartment after the three bad guys have kidnapped Mr. Kuraki, a phone has suddenly appeared on Tintin's desk and the desk is now on the left of the chair. (00:05:20 - 00:07:15)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: After Tintin has noticed Snowy gnawing on the bone, Tintin says "Let's just darken these letters and see what comes up". During the shot of him darkening the letters, the area of the letters on the wrapper that were darkened is differently animated than the area that hasn't been darkened yet. For example, the area of the letters on the wrapper that had been darkened is a dark white color. But the area that hadn't been darkened is a bright white color. This goes for the areas that weren't darkened by the pencil at all. (00:05:30)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: When Tintin is in his apartment and overhears his neighbor yell out "Help! Kidnappers!", Tintin runs over to his apartment balcony, to see two people tackling Kuraki. The car right next to them, at this point, is tilting. (00:05:55)
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: After the two bad guys have knocked out Mr. Kuraki, they take him to their car and place him in the back seat. The back left door is already closed, and one of the bad guys closes the back right door. After the third bad guy hits Tintin over the head, an overview shot shows the back doors open. The third bad guy was shown exiting the driver's door, not using the back doors. (00:06:00 - 00:06:40)
