Red Dwarf

Camille - S4-E1

Other mistake: When Kryten and Camille are having dinner, Camille puts her "hand" in the soup and begins slurping it up. The level of soup remains the same and doesn't lower despite being slurped. (00:22:25)

Bodyswap - S3-E4

Other mistake: When the group are discussing if they can override the Auto Destruct, the computer voice says 8 minutes 20 seconds until detonation. About 20 seconds after saying this, the computer voice then says 8 minutes 10 seconds until detonation. (00:02:35)

Casual Person

Backwards - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: The scene where the pub manager comes backstage to yell at Rimmer and Kryten was filmed, and then reversed to appear as if he was yelling backwards. Rimmer blinks when he is being yelled at, and due to the scene being played in reverse, his facial movements appear reversed, even though he is supposed to be moving forwards. (00:22:00)

Backwards - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: Lister and Cat get a ride to Nodnol after a man they bump into offers to take them in his van. The logo on the van appears completely normal, and has not been reversed, even though everything in this version of Earth is supposed to be reversed. (00:16:15)

Backwards - S3-E1

Plot hole: The barroom tidy scene in the pub makes absolutely no sense. It is established that this fight started because Lister and the Cat uneat a man's pie, which causes the man to punch Lister, and then the barroom brawl happens, but the events are reversed due to this version of Earth being set in a backwards reality. However, if the events of this fight are put into chronological order, this would mean that Lister uneating the man's pie and being punched by him would have been the last thing to happen during this fight, as it was the first thing to happen in reverse order, and therefore, would also means that there would have been no real reason for the pub patrons would get into a brawl in the first place, as nothing had occurred at that time. Suggested correction: Stars are so far away that they do not appear to move when travelling in space, unless you reach incredibly high speeds or change direction.

Backwards - S3-E1

Other mistake: When Rimmer is testing Kryten on a book of space traffic signs, Kryten stops on one page and is tested, which he says the sign is a binary star. Without turning the page, Rimmer points to a second sign on the same page asking what it is, which he points out is a blue giant about to supernova. After pointing to the time hole, Rimmer turns back to the book, saying "Right. What's this?" whilst still on the same page, pointing to a another sign. The page that is being used has one sign shown on the right hand side page, and the left hand side page is completely blank, equalling one sign on both sides of the page, but two or three signs are made mention to when on the page. Confidence and Paranoia - S1-E5

Revealing mistake: When Confidence is trying to get Lister to take his helmet off, Lister climbs over a railing and jumps around him. It is clear that the footage of Lister jumping around was slowed down to make his movement appear as if there is a lack of gravity. (00:26:35)

Casual Person

Trojan - S10-E1

Continuity mistake: When Howard and Crawford are transported to Trojan, two of the three teleporter doors are open. When Crawford goes through the teleporter, one of the three doors close. Yet when Cat puts the resentment file into Crawford's neck, she starts shooting at everything including the teleporters, and now all the doors are open. (00:23:00 - 00:26:30)

Casual Person

Pete (2) - S8-E7

Revealing mistake: When Rimmer and Lister are being forced out Captain Hollister's office due to the effects of the fight catching up with them, a rattling sound can be heard off-screen, indicating the use of a hidden trolley-like device pushing them into the wall. (00:21:55)

Suggested correction: When setting up the computer, there is an option for frame size. Kryten chooses close up, and when Pree appears on-screen Rimmer reacts to the fact that her breasts aren't visible whilst Kryten says that he likes that frame size. Presumably, there were other frame sizes available that would reveal more of Pree's body, giving meaning to the option.

Future Echoes - S1-E2

Other mistake: When Rimmer is doing Lister's memo, there there are only about a few stars visible out the window, which is far too few given the amount of stars shown in exterior space shots of the ship. Additionally, a star suddenly appears in the window. (00:23:15)

Casual Person

Future Echoes - S1-E2

Other mistake: When the Cat says there better be no dogs on the ship, there are only about two or three stars visible out the window. Far too few given the amount of stars shown in exterior space shots of the ship. (00:05:15)

Casual Person

Psirens - S6-E1

Revealing mistake: As Lister tries to sharpen/shorten his nails after getting out of deep sleep, you will see just before he stops that one nail snaps at the finger. He continues as if nothing happens, holding his hand still, as if it was still in the sharpener. (00:02:00)

Nanarchy - S7-E8

Lister: What, they fixed your core program and then decided they'd be better off without you?
Holly: Yeah, it was shortly after they met me.

Kryten - S2-E1

Question: When Holly is saying about how he has changed music he says that because of the 2 new notes he's made instruments would be bigger. "Triangles will have four sides. Piano keyboards the length of zebra crossings. Course, women will have to be banned from playing the cello." I don't understand the joke about the cello part. Could someone please tell me what he means?

Answer: The cello is a large four-stringed instrument, which, when it is played, stands vertically on the floor between the player's legs (assuming they are seated). If it is to grow as large as the other instuments mentioned will, it would require a rather unseemly lack of femininity to be able to encompass it with the legs.
