Tabula Rasa - S6-E8
Continuity mistake: When the gang is in the Magic Box and they pass out, we see Buffy fall on the floor at the top of the stairs, but in the next shot she has moved and is now lying on the steps.
Continuity mistake: The episode begins the morning after Buffy and Spike first have sex. That night, Willow and Amy go out again to find Rack's place, and this cuts directly to Willow waking up the next morning. But later in the episode, Spike makes repeated references to what happened between him and Buffy "last night", when in fact it was two nights ago.
Continuity mistake: Just before Buffy storms out on Spike, she puts on her denim jacket. When viewed from in front we can see the jacket is only half over her shoulders and her hair is loose. The shot cuts to view her from behind, and the jacket is now completely on and her hair is tucked under the collar.
Continuity mistake: In 'Gone', when invisible Buffy is typing on the social worker's keyboard the letter 'B' is pressed several times. When she prints what she's been typing seconds later it's revealed to be "All work and no play make Doris a dull girl", a phrase which contains no 'B's. (00:21:10)
Continuity mistake: In the kitchen scene Buffy takes the pizza out of the fridge and closes the door, but in the next shot the door is open and two shots later it's closed again.
Continuity mistake: After Doris from Social Services leaves Buffy's house and Spike leaves after her, he takes his lighter out of Buffy's pocket. But earlier in the episode when everyone was packing away all of Willow's magic stuff, Buffy finds Spike's lighter and puts it in one of the boxes.
Continuity mistake: As Buffy is being trained at the register, the receipt at the top of the register switches in every shot. (00:07:45)
Continuity mistake: Timothy is wearing disposable gloves as he is training Buffy at the grill, but in the shot when he puts the raw patties on the grill, he is barehanded. (00:16:15)
Continuity mistake: When Buffy is assigned to the grill, as Timothy explains the process he's wearing a short-sleeved orange/white stripe uniform. In the close-up, when he places the second patty on the grill, Timothy is wearing a 3/4 sleeve, dark blue shirt. (00:17:15)
Continuity mistake: When Timothy shows Buffy how to use the grill, there is a wood-handled grill press, and another tool, right in front of the button panel. However, after he says, "It eliminates variation," in the close-up as he presses the button, both tools as well as the transparent plastic glove he wears have all vanished. (Another mistake notes a different close-up with a disappearing glove.) (00:17:25)
Continuity mistake: The finger changes position in Buffy's hand as she picks it up. (00:23:35)
Continuity mistake: New boss Lorraine unfolds her arms twice. (00:39:05)
Continuity mistake: When Buffy's friends come visit her at work, WIllow is playing with some straws in a styrofoam cup next to the register which disappears a few shots later.
Continuity mistake: When Manny stamps Buffy's card in the time clock, he hands the time card to her with his right hand, but in the next shot facing Buffy, Manny hands the card to Buffy with his left hand.
Continuity mistake: When Buffy is being offered the 'doublemeat medley' burger by her boss, the burger looks different in close up than in the long shots. In the close shot, the burger looks overall bigger, more filling is visible and there is more lettuce sticking out.
Dead Things - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: As Warren is prowling the bar, the tie camera shows a redhead walking past and then a man in a white shirt sitting at the end of the bar in the background. A moment later Warren sees Katrina sitting there. (00:08:20)
Dead Things - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: In the episode (series six) where Buffy thinks she killed Warren's ex-girlfriend, when she's at the police station, in the over the shoulder shot of Desk Sergeant, he is holding the phone between his shoulder and ear. But in the front shot of him the phone has jumped to his hand. (00:36:45)
Continuity mistake: The security tag on Buffy's new jacket shifts when Buffy first sees it. (00:12:50)
Chosen answer: "So goes the nation" seems to have been used on many occasions, with various different US states in the "As .... goes" section. Most commonly it seems to be California that's considered to lead the way, but probably most other states have appeared in the lead role at some point or another. Other things have also been used - no less a person that Pope John Paul II said "As the family goes, so goes the nation...". The origin of the quote format is unclear - in US politics it goes back into the 19th century, when it was Maine that held the title spot, but, while no definitive origin is known, it seems highly likely that it goes back considerably further than that.
