The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Inside Henry Ellison's office, he starts the interview chewing on a cigar, which is in is hand in the reverse shot. (00:15:45)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Henry Ellison puts down on the table a gold lighter that keeps changing position throughout the scene in his study, going from straight to angled several times. (00:15:50 - 00:16:55)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Rick spots the portrait of the mysterious woman on the beach (who apparently always wears the same clothes); the clock hands are at 12:10 when he stands and approaches it. In close-up it's twenty to 4. (00:16:10)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Factual error: The opening sequence is set in "Summer 1945", and the librarian mentions as well the season; summer. The prop that Magnum is checking out though, has a headline identifying it as April 17, not quite summer. (00:17:55)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Magnum picks a figurine up from Higgins' diorama; he does it in close-up, where the remaining character, going by main garment's color, are (left to right); white - green - orange. Rest of the scene, they are green - orange - white. (00:20:35)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Smoking his cigar, Magnum is checking out Tybald's figurine having a very different posture in the two shots. (00:20:40)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Magnum holds the shawl he found half-buried in the ground; in the first shot the clothing is well puffed above his left fingers, in the reverse his hands he never moved are holding the fabric straight. (00:24:30)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Revealing mistake: Lisa is hiding from Ellison inside the potting shed; the camera is following him, and you can see him move his head avoiding a big leaf that the camera itself pushes, showing its presence. (00:44:00)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Rick calls for Magnum ("Thomas, over here!") and pushes Lisa behind him, but in the next shot she is still at his side. (00:44:40)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Revealing mistake: Rick just got shot and Magnum asks him if he's OK. When he answers, you can see that Larry Manetti is not lying in a random spot on the lawn, but on a rug the same color of the grass. (00:44:55)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Rick lies down in the leaves after being shot; his legs go from crossed (right leg underneath the other) to spread. (00:45:00)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Having a drink with Rick and Lisa at the end of the episode, she says "Because I didn't know where Sara was buried." Her right arm is on the table; in the next shot the hand is off it, and it keeps going back and forth, with the hand on or off the purse, that happens to shift as well. (00:46:35)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Continuity mistake: Lisa answers Magnum telling him she was nowhere near the potting shed; behind her, a woman with a purple dress is walking away. A while later, Magnum walks away too from all the Netherworld nonsense, and he just happens to pass by the same woman, who is again walking away from the club in the exact same spot and direction as before. (00:46:45 - 00:47:35)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Plot hole: The episode has a small bit of supernatural hints, but the foundation of it is rooted in reality and acted by a living and not magical person. With that in mind, confirmed moments when the 'ghost' is Lisa in the flesh make no sense at all; her disappearance at the beginning is a Batman-like feat she shouldn't be able to execute. Not to mention that she is at the right place and time when Magnum visits the old abandoned estate; unless she just camps there 24/7, she had no way to know when Magnum (who visits 2 days after, not even right after the fact) would investigate.
Continuity mistake: The opening shot of the intro shows the takeoff two planes with a black nose and USAF written under the wings. When they are in flight later after the control room scene, stock footage is used, because now the planes have "MARINES" written above the wings, followed again by a close-up, this time of a white nosed airplane (or mock-up) with a recognizable number 23 that was absent before. (00:01:30)
Other mistake: The commanding officer to enter the control room passes in front of two signs which, even with different sizes, say the same thing - but the one on the wall mentions a "Wheeler airbase" (which actually exists), the one on the door a "Delber". (00:02:00)
Factual error: During the aerial maneuvers, the so called Mig-30 (no such plane exists) is easily recognizable even from those who aren't aviation buffs as just the same plane as the two US ones intercepting it, but with an opportune paintjob. Especially obvious during the credit roll for Jeff Pomerantz, when the three of them fly slowing down for the landing, and in formation. (00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: During the credit sequence, at "Directed by", the pilot undoes the seatbelt. Under the suit, his left wrist reveals the presence of a watch, which is at the right wrist when he gets out of the plane. (00:05:15)
Continuity mistake: The MIG pilot is preparing to get out of the plane. There's a close-up of a young and a bit tense soldier (or "soldier", since the extra looks quite unconvincing and not handling the weapon very confidently) wearing glasses. The strap of his weapon is firmly pressed between his fingers and the gun, but in the wider angle the strap is sorta slipping away. (00:05:15)
Continuity mistake: The close-up of the battle of Sebastopol - or rather, what Higgins mistakes as such - sees Rick's hand on the sand, by the shell. The hand is not in that position in the other angle. (00:07:40)
