The Show Must Go On - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: When Ishizaki is helping Tsubasa to get the ball back, there's a reaction shot on Urabe. His only recognizable teammate is the hat guy, but his hat had the initials "OONN" in the previous episodes, and now the hat says "DONN." You can see the difference in this episode too when Ishizaki has a flashback of their match against Nishigaoka, the hat guy is the keeper. (00:17:00 - 00:18:25)

Other mistake: Supporters cheer Ishizaki when he is trying to break the birdcage tactic. One of the guys who screams at him though is wearing the "S" jersey Shuutetsu supporters wear. (00:17:55)

Other mistake: There were 3 defenders not taking part to the birdcage strategy, but Tsubasa does not have to beat any of them, except Takasugi who tries an American football tackle that would be penalized even by the very loose standards of the referees of this anime, and that happens as if he had to intercept him coming from behind; by every logic he should be in front of him. The Show Must Go On - S1-E7

Character mistake: According to the tactical reading of Tsubasa's dad, Tsubasa's flaw is that he's not used to team play since he's just been playing with the ball on his own from a tender age. Just seconds before, Genzo made the comment that Tsubasa is a clever player that can read the passes of his opponents instantly. So he's both clueless about team play and an expert on it in the space of 30 seconds.

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: Ishizaki kicks the air to show that the injury is no biggie, and then clutches the injured ankle. Which was the right ankle, but his hand is on the left one. (00:04:50)

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: Wakabayashi is still on all fours, dejected after being bested by Tsubasa. He lost his baseball cap parrying the shot in the right corner, but now both his beret and his wounded pride are towards the opposite side of the goal. (00:05:00)

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Audio problem: When Urabe gets in the field to ask to be a substitute, western dubs (verified in the Italian and spanish dubs) have Ryo (or "Bruce") ask him who he is. Ryo knows perfectly well who Urabe is, and they played a friendly match just a couple episodes before too. (00:06:45)

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: When Sanae waves at Tsubasa to cheer for him after Roberto's comedy bit with Ryo (telling him he wished he got injured earlier) the kid to her left has red hair instead of its proper dark color. (00:14:20)

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Plot hole: For no reason and without the fact being addressed at all, 2 defenders take the kick off for the second extra time (and naturally lose it instantly, while Tsubasa and Misaki would never have). (00:18:00)

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: A rare sight, the Nankatsu keeper actually parries something. When he does that he ends up on the ground, and his face is clean. He gets up, and his face is muddy. (00:18:30)

A Perfect Duo - S1-E8

Factual error: In this episode we have a random person showing up and being admitted to the team and playing as substitute on the spot, with nobody protesting. He puts on the (sweat-soaked, presumably!) uniform of another player and just goes ahead without any check from the referee or assistants. Given that the match is between two schools without necessarily having the official football federation involved, it is understandable, but they do not even ask the opposing coach if they are OK with something so obviously outside of any established rule. And they are still playing in a packed stadium, with official referees and even a radio commentator! Only in anime.

Kick-Off for the Future - S1-E3

Trivia: International versions change Roberto's message to his coach at San Paulo FC, adding for some reason that he met a girl he fell in love with. This girl is never referenced nor appears, since, well, she does not exist? Roberto mentions that he met Tsubasa instead, who he wants to bring to greatness. (00:12:40)
