Light Sleeper - S3-E14

Continuity mistake: When NCIS is staking out the grocery store in Koreatown and they see Lee Sung answer the phone, the phone instantly switches hands, and the hand that was holding the phone inexplicably appears on top of the phone frame. (00:27:20)

Bounce - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: Tony is just about to take a drink of his family's secret hangover remedy when Gibbs walks in and asks him where he was last night. First Tony is holding the glass with his left hand. He then switches to his right hand when he answers his boss. (00:02:15)

Dagger - S6-E9

Continuity mistake: When Tony and McGee are on stakeout at the coffee shop, McGee raises his coffee cup to his mouth and prepares to take a sip. The cup is then down by his chest and he raises it to his mouth again. (00:01:55)

Doppelgänger - S2-E12

Factual error: Obviously written to make the story interesting, but Gibbs says that the first criminal caught by DNA was a Mafia don in Sicily. Well as anyone interested in forensics knows it was Colin Pitchfork in England.

Agent Afloat - S6-E2

Character mistake: McGee seeks Director Vance's permission to hack into the Sea Hawk's computer system. He says that in the past four months, he hasn't worked any crime scenes, etc. This is incorrect, as near the start of the episode, he and Ziva go to an officer's home to advise his wife that he is missing. They discover her murdered and then the team, including McGee, are working the crime scene.

Kill Chain - S11-E12

Character mistake: Ellie Bishop introduces herself to Delilah as Emily Bishop in the elevator scene. Her name's Eleanor in the series, but the actress' real name is Emily. She used her real first name in the scene.

Suggested correction: Ellie correctly says, "I'm Ellie Bishop," when she introduces herself to Delilah. I slowed the speed down to 0.5x to confirm.

Endgame - S7-E7

Other mistake: When Director Vance's wife shoots Kai from behind, the bullet passes through her, yet doesn't strike Vance, who is standing directly in front of the North Korean.

Iceman - S4-E18

Continuity mistake: When McGee calls Autopsy looking for Gibbs, Ducky reaches for the receiver with his left hand, but then picks it up with his right. And during their conversation, the receiver jumps from one hand to the other between shots. (00:31:05)

Family Secret - S3-E16

Continuity mistake: When Abby and Gibbs determine that the ambulance exploding wasn't an accident, McGee is visible next to Gibbs. He then mysteriously disappears, and a moment later, walks around the ambulance carrying an evidence baggy. (00:08:15)

Cloak - S6-E8

Plot hole: Season 6, episode 8 ("Cloak"). When Ziva and Tony take the elevator two floors down this takes a full minute. When in a hurry for a call it speeds down, yet for this conversation it (conveniently) took a minute.

Suggested correction: That's because whenever they get a call, or use the lift we see them get in, then arrive where they are going in the next shot. Whenever we see inside the lift it is predominately when Gibbs stops the lift to have a private chat with someone.

Heartland - S6-E4

Continuity mistake: Episode "Heartland": In the first five minutes of the show, after the guys are beaten up in the alley, when the black guy is laid down on the ground there is a blood stain on The Wall, behind where he was standing. When the other guys go to the white guy's aid the blood stain is gone, for about 3-4 shots. When the NCIS team is there gathering evidence the blood is back on The Wall.

Show generally

Factual error: Throughout the show, skyscrapers are consistently shown. The height of buildings in Washington DC is restricted by the Height of Buildings Act of 1910, and there are no buildings taller than 13 stories.

Suggested correction: Please rewatch this scene. It's not a boom mic, it's the vehicle's antenna topper.

Yankee White - S1-E1

Gibbs: I heard you quit, Agent Todd.
Kate Todd: Happy news travels fast. Yes, I resigned. It was the right thing to do.
Gibbs: Yep. Pull that crap at NCIS, I won't give you a chance to resign.
Kate Todd: Is that a job offer?

Agent Afloat - S6-E2

Trivia: Season 6, "Agent Afloat": Maybe real aircraft carriers posing as fictional ones shouldn't let viewers see their registration numbers. When this episode aired, producers heard from several "carrier purists" complaining that CVN74 is the U.S.S. John C. Stennis, not the (non-existent) Seahawk.

Show generally

Question: I finally saw the 2-part episode from the show JAG. Does anyone know what happened to Viv Blackadder? I don't recall hearing anyone ever mention the name on NCIS.

Answer: I hadn't seen the backdoor pilots yet but while it wasn't explicitly stated, at least onscreen, I heard somewhere Vivian got either fired from NCIS due to jeopardizing a case, got resigned from the agency, or transferred to the FBI.

Raykvega423

Answer: I dont believe it is ever mentioned, but like most pilot episodes the characters are often changed, replaced or even removed in this case.
