Character mistake: The pilot says to his wife that the flying saucer was cigar-shaped. The actual shape was more like two dishes attached together. (00:04:45 - 00:12:20)
Character mistake: When Jackie the babysitter is stuck in the closet, she explains to George and Kathy that the door was locked. George says Amy there's no lock on this door. Her real name is Amy and her film name is Jackie.
Character mistake: Buffalo Bill's revolver is a double action, meaning did not need to cock his gun before firing it (you only need to do so with single-action revolvers. Cocking a double-action just makes the next trigger pull easier.) He could've just shot Starling. His stupidity got him killed.
Character mistake: When Anastasia has to make out the 5 million dollar check to "cash" to get the money to release Mia, she signs the check with her old last name, "Anastasia Steele" instead of "Anastasia Grey", which is written on the top left corner of the check.
Suggested correction: A key point in the movie is how Christian is upset that she didn't take his name in her work life, so it wouldn't be unreasonable that she signed the check using her maiden name (it also could have been just as easily a force of habit thing, it does take time to get used to using the correct name!).
Character mistake: When Murdoch finds the correct page in the phonebook, it is not sorted correctly. e.g. "Harber G" should be before "Harber TJ" and "Harrison Dale" should be before "Harrison E" (00:44:18)
Character mistake: When Nicolas returns from Mexico and goes to the gate of his house, he sees a sign that says his house is being sold at public auction. The word "foreclosure" is spelled incorrectly. It is spelled "forclosure."
Character mistake: When Paul is looking through Annie's album, there is an article on her as a nurse. The headline has her name as Annie M. Wilkes. But, in the accompanying photo her name is listed as Annie C. Wilkes.
Character mistake: Although Dr. Kalarjian said that there is a "code blue", which means a patient requiring resuscitation or other immediate medical attention, she wanders over there without rushing at all.
Suggested correction: When she was getting closer, she started rushing more. It took a while for her to get there but maybe that was just done to fool the audience. Kimberly did think she was going to kill Isabella after all.
Character mistake: There's no apparent reason for Spock's conviction that the gravity boots are a damning piece of evidence that will reveal the assassins, especially considering how useless they prove to be after being found planted in an innocent man's locker.
Character mistake: When Cutter is talking with Chief Biggs for the first time, right after the negotiations for fuel, Cutter says he is the former head of security for the airline. Since he has just been hired for that role (after being an independent security consultant), he should have called himself the future head of security, or new, or something of that nature. Former would indicate he has resigned from the position.
Character mistake: In Pitch Black they established the system they crashed in (M-344/G) had 3 stars. Jack stated it when the 2nd sunrise started, and the solar system model also had 3 stars. In this film when Boss Johns starts asking about M-344/G he says it is "a backwater system with 2 suns and 1 habitable planet."
Character mistake: During the "heart attack prank" just before the paramedics get to Frank, Eastwood mistakenly opens his eye before the paramedics wake him.
Suggested correction: It's quite possible that Frank was awakened by the commotion of the EMTs rushing in.
Character mistake: When looking at the various items in his safe deposit box, one of the passports has the name Henry Reed. However the serial at the bottom of the passport is mistyped as REED/HENTY. (00:41:25)
Character mistake: Sir John describes St. Columbanus as a gypsy from the East, but in fact St. Columbanus was Irish and founded one of the first monasteries in Scotland (on Iona island), one of the most important in Christendom.
Character mistake: Early in the film, Sister Paxton reveals that she wants to come back as a butterfly after she dies. Reincarnation is not a tenet of Mormonism.
Character mistake: The newspaper headline quotes "parent's" death in a murder-suicide story. Should be "parents' deaths" as both have died. (We can forgive the newspaper not picking up on the fact they were killed by a government assassin).
Character mistake: When the false passport application is found, they say that the passport was mailed on Jul 14. When Lebel tell the Minister about the passport, he says that it was issued on Jul 30.
Character mistake: When Eric Roberts' character receives his letter at the start of the film it says "congradulations." instead of congratulations.
Character mistake: Upon arriving to the house they say Zoe's mother committed suicide when she was 10 but later on before going back to the house to expose her step mom Sam says her mom committed suicide when she was 8. (00:16:56 - 01:17:46)
Character mistake: When the Smiths first enter the store Home Made, the camera pans around and faces the store's large display picture which reads, "The true measure of a home lies in it's kitchen," but the word "it's" should be "its."
