Italian Ice - S2-E15
Revealing mistake: Magnum finds the unpleasant surprise of a large scratch on Robin's Ferrari. In close-up he runs his hand along the "bloody gouge", as Higgins later calls it, but it's a badly constructed prop; look at the turn signal, tiny and circular, nothing like the larger rectangular one of the car. (00:23:40)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Continuity mistake: Magnum asks the (moderately) jealous Hawaiian about the scratch on his car. The guy says he didn't do it because it's "not nice." Margo is moving her hand from the bottom to the top of the stack she's holding, but it's back in place at the bottom in the next shot. (00:24:00)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Revealing mistake: The 'mysterious stalker' is looking at Magnum opening the door of Ferrari for Margo, through a camera lens. When later we see the photo developed, it does not match that angle at all. (00:24:20 - 00:32:40)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Visible crew/equipment: After the Ferrari has been gauged, when Magnum and Margo arrive back at Robin's Nest in the Ferrari, the reflection of lighting and filming equipment are visible on the surface of the car. (00:24:35)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Visible crew/equipment: Magnum drives his girlfriend back to the estate after they seemingly made peace. As the Ferrari stops and just before she opens the door, set lights are reflected in it. (00:24:45)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Revealing mistake: In the interior shots of the chopper approaching the estate, the sky is completely unmoving. In this scene gotta give props to Lenny Montana, the mature bodyguard, who not only has the best Italian accent in the episode, but also acts the heck out of the situation holding on to the grab handle and pulling and scooting with his big body (although they are not a train or a stagecoach, so they wouldn't really move like that). (00:27:30)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Continuity mistake: When TC says "Okay, you're the boss!" to the mobsters in his chopper, the back seats are empty - he lost 2/3 of his passengers. (00:28:25)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Revealing mistake: TC is flying his chopper to Robin Masters' residence, with the three Italian stooges aboard. The chopper's tail rotor is suddenly on the wrong side. (00:28:30)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Continuity mistake: Margos asks Magnum "Who's that?" seeing the chopper fly so low by the villa. Magnum is mostly off-frame but you can see his arm reach up to do the gesture he actually does only in the next shot - reach for his Detroit Tigers hat. (00:29:25)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Continuity mistake: Katrina puts down the perfectly developed picture of Magnum and Margo by the car. There's nothing specific next to the spot of the counter where the photo goes, but in close-up there's a pair of scissors just handy for her to do her bunny boiler routine with. (00:32:35)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Continuity mistake: When Magnum gets in the open theater, the natural light on the ramp is very different depending on the angle of shooting; it has a pronounced shadow of the parapet with strong sunlight, or nothing of the sort. (00:44:00)
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Factual error: The bad guy is called "Marchese di Como", the Marquis of Como, but as perhaps it is more known internationally now than in the 80s, Como is at the very North of Italy and nowhere near Sicily. The Marquis/Marchese's henchman is called "Segundo" (pronounced as such and written in the credits), but it's a Spanish name, not an Italian one.
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Plot hole: Magnum leaves the estate on the Ferrari leaving Katrina behind. He joins Margo at the drama lesson. Somehow, Katrina manages to be there at the same time as he is - without really knowing where he is in fact going, and it is her first day in Hawaii - and scratches his car in a temper tantrum.
Italian Ice - S2-E15
Factual error: The Italian featured in the episode ranges from acceptable but still pronounced with a clear foreign accent and no understanding of the language, to utter garbage with mangled words, like the bit when the maid/cook is feeding the cats at the beginning.
Continuity mistake: When the title of the episode appears in the credits, there are 4 girls passing in front of the pool bar. One of them is very recognisable for her circlet in her hair, sporting purple and gold bikini and a ripped physique. That same girl, with or without the others, passes in front of the same bar several other times (at least 3) during the scene. (00:01:35)
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene the position of the girl in the inflatable chair is not coherent in the various views. In the establishing shot of the pool, she is in the corner of the part opposite the house, but then she is in a diagonally opposite spot, and later when Morita is clearing his throat to give his speech she has two different guys (not too far apart from each other but still in distinct position) by her feet. (00:01:40)
Continuity mistake: After his speech, the guys toss Jack Metro (Pat Morita) in the pool. Mrs. Eleanor Greeley is present in the faraway shot, and she has her shades in her right hand, but it cuts to a close-up of her going through her sexy chewing schtick holding them in her left hand. (00:02:50)
Continuity mistake: Pat Morita gets dunked in the pool (twice) and he is dripping wet, you can even see his black underwear through the shorts when he gets pulled up from it. Still, a couple of shots later he's nice and dry poolside with the exact same clothes and hat. (00:03:05)
Continuity mistake: Mrs. Greeley turns around and watches Dorsey Bramlett on the hammock with a girl. He is gripping the net with his hand around the middle, but in the next shot and rest of the scene he is clinging to the top. (00:03:15)
Continuity mistake: When Coach Bell is talking to Dorsey's substitute and his wife at the party, the couple is in a different position in the two different camera angles mainly used; she casts a shadow on him in a different spot, with sunlight on his arms when the camera is over Bill Edwards' shoulder, and not in the other angle.
