Three Dates and a Breakup (1) - S4-E19
Continuity mistake: Sherry is about to tell Frasier and his date a joke - Marty and she have their arms around each other - the first shot shows her large orange purse is over her shoulder (between them) and behind her but the next shot shows it still between them, but in front of her - simply impossible to have changed its position so quickly.
Continuity mistake: Marty's shoebox is sitting on the table. Niles walks by and Daphne throws him a banana from the kitchen - the camera shows the box again, and it has turned about 45 degrees.
Continuity mistake: When Lilith says Frasier can't make it for lunch, Niles grabs the back of his dad's chair with his left hand. The next shot shows his hand down by his side, without enough time for the shift.
Continuity mistake: During the opening credits, Bebe and Roz are in Cafe Nervosa and Bebe is explaining a radio idea she has. As she says "all of Seattle will share", Roz is picking at her muffin, but in the next shot Roz has her hands on her stomach.
Three Dates and a Breakup (1) - S4-E19
Continuity mistake: During Frasier's party, he is talking to Kimberly by his credenza. At the end of the scene, a wine glass appears there - it hadn't been there earlier. The glass Kimberly put down was a champagne glass.
Continuity mistake: Niles puts the cap of the solvent can on the coffee table but a couple of shots later it has moved about 8 inches away, even though he didn't touch it. (00:04:10)
Continuity mistake: Niles leaves the kitchen with a small tray of devilled eggs to serve his guests - as the shot changes to him coming into the dining area, he is carrying a different tray, with different appetizers on it, including some grapes. (00:08:35)
You Can Never Go Home Again - S3-E24
Continuity mistake: Daphne is on the phone with her mother and has a dust rag in her hand. She holds out the phone towards Frasier and when the shot goes back to her, the rag is all bunched up in her hand - it has been loose before. There was no time for her to change it.
Docu.Drama - S8-E16
Continuity mistake: Frasier is holding a paper with his story on it as he is talking to John Glenn in the conference room. The shot changes as Glenn says, "I don't want to go behind someone's back", and Frasier's hands are now clasped in front of him.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, Frasier and Niles are in Cafe Nervosa and Roz comes in, with lots of Christmas gifts. She manages to unload them, take off her coat and get into a chair between the guys - all in a couple of seconds. It all happens too quickly for "real time".
Continuity mistake: Frasier's in the toy store and another customer comes in with a carrier bag of educational toys he bought elsewhere. As Frasier tries to talk him into selling him the toys, some shots show just the bag with the toys in it and other shots show a roll of green wrapping paper visible about 6 inches above the bag.
Continuity mistake: As Frasier is saying "too often we shrink from doing things we really want to do", the shot goes to Roz, and we can see the reflection in the glass shows that Frasier's mouth and hand movements do not match what he is saying.
And the Whimper is... - S1-E18
Continuity mistake: Early in the show, at Cafe Nervosa, Roz comes in and Bebe asks her to get her some coffee. Roz returns with a paper bag which she puts down on Bebe's right. In the next shot Bebe stands up with it in her left hand, but there was not enough time for it to change from the right to the left naturally.
Continuity mistake: During the part of the show where they are getting ready to play Murder we can see empty punch glasses on the table - in another shot we see three even though no one went near them. This changes back to 2 after the lights come on - unlikely anyone helped themselves to punch when the lights were out.
Continuity mistake: If you look closely at the couch in the first scene ("A Valentine for Niles") it is not the same couch used during the rest of the run of Frasier - it looks brand new and it doesn't quite have the same texture or look. It makes sense, as Niles sets fire to the couch at the end of the scene.
Continuity mistake: Frasier and Marty are sitting in their living room talking about Frasier's problems with women. Marty has his fork poised above a plate with a slice of cake on it. The next shot shows the fork on the plate, next to the cake. Marty would not have had time to put the fork down in the split-second in between.
Continuity mistake: Martin is drinking a glass of milk which is between his arm and a bowl of chips. Suddenly the milk is sitting well to the left, even though he didn't touch it. (00:14:35)
The Show Where Diane Comes Back - S3-E14
Continuity mistake: Frasier is in the kitchen and gets the sugar out to sprinkle over the profiteroles. As he starts shaking we get a wider shot and we see there is sugar all over the stove top, pastries, plate, and counter - way more than there should be for the amount of shaking going on.
Continuity mistake: Frasier and Niles are in the kitchen at the cabin. Niles picks up his mug to take a sip, but in the next shot his mug is still on the table.
Other mistake: In the kitchen, when Niles burns his hand you can see him move his hand down to stop the frying pan from falling off the stove. He doesn't touch it again, but it looks like the instinctive actions of someone who knocked something over rather than part of the scene. He just slips out of character for a moment.
Answer: Nanny G (Nanette Guzman - played by Laurie Metcaf) has been a children's entertainer for twenty years, and tells Frasier, "Do you know what it's like to play the same character for 20 years?!" The joke is that Kelsey Grammer has been playing Frasier Crane since 1984, when the character first appeared on "Cheers", so Kelsey in real life has been doing just that!
