Revealing mistake: Mac suggest to drive Magnum and Julie to watch the sun rise at the Pali lookout. When Magnum collapses, his watch is at 10 minutes to 2. In April (Queen's birthday), the sun rises in Hawaii around 6, surely Mac did not plan to drive them around for 4 hours. (00:42:00)

Continuity mistake: At the Boom Boom Room (at least that's how Higgins christens it) the waitress serves drinks to Magnum, his date and the third candle. The woman plucks away all the straws and decorations while Thomas takes one of those fake tiny sips from his bottle. At the cut, the stick the pineapple is on switched side of the glass, and her hand clawed around the glass has the fingers spread in different fashion. (00:35:40)

Audio problem: TC is calling Higgins to figure out where he could find Magnum. Higgins is busy with his construction work, but since the phone keeps ringing he has to answer. The second ring has been edited in a split second of delay to John Hillerman's reaction, though, so Higgins 'jumps' too early. (00:32:30)

Revealing mistake: MacReynolds is summoned by his superior officer on the observation site. The officer holds his binoculars perfectly still and mostly horizontal, but in the POV shots the visual keeps shifting higher and higher following the missile's trajectory. (00:12:00)

Continuity mistake: When Magnum is in the middle of his deductive process, Higgins indulges him answering that hardly anyone manufactures the gunpowder he needs anymore because of the low flashpoint. There's a cut in the middle of the sentence; the matches lined up in front of the chopping board are positioned differently on the right end, the one he places the newest victim at. (00:08:20)

Other mistake: When Magnum passes a can of nondescript soda to Bridget outside of the Navy building after the chat with Maggie, the vending machine has a big triangle of masking tape to conceal the Coca Cola logo for sponsorship reasons - however the production failed to cover the Sprite button which remains recognizable. Continuity mistake: When the girls come out of the crate, the lid of the crate rests on top of it, sticking out by quite a bit, and parallel. During the fight, when Selleck is replaced by a stunt double, the lid sticks out by a small corner. Earlier when he was trying to talk his way out of it and let the girl go, the shadow of the lid also varied in size depending on the camera angle. (00:10:20)

Continuity mistake: In a remarkable coincidence, the Admiral Magnum needs to talk to happens to be chilling at his place about to get a mouthful of Higgins' buns. When he answers Magnum "Probably too much" after the vigorous shake, his left hand is behind the seat of the Ferrari, but it's on the car door in the shot that follows. (00:22:15)
