Continuity mistake: During the warehouse fire, Johnny removes his turnout when Captain Stanley calls for the ambulance, then when the ambulance arrives John's wearing the turnout and one burn victim has the sheet over him, but then the turnout and sheet vanish, and as the ambulance attendants bring the stretcher, Johnny places the sheet on the victim, and in the overhead shot as Cap is told about Willy, Johnny's wearing his turnout again. The Biophone also keeps jumping from being beside Squad 51 to being between the victims.

Deliberate mistake: After the fireworks begin exploding at the warehouse fire, when Captain Stanley and Roy are helping Willy out, they are knocked to the ground by an explosion, and in two of the following exterior shots the large sign that reads "Kiddytime Toy Co" is visible. This shot is from season 4, episode "The Screenwriter", when the guys respond to the fire at the toy factory that also made fireworks.

Continuity mistake: When Johnny is doing overtime with Engine 8, dispatch sends the two guys of Squad 8 on an unknown type rescue and they leave Station 8, but when Johnny and Captain Stone walk back into the kitchen, Squad 8 is still parked in the apparatus bay.

Factual error: Roy uses the defibrillator paddles on the electrocuted man twice, then after each defib Roy lifts the paddles off the patient's chest and they look at the EKG monitor, which shows flatlining the first time and a heartbeat the second time. Problem is, it's impossible for the EKG monitor to show anything at all. Either the defib paddles must be in contact with patient's body for the “quick-look” to determine the rhythm, which they were not, or the ECG electrode discs must be on his chest connecting him to the EKG monitor, and they were not.

Other mistake: When Engine 51 pulls up to the hotel with the injured man dangling from the hotel sign, Captain Stanley addresses Chet and says, "Chet, Roy and John'll need a line," but the subtitles read, "See that? Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is at the scene of the oil well eruption, underneath a house which was built atop an abandoned oil field, just after Johnny tells Roy that he thinks the whole foundation is slipping, it cuts to a shot of the front porch as one of the porch columns (and part of another) breaks and falls. However, when the guys finally free the trapped man and carry him out, all the columns are upright once again.

Trivia: Blink and you'll miss it. At Rampart, when Art walks away from the nurses' station, much to Dixie's relief, he heads toward the waiting room and then Roy and Johnny follow him. Visible crew/equipment: During the structure fire, when Roy, Johnny and the security guard are in the upstairs room and Roy closes the doors, just as they start to walk toward the window, the moving shadow of the cameraman and camera are visible on the wall. The shadow is not moving in sync with the guys so we know it's not theirs.
