Tabula Rasa - S6-E8
Continuity mistake: In 'Tabula Rasa' when the loan shark's henchmen throw a stake at Spike at the start it flies over his head and hits a tree. But, if you compare the angle they approach from with the relative positions of Spike and the tree you can see it would have had to do a 90 degree turn in mid air to fly over his head before hitting the tree. (00:01:00)
The Harsh Light Of Day - S4-E3
Other mistake: We've seen before that vampires are fine as long as they aren't in direct sunlight, yet in this episode Spike is in the shade when Buffy removes the ring and he still starts fizzling.
Visible crew/equipment: At the very end of the scene where Buffy and Giles discuss what happened (including The Initiative), you can see the microphone at the top of the screen. (00:39:45)
Audio problem: When Buffy is about to close the door as she goes into the bathroom, it actually never closes. But we still hear the sound of the door closing. (00:15:20)
Audio problem: When Giles and Anya are talking to the demon, trying to get him to open the portal to Beljoxa's Eye, when you see Anya's face from the side, her lips don't sync up with what she is saying, and sometimes her lips are moving to words when she doesn't have any lines at all.
Get It Done - S7-E15
Plot hole: When Dawn and Buffy discover Chloe hanging in the bathroom, Dawn gives a little gasp but nothing more. But, seconds later, some Potentials run from across the hall saying "What is it? We heard -" before they see Chloe. While it suits the next scene to have them there, there wouldn't have been any sounds loud enough for them to have heard from across the hall through a closed door.
Audio problem: When Giles and Miss Calender are walking through the halls at the beginning of the episode there's a kid at the vending machine, we hear the coins rattling but he never puts money into the slot. In fact, the money doesn't go anywhere near the slot.
I Only Have Eyes For You - S2-E19
Audio problem: When Giles looks through the window of a door at the high school and sees the janitor yelling at the teacher, the janitor's lips don't match with what he is yelling.
Continuity mistake: When Dawn was at the house, she had a grey top and a red skirt, but outside, she had a red top and black pants.
Revealing mistake: When Anya sings her song about how she will become Mrs. Harris, she spins Xander's chair around after putting a blanket on him. When she is also sitting on the chair, and you see an overhead shot of them both, you can see a section of the stage floor rotating beneath them keeping the chair spinning.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning when Buffy and Willow are talking about Willow getting together with Oz, Buffy's hair is in front of her ears. Then she turns to face Willow to say, "You think he's too old 'cause he's a senior? My boyfriend had a bicentennial," and in that shot change, her hair switches to behind her ear then goes back to being in front of her ears in the next shot without her every touching her hair.
Life Serial - S6-E5
Continuity mistake: While working at the Magic Box, Buffy's horseshoe necklace constantly shifts between left, middle, and right positions, even within the time loops. (00:20:20)
Revealing mistake: Near the end, the TV behind Andrew shows the periscope's view, but it doesn't match the movements he makes with it. (00:36:25)
Continuity mistake: When Joyce throws the bag with the stray cat into it into the hole, the bag lands with the knot at the top right, and shows no signs of moving. They chat for a few seconds about something to say, then when Buffy starts filling in the hole (with no sound of a moving bag), the bag's now lying with the knot on the left.
Continuity mistake: In Bargaining, part 1, Anya is talking to Giles while he trains the Buffybot. There's a shot from behind and we can the corner of her jumper move around as she turns away, then it cuts back to a front view of her and she's still facing Giles. (00:26:20)
As You Were - S6-E15
Audio problem: When Buffy has just killed the Suvolte demon and Riley is found out to have not told her it was a tracking only mission Sam says something like 'If we weren't under time constraints, I'd rip you a new one.' Riley then says 'Stand down soldier.' Buffy asks Sam, 'Is he your boss?' And Sam replies 'He wishes. We better regroup.' But her lips to not move when she says they have to regroup. You can see her mouth on screen and she is just smiling, not moving her lips at all.
Other mistake: When Angel fights with Buffy in the forest you can see that he hasn't got shoes on, just socks. Later, when Buffy goes back to the mansion and Angel is chained up, he's wearing shoes. How did he manage to put them on, if he was in chains?
Factual error: After Buffy drags Xander down to the basement she locks the door and goes upstairs to find Dawn. When she locks the basement door, the handle is on the left side of the door and she turns the key to the right. In reality, a door with the handle on the left needs the key to be turned to the left to lock it. So Buffy did in fact unlock the door, not lock it.
Beneath You - S7-E2
Continuity mistake: Shortly after the opening credits we see Buffy, Dawn and Xander driving to the new high school. As they're talking, the rest of the credits roll by onscreen. Just after "Producer: Marc David Alpert" is shown, there is a side-angle shot of the car and you can see Xander's left arm resting outside on the open door window. But in the following shot he has both his hands on the steering wheel.
Chosen answer: "So goes the nation" seems to have been used on many occasions, with various different US states in the "As .... goes" section. Most commonly it seems to be California that's considered to lead the way, but probably most other states have appeared in the lead role at some point or another. Other things have also been used - no less a person that Pope John Paul II said "As the family goes, so goes the nation...". The origin of the quote format is unclear - in US politics it goes back into the 19th century, when it was Maine that held the title spot, but, while no definitive origin is known, it seems highly likely that it goes back considerably further than that.
