Corrected entry: Picard and Worf destroy the deflector dish. This means the Enterprise is left without the ability to deflect anything, including dust. Without that ability, it would be unable to proceed at even impulse speeds, let alone go to warp, as the impacts would create micro-holes in the ship and thus destroy it.

Beetlejuice (1988)
Corrected entry: When the Maitlands' car crashes, there are no side or back windows (so that the car would sink faster).
Correction: Or perhaps they had all the windows down on that lovely warm day?
If their windows were open, wouldn't they have had an easier time to get out of the car and live?
Not if they were injured in the crash, or even stunned.
The front windows were, in fact, open and, generally speaking, yes, that would've helped them get out faster. But there are other factors, like if they couldn't get the seatbelts undone or possibly received a concussion when they hit the water.

The Abyss (1989)
Corrected entry: Early in the movie, when they're going to search the sub, Jammer asks how big the drop-off is and Catfish replies by saying it's "2.5 miles [13,200 ft] straight down". When Bud went over the drop-off to disarm the bomb, he went well past 13,200 ft.
Correction: 2.5 miles must be as far as anyone's measured reliably. We saw the pressure destroy Little Geek when Bud is descending showing that a submersible can only go so far. Catfish is just giving him the best answer they currently have.

Sphere (1998)
Corrected entry: The spaceship was sealed. Since they did not know the pressure of the air within the spacecraft, it can not be assumed it's the same as the ambient pressure, to which they were adjusted. Any change would have effected their bodies. Just as they had to adapt to the base station pressure when they first arrived.
Correction: If you look closely, there is a small LCD display next to the airlock they enter through that displays "Adjusting Atmosphere". The ship automatically adjusted its own atmosphere to match what they were breathing underwater.

Transformers (2007)
Corrected entry: In the scene where Frenzy has located the cube under the dam, he is repaired from his wounds inflicted by Mikaela earlier in the movie, returning to his full state by merely being near the cube. Later, in the scene where Bumblebee loses his legs, he hands Sam the cube to take to the rooftop, but he is still missing his legs, so Mikaela hooks him to the tow truck to get him out of danger.
Correction: There's several reasons this could happen. Bumblebee is much bigger and would take longer to repair as well as requiring raw materials to fabricate new parts. The Allspark has been shrunken down to its portable size, which could pare down its functions as well. The Allspark might be 'set' to only repair Decepticons (this being supported by the Transformers it creates later instantly attacking anything they see, ie created evil) and would not fix an Autobot unless its setting was changed.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
Corrected entry: Right before the grandma (Doris Roberts) faints due to the squirrel, Eddie's kids are on the brink of laughing before the scene cuts. Everyone is supposed to be scared.
Correction: Everyone might be scared at first, but once over the initial shock, kids could easily find the adult's panic amusing.
Nope that was a blooper they were laughing it never got cut from the scene.

Iron Man (2008)
Corrected entry: In the opening scene when Tony Stark is riding in a non up armored HMMWV in Afghanistan with several members of the US Air Force. You can tell the HMMWV is not armored by looking at the holes in the side of the vehicle when its attacked. An up armored HMMWV has 1-2 inch thick glass and armor and the holes look dramatically different. There is no way the US military would allow someone of Tony Stark's profile to be riding around in a non-armored vehicle. Months after the US military attacked Afghanistan a General Order prohibited these types of vehicles from leaving protected bases.
Correction: The Army has never, at any point in its history, had enough new equipment to supply everyone, at once. 90%-plus of the up-armoring kits for Humvees are going to Iraq. Whoever was in charge of his security simply didn't have one available.
There is an entry stating that that is no longer like it was a few years ago.

Night of the Comet (1984)
Corrected entry: When Regina is first driving the bike and rounds the corner of the shiny marble building, you can see someone's reflection on the right side of the building, walking around.
Correction: Could have been another survivor wandering around. After just being attacked by a comet zombie Regina ain't gonna stop to check!

Night of the Comet (1984)
Corrected entry: After the comet passes, and the sun rises and we see deserted streets. The third shot in, we see some construction equipment in the street. On the far right side you can see someone walking out of the building in the entire shot.
Correction: There are bound to be more survivors than Regina's gang. This couldn't be one of them?

Stargate: Atlantis (2004)
Corrected entry: After Rod has been sent back to his original universe, the team checks how much power of the ZPM they have wasted. The monitor reads "ZPM Module Depleted". This makes no sense, since ZPM is an abbreviation for Zero Point Module. Therefore the monitor should read "ZPM depleted" and not "Zero Point Module Module depleted".
Correction: Can't really call that an error. People talk about their PIN number all the time for example. Your Personal Identification Number number? At worst it's an error on the part of the person who programmed the Ancient/Terran interface program, but not even significant enough to count as a character mistake.

Planet of the Apes (1968)
Corrected entry: If any disaster were to occur such as what happened here, the Statue of Liberty would be the first thing to go. Yes, it stood up in Day After Tomorrow, but Roland Emmerich knew that it wouldn't in real life. In reality, the statue isn't all that strong; even in a gust of wind, the arm of the statue sways 8 feet from side to side. And yet all of the buildings are gone in whatever horrible disaster occurred, and the flimsiest structure in New York outside of a billboard is still standing.
Correction: So the statue couldn't have been encased in layers of ash like Pompeii? Gradually buried then uncovered in its current position for Taylor to find? It's been renovated a few times since erected, it couldn't have been structurally strengthened before the war? It's also possible that it's just the top half of the statue sticking out. It's highly unlikely, yes, but not impossible.

Commando (1985)
Corrected entry: This may be a bit obvious, but there is no army surplus store in America that can sell what Matrix finds there. It's basically impossible to buy automatic weapons without government permission, not to mention the grenades, bombs, and rocket launchers.
Correction: By the way the weapons were hidden behind a huge sliding wall, the implication is the owner of the store was a black market arms dealer.

Quantum of Solace (2008)
Corrected entry: When Bond walks into the hotel in Haiti, a notice can be seen on the inside of the door, giving instructions on what to do in case of fire in French and English. The French section is headed "EN CASE D'INCENDIE". The correct French for "in case of fire" is "en cas d'incendie". The French word "case" means various things but does not have the meaning "event" that the English word "case" does.
Correction: I stayed in a hotel in Washington once where a stairwell fire door read: "Emergency Exit Only. Alarm Will Soond ". Misspellings are possible in any language.

Die Hard (1988)
Corrected entry: When John is first trying to get Al's attention, he hits the window several times with a chair without breaking it, but at the end, after John shoots Hans, he easily breaks a window by just staggering back into it.
Correction: The bullet went through Hans, shattering it just as his body hit it.

Octopussy (1983)
Corrected entry: Kamal says, "The egg has been recovered" to Octopussy. And then, "You should be pleased." She replies, "I'm not pleased; it was stolen in the first place." Well, Kamal just brought the original egg back - but it was the fake that was stolen.
Correction: She's pissed that her security wasn't good enough to prevent it from being stolen, real or fake.

This Island Earth (1955)
Corrected entry: When Cal and Joe are approaching the airfield early in the morning, you can see the wipers moving. But as the jeep pulls closer into view, you can make out through the fog that Cal is moving the wipers manually himself.
Correction: I don't see how this is a mistake. Cal and Joe are in an old military jeep that have hydraulically powered wipers. But if the hydraulics go out, they can be operated manually, which he does.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
Corrected entry: In the first scene when Data is captured by the Borg Queen and he is restrained, he informs her that the encryption code is locked in his neuralnet and can not be forcibly removed, you see 2 small drill bits being drilled right into his head by his left ear. Later in the movie when they are talking about the flesh on his arm (before the flesh is grafted onto his face) while he is still being restrained, there are NO drill holes in his face. From prior episodes in STNG Data is NOT self healing. How did the holes fix themselves? And if the Borg queen is going to graft flesh on his face there, why would they bother fixing the holes? (00:39:00 - 00:46:00)
Correction: The Borg Queen is trying to win Data over to her side, not to force him. So any damage they do to him while preparing to attach real skin to him will be fixed to show her good faith.

Casino Royale (2006)
Corrected entry: During the poker games as usual the gamblers say: "check", meaning they pass the opportunity to bet to the next person. However, in the Polish cinema translation the subtitles say "czekam" instead of "sprawdzam", which is the word which should be used. "Czekam" means "I'm waiting" - while it sounds similar to "check", it makes no sense in the context of the game. (01:08:50)
Correction: Not really, "check" just means that you are going to wait and see what the other players do, since if one of them bets, you have to call, raise or fold. "I'm waiting" would be a perfectly valid interpretation.

Day of the Dead (1985)
Corrected entry: Towards the end of the movie, just after Rickles is torn apart by the zombies, Steele comes running towards the door that Rhodes locked. He uses his pistol to kill a few zombies, but then he runs out of bullets and puts the gun back in his holster. The slide on his pistol should be back if the chamber is empty, but it appears to be in the normal position.
Correction: He either closed the slide out of habit before he holstered it, or he had a misfire as opposed to running out of ammo.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
Corrected entry: Part of Absolute Zero, 0 degrees Kelvin, deals with the stoppage of time. As long as an atom is in motion, it is generating heat. Lasers are being used today not to remove heat from molecules, but to slow them down to the point of almost stopping and that is the closest to Absolute Zero scientists have been able to hit. That being said: The temperature in the Enterprise and Romulan ship would be far colder than that, and very much closer to 0 than the temperature of space, to Picard, Troi, Geordi and Data. They have an isolation field around them, but that is not a life support generator providing them with neither heat nor oxygen. They would quickly freeze to death in that time bubble and slowly suffocate since the atmosphere would nearly be solid to them.
Correction: Geordi and Data built the isolation field, they surely would have taken this into account, the field might very well provide both. Without actually being able to nearly stop time around normal people, I don't think we can say what its effects will be on them. The science on Trek constantly violates today's "known" physics, just as a 747 violates the "known" physics of the late 1800's ie. "man will never fly".

Correction: A. Enterprise is mostly in orbit and travels a short distance through the solar system, even our spacecraft today do that safely for weeks without damage. B. Her structural integrity fields provide limited protection against spaceborne debris. C. The crew will certainly effect repairs before they return to the future.
