Magnum: I'm sorry Rick. I'm a little rusty on the serve. I just gotta get it up a little more, but when I do, it'll be a monster.
TC: Not with that follow through.
Magnum: What's wrong with it?
TC: You need more extension.
Magnum: I do?
TC: Mmm-hmm.
Rick: Try and keep this one on the court will you. We're running out of balls!
Magnum: OK, this one will be in Rick, I promise.

Stupidity: The whole episode has heavy farce tones and shouldn't be taken seriously, because the main plot point does not make sense; unless somehow he was able to produce remains of a body in the plane wreckage, Mr. MacLeish would have never been legally declared dead.

Foiled Again - S3-E7
Stupidity: Magnum hears from Carol that she's "sorry" and turning to the left he witnesses Higgins getting dragged in court. The two policemen who are escorting him stop at distance from the building, no obstacle or pressure, no reason other than providing a dramatic shot. (00:23:50)

The Eighth Part of the Village - S3-E3
Continuity mistake: Shooting at the two snipers from the helicopter, Magnum hits one, then in a shot with camera inside the cockpit he asks "Closer TC, closer." In that shot, both the villains are still standing. (00:43:40)

Stupidity: Earl Gianelli is a man on the run and can't ever show up as himself or the Mafia is gonna try and kill him, so he fights as a masked wrestler. However, for being a masked wrestler he removes his mask very casually backstage with no particular problem, unlike many masked wrestlers of his era who merely needed to keep their character and kayfabe, much less stringent reasons for them to do so than a permanent mafia death sentence pending upon them.
10th Apr 2020
Stupidity: Magnum saves Higgins from a scheme that was amazingly poorly planned to begin with; forgetting for a moment that as estate manager, Higgins should be very well aware of the closing time of 'the bank' (as if there were just one in Hawaii) even more than Magnum, Catherine could have not just relied on Higgins being this ignorant.

Revealing mistake: During the gun prank, you can see in the revolver's cylinder the bullets - except when it squirts, the bullets are gone. (00:47:00)

Revealing mistake: When the plane is blowing dust all over the lawyer and the money-conscious nephew, you can see the face of the extra piloting the plane instead of Donnelly Rhodes. (00:03:50)

Visible crew/equipment: When in the opening credits the names of the special guest stars Donnelly Rhodes and Elaine Joyce appear, on the side of the Pitts Special you can see the reflection of the set lights. (00:03:50)

Continuity mistake: Marina does a Bette Davis on Magnum and then turns around to leave. She stands in the middle of the entrance, with still her glass in hand. Quick cut to Magnum, and the glass conveniently disappeared. (00:26:55)

Character mistake: The Grim Reaper is at the party to grab the paper copy of the will - however, after Magnum is incapacitated turtle-style, the guy never bothers to actually retrieve it from the mantle he put it on, nor Magnum checks out what the piece of paper is. (00:35:05)
3rd Apr 2020
Continuity mistake: Magnum hears a noise at the bottom floor and starts walking downstairs. In the shot right before the close-up of his foot breaking the step, at the top of the stairs you can see some candles he was not carrying and are not consistent with the illumination of the scene - in fact you can see Magnum with candles only in a brief shot in the 'teaser' before the opening credits, in a scene that was left out of the episode. (00:28:40)

Character mistake: Carlton's favourite gun is a Colt "Bisley Model", rare and produced starting 1894. When he introduced it to Magnum in the cabinet he called it a "Colt 45, vintage 1860" (or sixty-something, as Magnum started his line when he might have not finished). (00:16:50)

Continuity mistake: When Wilson MacLeish is kneeling on the golf course, the light changes drastically between close-ups (shadows) and wider angles (strong sunlight on the chest). (00:45:10)

3rd Apr 2020
Continuity mistake: In the hilarious stretched out comedy scene with Magnum trying to chase the suspect in his armor, whenever he is shown charging at the door and eventually breaking in, he is wearing the sword that he never retrieved - and in the moments when it's Tom Selleck in the armor and not a stuntman, he is not wearing it.
