Corrected entry: Right after the bus makes the jump over the gap in the freeway there is a shot of the front of the bus. If you freeze frame you can only see one person in the whole bus - the driver. Jack and all the passengers magically disappears.

Collateral (2004)
Corrected entry: While Max is tied to the steering wheel of the cab, three guys come up and steal Vincent's briefcase. When Vincent comes out and shoots them, there are only 2 guys.
Correction: Originally there are four men. The first two who get to the car reach a point where they can see that Max is tied up - their faces immediately change and they move off-camera quickly. They presumably decide that they want no part of whatever's going on and hurry on their way. The third and fourth men stay - one pulls the gun and converses with Max for a time, then they steal the briefcase before being killed by Vincent. The time taken for the conversation is more than enough for the first two men to have left the area.

Troy (2004)
Corrected entry: After the first major battle and Achilles and the Myrmidons land on the beach, the small-group battle ends with Achilles killing every man within range of him. He speaks to Eudorus and you can a streak of blood across the front of his armor, along his upper chest. Around the edges of the mark, you can marks which probably indicate that the metal has been cut. How could blood be flowing from metal? That's impossible and it does not appear that he has been cut all the way through.
Correction: You're assuming that it's his blood. Given the sheer number of men that he's killed, it's far more likely that this is simply a splash of blood from one of them.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Corrected entry: At the beginning when the prisoners have escaped into the city, they come out through a manhole cover, now I doubt that Jerusalem would have had manholes that far back.
Correction: The Indus Valley civilisation had covered sewerage systems in their cities as early as 2500BC, a mere 3500 years before the events of the film. The ancient Romans had them, too, and they were responsible for much rebuilding in Jerusalem - it's hardly likely that they would have left out their sanitation methods while doing so.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Corrected entry: In the final battle scene, when Aragorn and crew are creating a "diversion" outside the gates of Mordor, everyone is on horseback. Later in the scene, when Aragorn and the other warriors charge the enemy, they are on foot. Even if they did dismount, where are the horses? (02:32:00)
Correction: In close combat with no room to manoeuvre, being on horseback can be a serious liability - the possibility of being pulled off and then killed before getting up is too high, so it makes sense to dismount. The Host would not want riderless horses around - the likelihood is that they'd spook and prove a danger to the soldiers around them - so they simply designated a couple of riders to lead the horses out of the combat zone. It would have taken some considerable time for the Mordor forces to surround them, so there was plenty of time for this to happen.

Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)
Corrected entry: At a point about 13 minutes into the film you see a shot of Data's ship navigating around the ringed planet, just at the point where the Admiral, looking at the view screen, says "That's our ship". Assuming the ship to be approximately 50 feet in length (as can be seen by the subsequent shot), that would make the ringed planet no more than a quarter of a mile across at the very most. (It could be explained away by line-of-sight effect but it sure looks like the ship is going round and behind an incredibly tiny planet.).
Correction: If it can be explained readily through line-of-sight, it's not a mistake.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Corrected entry: When Arthur is lying down in front of the bulldozer, he says, 'well, I'm going t-' and then it cuts to another shot at a different angle, as he's saying, 'we'll see who rusts first.'
Correction: Arthur says, "I'm game, we'll see who rusts first." No continuity error.

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid (1969)
Corrected entry: Butch Cassidy's real name was Robert Leroy Parker and The Sundance Kid's real name was Harry Longabaugh (both are mentioned in the film).
Correction: Then they don't need to be mentioned here, do they.

X-Men 2 (2003)
Corrected entry: When the X-Men's jet was about to crash and Magneto saves them by preventing the crash, how did he also know to repair the hole in the back of the jet? As the jet comes to a stop, the nose of the jet is facing Magneto.
Correction: Magneto's highly attuned to metals - as we see when he picks up on the metal in the guard's blood - and things constructed using them. When he took control of the plane, he sensed the disruption caused by the attack and bent the metal back into shape.

Gladiator (2000)
Corrected entry: When Commodus walks up the steps in Rome to meet the other men, on the far away shot, there are a lot of steps to go up, yet when we see Commodus pass Lucilla after a few steps, he is suddenly at the top with greetings from the men in white clothing. (00:57:40)
Correction: Well, we could have watched Commodus climb up a lot of steps, but it would have been a bit boring. This is a standard editing technique to speed things up a bit - by no means a mistake.

American Psycho (2000)
Corrected entry: When Patrick has just killed Paul with the axe, he goes to Paul apartment and leaves a message on his answering machine and ends the message with the quote "hasta la vista baby", which is a line from the 1992 movie Terminator 2 Judgement Day. American Psycho was set in the 1980's.
Correction: "Hasta la Vista baby" is the quote, and that is from T2. If Patrick just said "Hasta la Vista," then it wouldn't matter. But since he said "baby," it makes it a mistake.
Correction: "Hasta la vista" is a Spanish phrase that means, roughly, "see you later". While, yes, the phrase was famously used in T2, it didn't magically spring into existence for that film, so there's no reason why Patrick can't use it.

Gladiator (2000)
Corrected entry: When Proximo is testing each slave, by giving them a wooden sword, they practice with a bigger slave. After each fight, Proximo says either yellow or red. The black guy who fights gets a red mark, so does Maximus, yet in the Roman Province scene in the small arena, someone says put red with yellow, yet when Maximus and the black guy come out, they are both "red". (00:49:20 - 00:52:50)
Correction: Maximus is never given a red mark - he refuses to fight in the testing, which (although we don't actually see Proximo state a colour) would certainly earn him a yellow mark, allowing him to be paired with the red-marked Juba. The yellow mark on his tunic can be seen very clearly on multiple occasions during the arena fight.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Corrected entry: When Zaphod first meets Ford and Arthur, Zaphod says he did not know that Ford was on earth, yet he still knows to call him Ford Prefect, a name Ford gave himself whilst on earth.
Correction: According to Douglas Adams, Ford went back in time and retroactively changed his birth name to Ford Prefect, so everybody knows him by that name.

The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
Corrected entry: When we see the outside of New Delhi, there is a news reporter outside, speaking in English (he is definitely Indian). If he's Indian, why is he speaking in English?
Correction: A major conference of the type depicted in the film would attract interest from all over the world. The reporter is covering the conference on behalf of an unspecified English language news network - you can see that the logo on his microphone has the word NEWS written on it in English.

The Matrix (1999)
Corrected entry: Just after the big lobby scene, you see Trinity and Neo enter the lift, look on the left wall and it says "Levels 40-82," yet when Neo stops the elevator, he stops it at 41, but the elevator drops a lot further than one floor. (01:39:50 - 01:40:20)
Correction: As they enter the building on the level where they enter the lift, it's pretty clear that they're not on the 40th floor at the time. That lift is simply designated for use to reach the upper floors from the ground floor. Thus they enter at ground level, take the lift up to floor 41 (halfway between the ground floor and the roof) where they exit, then the lift drops back down that same distance.

The Name of the Rose (1986)
Corrected entry: The inquisitor Bernardo Gui is portrayed in a more sinister light here than he really seemed to be: a) he was a more 'moderate' inquisitor (of 900 sentences, most were imprisonment and only 42 deaths); b) he did not die by the hands of a violent mob in Italy; he passed away peacefully in a Lauroux abbey in 1331.
Correction: The film is not intended to be a realistic portrayal of history and it can therefore do whatever it likes with the characters portrayed - it is artistic license.

The Island (2005)
Corrected entry: We find out that "The Island" is set in 2019, but how come everywhere people go there are things from 2005? There are loads of cars that people have now, plus the advert Jordan 2 Delta looks at when she reaches LA (the CK eternity advert with Scarlett Johansson) is from 2005.
Correction: Fourteen years is not that long a period of time - many people still have cars of that age, and some car designs don't change that quickly, so it's entirely plausible that we'd see a reasonable number of vehicles that look very familiar, and the same applies to other items. As for the advert, in story terms, that's not the 2005 advert with Scarlett Johannson, it's a more recent 2019 advert with Sarah Jordan, who merely bears a startling resemblance to the earlier actress.

Timecop (1994)
Corrected entry: Unfortunately McComb hadn't grasped the concept of timeloops. The 2004 McComb says that even if he dies the 1994 version will still become president, however, based on the theories used in time travel films the 2004 McComb would always be destined to die in that house therefore never becoming president. That sequence was played out twice in the film anyway which adds weight to the theory.
Correction: Time travel films are not under any obligation to use a common set of theories, so each individual film can handle things in its own way. Yes, that particular McComb, from the timeline where Walker interferes with his actions, will die in the house. However, by eliminating Walker before he can interfere, time has been diverted onto another course, effectively creating an alternate McComb who, with no Walker to get in the way, will successfully complete his plot to rise to the Presidency.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Corrected entry: During the fight between Anakin and Count Dooku, there's at least one shot where a lightsaber's shadow is visible on the floor. You see a shadow because they use a stick during the filming and later add the special effect.
Correction: Throughout the series of films, there are numerous shots where a lightsabre blade is seen to cast a shadow. As we don't know anything about the energy used to create the blade, we cannot say that it shouldn't cast a shadow, not least at the blades aren't translucent, meaning they definitely block light in some way.
Corrected entry: In the final fight scene after Jack shoots Barbosa he cuts his hand with his sword before tossing the medallion to Will. Jack is cursed so there would be no blood to lift the curse. Only Will's blood can lift the curse.
Correction: As we see when Elizabeth stabs Barbossa, people under the effect of the curse do bleed. As is stated at least twice, everybody who takes a coin from the chest has to give a blood sacrifice - all the pirates already have, leaving just Will, standing in for his father. Jack then takes a coin, so both he and Will have to give a blood sacrifice in order for the curse to be lifted.

Correction: We see all the passengers bracing themselves before the jump - they're bent down low enough that you wouldn't see them from outside. Jack is holding closely onto Annie, bracing her, so, from the outside, you'd only really see one shape.
