Other mistake: Throughout the movie large footprints of heffalumps are shown. However, when the heffalumps bound around, they never create any footprints of any kind.
Other mistake: In the final scene where the police chief is barreling through the hospital on his bed, he goes along a straight path, yet when the two inspectors and the assistant come down the stairs they come out the side of the corridor. If the police chief followed a straight path, how did they come out of the side of the corridor, and how did the bed turn around a 90 degree corner at that speed?
Suggested correction: At 1:27:46 Inspector Dreyfus' hospital bed blows through a set of blue hospital doors. At 1:27:51 we see from a different angle, those same doors still partially open but swinging shut and then at 1:27:55 we see Inspector Clouseau and the others emerge from a different hallway, the blue hospital doors now shut behind them. Inspector Dreyfus' bed never made a turn as evidence by the doors. The trio though, for some reason took a different route chasing his bed.
Other mistake: Toward the end of the movie, as Johnny Depp and his leading lady are being led down into the dungeon, you can actually see the camera bouncing and shaking and hear it hitting the stairs as it moves down the stairs.
Other mistake: When Brad gets hit by a car, the car passes by a window, but there's no reflection of the car in the window.
Other mistake: When Jerry buys "The Catcher in the Rye," the cover is upside down. When facing the front cover, the spine of the book is on the right side, instead of the left.
Other mistake: Towards the film end, when George climbs up stairs with the gun to kill others, he walks into the passage and shuts the door. A mirror is there in the passage, but there's no reflection of George in it. (01:15:15)
Other mistake: While inspecting the gems from the robbery, Stephen Baldwin is looking through the wrong end of the jewellers magnifying glass.
Other mistake: When Sheriff Tucker shows Pam the newspaper clippings taken from Roy's wallet, plainly two of three columns in the article are identical and have nothing to do with Jason. (01:21:35)
Other mistake: In the scene where the guys first fly into Newark, they are seen getting off the airplane after landing. When the camera pans around the back of the airplane there are orange gust locks on the rudder and elevator. The gust locks are used when parking the airplane overnight and would not be installed just after landing.
Other mistake: When Claire Spencer loses her husband's mistress' braid in the lake, she tells him this and Dr. Norman Spencer acts like it's the first time he's heard her talk about it as he picks it out of the water. She has, however, mentioned the braid a short time before this to him, right after the rough sex they've had.
Other mistake: At the very beginning of the film, when the two cars are along side each other, the man wearing the hat leans out of the car window to challenge the women in the other car to a race, watch out for when he speaks, you can see that his words don't match his mouth movements - he's talking out of sync.
Other mistake: When Ashley Judd is being chased by the killer she runs downstairs and hits her aquarium. In the first shot you see her turn her back and hit the aquarium, in the next shot you see her hit it with her shoulder.
Other mistake: As Tom Cruise stands outside the Sonata Cafe, he sees snaps of Nick Nightingale's band. Kip Fleming on bass, Larry McVey on drums and Bobby Berman on guitar. Inside the Cafe, Nick introduces his band in a different order and instruments; Larry McVey on bass and Kip Fleming on drums.
Other mistake: In the scene where they are 1st landing at Bangor it is known that there is no electricity at the airport. If you look closely during the landing you will see that the runway lights are on. (00:50:40)
Other mistake: When Wendy and Kevin are grabbing lunch, just before Frankie Cheeks dies, the guy asks to take their orders (via the microphone) Wendy and Kevin never reply throughout the rest of the scene, and they are at the restaurant for at least another 2-3 minutes (during the whole of Frankie's death sequence) The guy working at the restaurant must be extremely patient not to ask for their orders again.
Other mistake: When Tom is lying on the road closely inspecting the local ant population, the doctor's cinquecento has to brake and almost skids off the dirt road. However, there was no need for such an emergency stop since the doctor was driving quite slowly and Tom was still about 50 meters away from where the car stopped. (00:45:35)
Other mistake: There's a scene where they turn a wheel to control the flow of water into a much larger chamber. The cavern that is presumably completely filled with water (water is dripping off the ceiling) is massive. The flow from the smaller chamber into the cavern is relatively small. They enter moments after stopping the flow to find the cavern is drained. It should A) either take the cavern a very long time to drain or B) the cavern should never have been fully filled with water.
Other mistake: At the end of the movie, when Cory is in Natalie's bedroom, Cory stops and looks at a picture of Natalie and his daughter wearing a high school graduation cap and gown. Cory said his daughter was only 16 when she died so she would've already been dead by the time Natalie graduated. (01:36:00)
Other mistake: Finbar is shown torturing a victim while the victim has his head in a halo used for immobilizing a person's head. The screws to hold the victim's head tight can be seen not to be touching his head, yet the victim is still bleeding from the screws.
Other mistake: When Norman and Mary are at the swamp, the sheriff hands him the ashtray they found and bates explains that it belonged to Mr Toomey. Mary say "Who"? and the sheriff explains who he is. This makes no sense as Mary knew full well who Toomey was and had no reason to play dumb.
Suggested correction: She wasn't playing dumb. She says WHO because she didn't hear the name correctly.
