Continuity mistake: Just after Sayid has woken Sawyer up by throwing water in his face, there is a shot of Sayid from behind the tree Sawyer is tied to, and you can see a bit of Sawyer's hair. However, it is hardly wet, if at all, and when the camera cuts back to Sawyer his hair is drenched again. (00:22:20)
Continuity mistake: When Jack and Kate are discussing who should stay with Sawyer and who should go to Shannon's funeral, as the camera goes back and forth between the two the towel on Sawyer's forehead is there, then not, then back again through the whole scene. (00:07:30)

Continuity mistake: When Michael sits with Walt at the airport, Michael says, "If you're worried about Vincent," and the newspaper in his hands is folded and held straight up with the blue Oceanic envelope. but when he says, "Dogs fly in the luggage compartment all the time," the way the newspaper is folded and held is different, and there is no blue envelope. Continuity mistake: When Locke is about to leave to go search for Claire and Charlie, Michael stops him to talk. Locke throws the backpack over his right shoulder, but in the next close-up it's swung over his left (not a flipped shot). (00:06:15)
Continuity mistake: When Sawyer is in bed with his girl, he puts his finger on her chin and says "What do you want right now?". When it cuts his hand is gone. (00:01:45)
Homecoming - S1-E15
Continuity mistake: When Jack shows Locke the suitcase full of guns, you can see a stick visible in Locke's right hand. However, when Jack asks if Locke knows how to use a gun, you can see that after the camera has panned around, Locke is now holding the gun with both hands, with the stick nowhere to be seen. House of the Rising Sun - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: When Jack is packing water bottles in to the sack and Locke says "I think One of Us should stay and help Charlie salvage the wreckage", you see Jack putting a bottle in to the sack. His hands are now empty, but when it cuts he suddenly has a new bottle in his hand which he puts in to the sack. (00:16:05)
Continuity mistake: During Claire's second visit to the psychic, her hair changes position between shots. In one shot, it's hanging loose and in the next, it's tucked behind her right ear. (00:27:10)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Shannon and Sayid are next to Boone's grave, in one shot there is a necklace on the cross and in the other it disappears. (00:23:40)

Continuity mistake: When Sawyer dumps Kate's belongings out of the backpack onto the sand, their positions on the sand change between various shots. (00:28:45)
Through The Looking Glass (1) - S3-E22
Continuity mistake: When the entire camp is heading up to the radio tower they head up the beach with the water on their right side. After the title screen shows they are walking with the water on their left side. They are going in the opposite direction as before. (00:09:10)
Tricia Tanaka is Dead - S3-E10
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Vincent is running towards Charlie and Hugo, between shots the arm he is carrying in his mouth changes positions. (00:05:10)
Continuity mistake: When John loses his voice, he uses a pad to communicate with Charlie. He writes "I need you to stand guard" in one scene and later shows the same message to Charlie. In the second scene, although it is supposed to be the same message, guard is misspelled "gaurd."
Continuity mistake: When Michael is finished talking with his ex and Walt at a park, over his right shoulder can be seen a dark-haired woman in a black halter top and green slacks walking away. The camera shifts to the opposite view where Michael is looking, and the same woman is seen leaving a newsstand in front of the ex. (00:39:00)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, when Sun is burying the message bottle late at night, the camera shows close-ups of her hands. In the space of a few seconds, she has no ring on her left hand, then a ring, then no ring. (00:40:30)

Revealing mistake: In the scene just after Sawyer is mounting the radar on the mast of the shop, Sayid hands Michael a flare gun. He opens it to show that there is just 1 shot left. If you look closely the flare gun shell has already been fired (notice the center fire pin is indented). (00:34:30)
Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.
