Character mistake: After Veronica Corningstone becomes an anchor, there is a montage of newspaper articles featuring her. Her name is misspelled as "Veronica Cornerstone" in one of the headlines.

Character mistake: At Duke Boudreau's bar, the potential recruits for the sting are told, "Gondorff is setting up a con on the North side". Later in the film, Agent Polk tells Lt. Snyder, "Gondorff is running a con on the South side". The actual address for the betting hall is not given, but it is just down the alley from Klein's, which does have a South side address.
Suggested correction: It's possible recruits were given the wrong information on purpose until they'd been cleared for participation. Misinformation is a good way to confuse and delay any unwanted attention.
This does not correct the posting. "Polk" tells Snyder that Gondorff is running a con on the NORTH side, which is incorrect. He has absolutely no reason to try to mislead Snyder.

Character mistake: In the opening scene where Toula describes her house, she says it is complete with "Corinthian columns." The columns on the house are of the "Ionic" style, not Corinthian.

Character mistake: When the mayor invites the new sheriff into his house, he calls out for his daughter, Prudy. But calls out "Trudy" several times instead. Later in the film he corrects himself.

Character mistake: Lisa is testifying about the 1963 Pontiac Tempest and the 1964 Buick Skylark being the same height, width, and wheelbase. While the Tempest and Skylark shared the same components, the 1963 and 1964 models were quite different from each other. The 1964 Skylark and Tempest moved to a 115 inch wheelbase and a larger body and frame. The 1963 Skylark and Tempest were smaller with a 112 inch wheelbase. An expert as she claims to be wouldn't confuse the two.

Character mistake: After Maverick gives the "actors" their hundred dollars, he says "News travels fast in the Old West." Why would he refer to the west as "old" when, for him, it's the present? This is an expression that didn't come about till later on, when the west BECAME old.
Suggested correction: This was a joke, since it's a comedy movie.

Character mistake: When Barb introduces herself to Flint, Steve calls her a monkey, and she corrects him saying that she's an "Orangutang", pronouncing the G at the end. But the correct word is Orangutan, with no G sound. Barb would surely know this, as a genius ape.

Character mistake: Before he scampers inside to spy on the humans, Claudius tells the other animals, "I'm your mouse on the inside!" Maybe he should check a mirror while he's in there. Claudius isn't a mouse - he's a rat.

Character mistake: When young Alan is talking young Sarah, he says that he found a board game at the factory. Alan didn't find the game at the factory. He found the game across from the factory at a construction site.
Suggested correction: The construction might very well be part of the factory, a new factory building for example.
The sign at the construction site said it was an "Executive Office Annex" that they were building.
Even though the sign said it was an Annex, construction was still being done outside of the main factory where Alan found the game. Not inside of the main factory itself.

Character mistake: Police Chief Lutz tells Axel (Johnny Wishbone) that he checked with Immigration and they never heard of Johnny Wishbone. He says, "you're illegal, buster." Johnny Wishbone is from St. Croix, which is in the United States Virgin Islands. Johnny Wishbone would be a U.S. Citizen. (00:51:27)

Character mistake: One of the latin chefs says in Spanish "Tengo un novia", when the correct way of saying it is "Tengo UNA novia". The way he said it sounds completely absurd.

Character mistake: At the security guard graduation, the instructor opens a pouch of quarters and says to use that to call the cops when things get nasty. You don't need to put money in a pay phone to dial 911. (00:21:05)

Character mistake: When writing in his ledger trying to reach 1 million oysters shucked, Adam's numbers do not add up. After 998,246 the next entry is 996,691 followed by 1 million. Did he mysteriously un-shuck 1,555 oysters?
