JAG

Trinity - S2-E6

Revealing mistake: As Harm & Mac are returning to the US, we are told they are flying out of London Heathrow. But the stock footage of an airport used is actually London Gatwick, identified by its distinctive control tower, and not Heathrow.

Washington Holiday - S2-E9

Factual error: In the whole episode, Romania is depicted as a monarchy with the king in a position that allows him to make political decisions. However, Romania ceased to be a monarchy in 1947. By the time depicted in the episode (circa 1997), Romania was a republic and its head of state was the president. Members of the ex-royal family did not hold any positions in the Romanian government and were certainly not authorized to represent Romania in international events.

The Game of Go - S2-E10

Character mistake: In the board game of Go, players should place the stones on an empty intersection of the board's lines. Harm and Estruga are supposed to be avid Go players, but they place the stones inside the squares on the board.

The Guardian - S2-E12

Revealing mistake: The municipal court-room used for the Chief's arraignment hearing looks amazingly similar to the military court-room at JAG. Or maybe, the same architect of the Navy's court-room was retained by the District as well.

Cowboys and Cossacks - S2-E14

Factual error: In the intro before the title, the bridge of the Cayuga is shown, intercut with photos of another ship supposedly about to run into her. We see the starboard side of a vessel and later a blurry long-shot of a ship approaching. In both shots, the running lights are the wrong way around. The starboard light should be green and the port light red but the first shot shows the starboard light as red and both left and right wrong in the shot of the oncoming ship. (00:00:52 - 00:01:50)

Cowboys and Cossacks - S2-E14

Plot hole: When the radar man of the USS Cayuga describes a radar reading to likely be "One of the Russian cruisers", the commanding officer of the USS decides not to pursue it saying, "We are after bigger fish today - I want the Vasilyev". In the film, the Vasilyev is depicted as a destroyer, which is a smaller and lighter ship than a cruiser. In this context, the cruiser would be a "bigger fish" than the Vasilyev and the CO should pursue it instead if he was after the larger, more dangerous vessels as he seems to declare.

Rendezvous - S2-E15

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Bud is shredding the satelite photograph, when he turns around to talk to Harriet, a microphone dips into the scene for a quick second.

Blind Side - S3-E4

Continuity mistake: In the bar the camera pans down to Harm's boots. He's wearing black jeans. In the jeep, when he jumps out to stand next to Mac, he has on light blue jeans.

Vanished - S3-E6

Continuity mistake: The aircraft carrier used in this episode, the USS Coral Sea, had the correct hull number on the ballcaps worn by the crew - CV-43, but the hull number displayed on the ship was "65". CVN-65 is in reality, the USS Enterprise.

Yesterday's Heroes - S3-E15

Factual error: The coast guard officer on the bridge in the opening scenes is wearing the gold oak leaves of a LCDR but the gold trim on his hat indicates he is a full commander. Later in the episode he is identified as a full commander but is not called Sir by Harm or Mac. In reality, as a senior member of a US uniformed service, he would be called Sir.

Yesterday's Heroes - S3-E15

Factual error: This episode begins with a luxury cruiser being pursued by a USN Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate. In order to convince the vessel to heave to, the skipper of the USN ship orders two warning shots to be fired from the frigates forward gun. Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates do not have a forward gun. They have a launcher, which is visible in the ships external shots. The shot of the 5" gun firing is archive footage of a completely different (and much larger) vessel.

Tiger, Tiger - S3-E18

Continuity mistake: Bud tells Harm that he was 11 years old when he took his first 'Tiger' cruise on the USS Arleigh Burke. However, the Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) was commissioned in 1991, which means Bud would only be 18 years old at the time of this episode.

Tiger, Tiger - S3-E18

Continuity mistake: When the Cubans prepare to fire the Harpoon missile there is a shot of the Mk13 launcher preparing the missile for firing. However, later in the episode when they fire, the shot shows the missile coming out of the vertical launch cells forward of the Mk 13 launcher.

Tiger, Tiger - S3-E18

Factual error: In this episode there is continual reference to the seahawk helicopter in the hanger. The helo that is pictured in the episode is a lot bigger than a seahawk and resembles a sea king. Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates can hold two seahawks but no Sea Kings.

Death Watch - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: At Harm's apartment, when talking to Mac about Cmdr. Krennick's advances towards him, he tells Mac that he wouldn't get involved with a superior officer, anymore than she would. However, it had already been established earlier this season in "For The Good of the Service" that Mac had a romantic relation with her Commanding Officer, Lt. Colonel Farrow.

Gypsy Eyes (2) - S4-E1

Factual error: At the beginning of the episode Rabb evades two heat seeking missiles while flying a Mig-29. When Sarah asks him how he did it, he explains that he got them between the missiles and the sun which made the missiles target the sun instead since "it is a bigger target." While the sun is indeed a far larger source of infrared radiation than a fighter jet, all anti air missiles since the 1950s come equipped with navigation systems in their nose that contain an optical filter. This filters out unwanted data, including the specific infrared radiation coming from the sun. Hence it is impossible for modern anti-air heat seeking missiles to target the sun.

Innocence - S4-E3

Factual error: The caps worn by sailors on ships, always have the name of the ship, along with the hull number. However, the caps worn by the crew of the USS Reprisal was "CVN-35", where the hull number of the ship they used "69"

Act of Terror - S4-E6

Character mistake: When Harm is questioning agent Novack about whether there was an "angry demeanor" amongst the Marines on the day of the shooting, Mac objects that he is "leading the witness." However, Novack was her witness to begin with, and Harm was cross-examining her. Leading questions are permitted during cross-examination; as an experienced trial lawyer, Mac should know this.

Ice Queen (1) - S8-E20

Dr. Donald Mallard: You sure you won't have dinner with me tonight, Viv?
Special Agent Vivian Blackadder: Oh, Ducky, you're disgusting!
Dr. Donald Mallard: The pursuit of sex is an affirmation of life, Vivian. That's why older men are so lascivious.
Special Agent Vivian Blackadder: I'm talking about your lack of respect for the dead.
Dr. Donald Mallard: I have the utmost respect for the dead.
Special Agent Vivian Blackadder: Well, that's obvious from the way you speak to them.
Dr. Donald Mallard: If you were dead, wouldn't it be nice if you were spoken to, rather than about?

Dangerous Game - S8-E4

Question: Two questions and apology if I have the wrong Deputy Sheriff. 1. Why did Sheriff Denton want Deputy Gault out on that particular road? 2. Why would Lt. Reynolds still be charged with negligent homicide after it was revealed that the sheriff purposely had Gault stationed out there? Reynolds even stood by that he thought it was another part of the training exercise and wasn't aware that he was being chased by an actual law enforcement officer.
