Shutout in Seattle (2) - S6-E24
Continuity mistake: After Niles breaks up with her in Cafe Nervosa, Kit knocks down a chair as she storms out. Frasier goes over to comfort Niles - he should have to move the chair or climb over it, but the chair just isn't there anymore.
Continuity mistake: At Frasier's apartment, Emily asks him if Marty is dating anyone. During the conversation Frasier's hands are in his pockets, and then in front of him, and then back in his pockets, from shot to shot.
Continuity mistake: During the opening credits, Frasier and Roz are in Cafe Nervosa talking, and Niles joins them. As they talk, Roz's paper napkin goes from being scrunched up to lying flat, to crumpled, from shot to shot.
When a Man Loves Two Women - S6-E21
Continuity mistake: When Frasier is in his apartment talking to Niles, Marty, and Daphne about choosing between Cassandra and Fay, the milk on the breakfast table changes position several times - from behind the coffee pot and near Daphne to the other side of the coffee pot in front of Martin.
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Roz and Frasier are in Cafe Nervosa, and she is snoozing, while a half-eaten muffin sits in front her. As she wakes up and talks to Frasier, the muffin appears whole again. She leaves and Martin comes in and takes her seat. A shot then shows the muffin as half-eaten again, even though no one has touched it.
Factual error: This episode takes place on Frasier's birthday - Martin had ordered a copy of the newspaper published the day Frasier was born and it is sitting on the dining room table when Daphne glances at it and says "Queen Elizabeth's had another baby." - in the Episode The Late Dr. Crane earlier in the same season, Frasier was mistakenly reported as dead on a local TV news show. The dates for his life were shown on the show as 1952-1999. The Queen, in fact, did not have a baby in 1952.
Continuity mistake: Frasier is arguing with Niles in the kitchen and removes a large bottle of water from the fridge. He takes off the cap, and pours water into a glass. Immediately the shot shows the bottle capped again while Frasier and Niles continue talking.
Continuity mistake: In Cassandra's hotel room, Frasier gets two small bottles of brandy and manages to pour them into separate glasses while holding both bottles. Pretty hard to do. He never puts one down and grips it to open it.
To Kill a Talking Bird - S4-E14
Other mistake: It seems very out of character for Niles, who is so obsessed with cleanliness, to be happy with having a bird flying loose in his kitchen.
Goodnight, Seattle (1) - S11-E23
Revealing mistake: You have to be very quick to spot this, but when the cannon goes off Niles drops the ring, you can actually see it drop between Eddie and the camera and bounce away from Eddie. In other words, it certainly doesn't go anywhere near the pate.
Continuity mistake: Marty is working on a jigsaw puzzle and its box is sitting on the edge of the table. During the scene it rotates ninety degrees. (00:03:50)
The Last Time I Saw Maris - S3-E8
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, while Noel is getting Frasier to sign his Star Trek petition, Roz puts a blue plastic cassette into the machine to Frasier's left. During the scene it changes to a black cassette, without anyone touching it, and at the end of the scene Roz walks off with a blue cassette in her hand.
Kisses Sweeter Than Wine - S3-E5
Continuity mistake: When Frasier comes out of the bathroom, he has shaved without water, and has at least 4 bits of tissue with blood on them stuck to his face. Within 5 minutes he is greeting his guests at the door and his face is completely smooth with no sign of a cut or scrape.
No Sex Please, We're Skittish - S11-E1
Continuity mistake: Roz and Frasier are in his apt. after Julia has left. The small pillow on the far left of the couch is quite smooshed down and almost flat, but when Roz walks over toward the center of the couch, the pillow is much fuller and fluffed out. In the next shot we see Frasier sit down on this pillow; when he stands it looks like it did a few shots before - very flat and smooshed.
Continuity mistake: When Frasier is hosting his pre-opera party and is greeting his first guests at the door, the female guest has a purse on her arm. In the shot after Frasier excuses himself from them, her arms and purse have changed positions.
A Man, a Plan and a Gal: Julia - S11-E2
Continuity mistake: During dinner, Niles is holding a box of cereal which rotates between shots at least twice almost instantly, with no time for him to do it.
Continuity mistake: Early in the episode Martin puts a piece of tape on the seat of his chair, before Frasier accidentally gets it thrown out. However later on when Frasier gets the chair back (and in later episodes) that piece of tape is missing. It's possible it was ripped off of course, but wouldn't Martin have replaced it again if there was a hole in the chair?
The Unkindest Cut of All - S2-E2
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Frasier is leaning against the bookcase. There is a shot of Daphne, and after her one line the doorbell rings. The shot then cuts to Frasier who is instantly at the door, although he has not had time to get there.
A Midwinter Night's Dream - S1-E17
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, Niles, Frasier and Daphne are at Cafe Nervosa. Daphne is standing up talking to Eric the server and Niles gets agitated, and spills sugar everywhere. Eric throws down a dish towel so they can clean it up. The dish towel appears and disappears several times during the scene.
Continuity mistake: When Luke and Frasier are talking in the restaurant, and Frasier asks, "So Luke, you're a boat enthusiast?", his forearm is resting on the table. When the shot cuts back to him, only his hand is resting on the table, with no time for him to change position.
Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
