Continuity mistake: When Buffy puts her egg down, the position of the chain and pen she sets it down by change depending on whether the shot's from Willow's side or Buffy's. (00:08:40)
Continuity mistake: Right as Buffy gets out of the car and watches Joyce drive away, Cordelia and her friend are walking up the stairs, along with a girl in a blue shirt at the top of the stairs walking towards the school. The next shot Buffy is walking towards the stairs, Cordelia is already far away chatting with her friend and the girl is blue is back on the stairs again. (00:27:00)
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning when Buffy and Willow are talking about Willow getting together with Oz, Buffy's hair is in front of her ears. Then she turns to face Willow to say, "You think he's too old 'cause he's a senior? My boyfriend had a bicentennial," and in that shot change, her hair switches to behind her ear then goes back to being in front of her ears in the next shot without her every touching her hair.
Continuity mistake: When Buffy wakes up she is wearing metallic nail polish, yet when she went to sleep previously, she has no nail polish on. Later in a scene where Buffy is dreaming about her night with Angel she has the nail polish on again, even though that took place the night before when she did not have her nails painted. (00:01:15)
Continuity mistake: In Innocence, when the Scoobies are in the library, Oz (I think) says for the crew to meet outside Xander's house a half hour later. Then we cut to Buffy strolling through Sunnydale High in broad daylight, then back to Oz's van outside the military base and it's last night again. (00:23:15 - 00:29:20)
Continuity mistake: The book that Cordelia replaced sideways in the bookshelf behind her disappears, and then reappears just before she and Xander kiss.
Continuity mistake: When Willow catches Xander and Cordelia kissing in the library, the hair next to Willow's right ear moves between shots as her and Xander are talking in the hallway.
Continuity mistake: When the Judge is blown up, Drusilla and Angel leap from the balcony. In mid-air, they somersault and their backs are facing the ground as they fall, but a second later they land on their stomachs.
Continuity mistake: When Buffy is told that Angel has become Angelus, she mentions "I should have known. When I saw him at the house he was different", but her earlier conversation with him took place not at the house but at his apartment. This isn't just a strange turn of phrase - the scene was originally shot at the Summers house, but was changed to Angel's apartment for more emotional resonance.
Continuity mistake: When Willow shows up at Oz's house to talk, her hair keeps switching back and forth between being behind her back or in front of her shoulders.
Continuity mistake: When Buffy looks into the childrens' ward the sign on the door saying 'Basement Access' disappears and reappears between shots. (00:12:00 - 00:36:15)
Continuity mistake: While Buffy is in the hospital, they zoom in on the bedside clock changing from 2:26 to 2:27. In the next shot of Buffy, you can see the clock in the background and it reads 12:15.
Continuity mistake: After drinking the water with the virus, Buffy looks into a room and her hair is damp and brushed back. In the next shot, it's dry and parted down the middle.

Continuity mistake: When George shoots Mrs. Frank, her body falls off the balcony headfirst on a closeup shot. She flips in the air once on her way down. But in the following wide shot, she flips in the air on her way down again.
Continuity mistake: When Willow is interrogating Jonathan, she makes a comment about how he resented being pushed around. In the first shot, she's facing him. It then cuts to the opposite angle, and she's facing sideways. Then, in the very next shot, she suddenly turns 180 degrees between cuts after walking by him.
Continuity mistake: When Buffy, Willow, and Cordy are talking at the swim meet (after Gage waves at Buffy), the way Buffy is holding her hands changes back and forth between two positions as it cuts between her and Cordy. Seems two different takes were used, and she had her hands in slightly different positions in them.
Chosen answer: "So goes the nation" seems to have been used on many occasions, with various different US states in the "As .... goes" section. Most commonly it seems to be California that's considered to lead the way, but probably most other states have appeared in the lead role at some point or another. Other things have also been used - no less a person that Pope John Paul II said "As the family goes, so goes the nation...". The origin of the quote format is unclear - in US politics it goes back into the 19th century, when it was Maine that held the title spot, but, while no definitive origin is known, it seems highly likely that it goes back considerably further than that.
