A Bloody Mess - S4-E17

Continuity mistake: When Doug is sitting at the cafeteria with Mark, Peter and baby Reese, his arm is stretched out on the table as Peter says, "fifteen minutes of quality time". The shot changes and suddenly there is no sign of his arm.

A Bloody Mess - S4-E17

Continuity mistake: Just before Peter bends over beside Reese, an extra is starting to walk behind them. The next shot shows the cereal on Peter's head and we should be able to still see the extra, but there's no sign of him.

Gut Reaction - S4-E18

Continuity mistake: In the OR, Peter is trying to save Dr. Swanson's life. Lizzie is standing in the corner watching. She has her right hand up to her chin, resting the elbow on her left hand, which is at her waist. Subsequent shots show the opposite - her left hand on her right.

Shades of Gray - S4-E19

Continuity mistake: The patient Zoe is in the ER with her boyfriend while Doug, Carol and Lydia work around her. At one point she puts her hand up to her throat, but in the next shot it's down by her hip, without enough time for the change.

Shades of Gray - S4-E19

Continuity mistake: Doug goes into the ER room to respond to the boy, who's saying "go away." His mother has her arm around his head and is telling the drunk with his teeth out to go away. Then the shot changes and we see the boy's head, but no mother. A quick shot change and there she is again, cradling his head.

Of Past Regret and Future Fear - S4-E20

Continuity mistake: After Anna tells Tina Marie she might have kidney problems, Tina grabs her husband Emmett's hand and then puts her other hand over it; the next shot shows her hand is still on the tray and then she moves it to cover Emmett's again.

A Hole in the Heart - S4-E22

Continuity mistake: When Doug and Carol are talking in the Pedes ICU, from one angle his head is against the back of the rocking chair, but from the other angle, his head is leaning forward. This continues for the scene, from shot to shot.

A Hole in the Heart - S4-E22

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the show, Doug is examining baby Josh and puts his stethoscope in his ears. Kerry says, "Your actions are totally irresponsible", and the shot goes to Doug. There is no sign of the stethoscope anywhere. The next shot, from behind him, shows it's around his neck. He then takes it off and the next shot should show it in his hands - but it's disappeared again.

A Hole in the Heart - S4-E22

Continuity mistake: When Anna and Max are talking in the lounge, a piece of her hair is hanging over her ear when the shot is from behind her shoulder, but from the front angle, it's tucked smoothly behind her ear.

Day for Knight - S5-E1

Other mistake: After resusitation attempts fail, Lucy is left alone with a dead patient whose phone starts ringing. At that point we can see the "dead" patient's chest rising up and down as he breathes (and he's not on a respirator).

Day for Knight - S5-E1

Visible crew/equipment: Lucy is shown getting a coat from under the desk. Yosh comes up to her and says something, then opens the door and walks out of the shot. When he opens the door, there is a reflection of a man wearing headphones and holding a boom mic.

Day for Knight - S5-E1

Continuity mistake: Mark is showing Lucy around the hospital and they go from an examination room to a trauma room - as they go through the doors, Mark is in front and pushes open the right door and we see it stays open. Lucy never touches it. But the shot showing them coming into the room has Mark letting go of the door and it swinging shut.

Day for Knight - S5-E1

Continuity mistake: Carter and Lucy are standing in the middle of the admitting, where they are talking about a case. Lucy asks, "Does it resemble a Christmas tree?" and Carter's stethoscope goes from being visible over his lapel to being tucked under it.

They Treat Horses, Don't They? - S5-E3

Continuity mistake: When Peter and Elizabeth are in the locker room having a serious talk, Peter's tying his tie - but when the shot is from behind his shoulder, his tie is completely undone. When the shot is on Elizabeth, it's partly tied. This continues for a few shots.

They Treat Horses, Don't They? - S5-E3

Continuity mistake: Doug, Mark and Carol are in the lounge having pizza and Doug has just told them he's the new Pedes ER Attending. Carol asks Mark, "Aren't you thrilled?" Mark is holding a paper cup. A Split Second later, his cup's gone and his hands are apart in front of him. Doug says, "He's got his doubts," and now there's a cup in Mark's left hand.

Masquerade - S5-E5

Continuity mistake: When the med students throw the burning armchair over the balcony it tumbles down the steps, crosses the landing and continues to roll down the second set of steps to within a foot or so of Carter and Bernie. The next shot shows it on the landing again, and then tumbling down the last few steps again.

Masquerade - S5-E5

Continuity mistake: The patient Coco is sitting up in her bed talking to Mark about the drug he gave her. From one camera angle her hands are in front of her, but from another her hands are behind her.

Doug Ross: Dr. Weaver and the sound of her own voice. A love story.

Trivia: Doug Ross frequently hung his head low, appearing ashamed or thoughtful or privately amused, depending on the scene. This wasn't just an element of the character: George Clooney had taken to writing his lines on papers, sheets, and other props.
