Buffy The Vampire Slayer

This Year's Girl (1) - S4-E15

Continuity mistake: In 'This Year's Girl' when Faith is taunting Joyce with all Buffy's uncollected mail she flings the envelopes across the bed one by one, scattering them. When Faith is fighting Buffy later on they are all in a pile again. (00:37:20 - 00:38:40)

Anne - S3-E1

Continuity mistake: In the episode 'Anne' when the latest people to be brought into hell are lined up with a demon talking to them, there are 3 or 4 people standing between Buffy and Lily. When the demon asks them all in turn 'Who are you?' we see him asking Lily and after that the shot rests on Buffy, but in the background we only hear him ask one more person before he gets to Buffy. Lessons - S7-E1

Visible crew/equipment: When Xander is in the bathroom after Buffy called him to look for the talisman, he bends down and grabs the talisman that lays under the sinks. As he stands the camera pans up to the mirrors and on the left side you can see the reflection of a crew member crouching over the hole to the old school. It's not the female manifest spirit as the clothes are wrong and she then appears from a different part of the room.

Innocence (2) - S2-E14

Continuity mistake: When Buffy wakes up she is wearing metallic nail polish, yet when she went to sleep previously, she has no nail polish on. Later in a scene where Buffy is dreaming about her night with Angel she has the nail polish on again, even though that took place the night before when she did not have her nails painted. (00:01:15)

Seeing Red - S6-E19

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Buffy is running from the large saws and jumps out the door, she sits up and you can see the book is fully intact and in one piece. After the opening credits Tara picks up the same book and it falls apart from being cut in half.

Touched - S7-E20

Revealing mistake: When Giles slashes the Bringer's neck in the basement, you can tell that there is no entry wound and that the fake blood was merely applied to the actor's neck to give the impression of it being slashed.

Pangs - S4-E8

Revealing mistake: One of the arrows that Spike gets hit with passes through just below his left shoulder, but there are times when you can tell that it is a fake arrow because the part of the arrow sticking out at the front moves and the part at the back does not. Look at the arrow just after Buffy turns Hus into a bear.

The Killer In Me - S7-E13

Continuity mistake: When Willow is out with Kennedy, Willow tells her that she doesn't get why she likes her. As she says "I still don't get it", she pulls her hair back over her left ear. Then when she says "Why you like me" in the following shot, her hair is hanging back down over her left ear again.

Sleeper - S7-E8

Continuity mistake: When Anya pretends to want to have sex with Spike again, she holds a stake up in her right hand. In the shots facing Anya she holds it at a horizontal angle. But in the shots behind her, she holds it at a diagonal angle.

Touched - S7-E20

Spike: You listen to me. [Kneels in front of her.] I've been alive a bit longer than you, and dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine, and done things I prefer you didn't. I don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood, which doesn't exactly rush in the direction of my brain. So I make a lot of mistakes, a lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred plus years, and there's only one thing I've ever been sure of: you. [Buffy looks away; he reaches toward her face.] Hey, look at me. I'm not asking you for anything. When I say, "I love you, " it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.
Buffy: [Quietly.] I don't wanna be the one.

Chosen answer: "So goes the nation" seems to have been used on many occasions, with various different US states in the "As .... goes" section. Most commonly it seems to be California that's considered to lead the way, but probably most other states have appeared in the lead role at some point or another. Other things have also been used - no less a person that Pope John Paul II said "As the family goes, so goes the nation...". The origin of the quote format is unclear - in US politics it goes back into the 19th century, when it was Maine that held the title spot, but, while no definitive origin is known, it seems highly likely that it goes back considerably further than that.
